Avon Supershock Mascara

I brought this Super Shock mascara from Avon because it was in the book that it has got an extra big brush and is supposed to give you more volume and thickness on your lashes. I think it was about £8.00 when I brought it and that's quite cheap for a mascara that does this but when I tried it I saw why it was so cheap and that's because it doesn't thicken my eye lashes much and the brush is so big that it's hard to apply without making a mess. I decided to try the Avon super shock mascara when I saw it advertised in the last campaign at a special price of £5.00. To be honest I am yet to find a mascara that I could say I loved and I am still at the stages of trying different ones until I find one I can happily settle with. I have this Intense Teal version of this mascara, and chose it purely for the vivid colour, which looked fantastic in the catalogue. I was disappointed to discover that I needed to apply at least three coats to get anywhere near the colour intensity shown. Given the texture of this mascara, I was not at all keen to apply more than one coat: it is clumpy and gluey, and didn't go on smoothly at all. The brush is massive - the biggest I've ever seen by a long way. I purchased my Avon Supershock Mascara when the product was first released and was on offer in the brochure at an introductory price of £5, with the usual brochure price being £8. However, it is very rarely in the brochure at the full £8 cost and can often be picked up on offer for £5 or as part of a multibuy deal such as 2 for £10. When I first purchased this item it was only available in Black or Black/Brown. I havent seen any Avon brochures recently so I am unsure as to whether this is still the case or whether they have introduced some new colours to the range. I use a lot of Avon products but don't tend to wear make up on a day to day basis but this mascara was part of a special offer so I thought I would give it a go! The Avon Supershock mascara comes in Black and Black/brown. There is also Supershock Intense which comes in Violet and Teal. I bought it in Black.
