Eyeshadow is something that I have never really purchased from Avon, maybe when I was younger, but an attractive offer and the colours which I normally use tempted me from not being as loyal to my other brands as I normally am.
There are only several colours that I use in eyeshadow and they are various shades of brown, I am not very adventurous when it comes to eyeshadow purely because when I try different colours they don't really suit me so I stick to what I know best and what actually looks good on me.
The Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad is now available slightly different than the picture shown above and the various colours that they have in them are in little circles as opposed to ovals shown in the picture. The presentation of the product is really nice, a shiny blue compact that sometimes proves a little bit difficult to get in, however once you do get in there you have your four different shades of the eyshadow that you have chosen, a small applicator and a mirror for make up on the go, however if you have to take your eyeshadow everywhere with you you must be really vain and that is coming from someone that loves there make up.
Starting with the applicator, you have two ends that can be used, both are made of very soft sponge, one is larger applicator to apply to power to you lids and the other a smaller, mre thinner applicator if you are using colour underneath the lower eye. The applicators shown above are not the ones that you actually get these days. Now initially to start with I was really happy with the applicator however after several uses, I have found that becuase it is so soft, it has started fall apart and come away from the middle which is a little disappointing and pointless really as you would expect the applicator to last as long as the powders do and there isn't a great deal of powder in there to start with.
NOw the various colours, I went with the shades of brown, as with most quads, you get several shades that you like and one that never gets used. I have found that the consistency of the powder differs from shade to shade, I don't know whether it is me, but the shades that seem more popular seem to break up a little bit and go onto the applicator in clumps, good if you want to apply in just one hit, but not good because the powder falls onto your cheeks and then when you remove it smudges if you have other make up on. The less popular colours seem to go onto the applicator very lightly and are applied a lot better. I can only comment on my experience with the shades on brown.
In general though I do like the colours and when applied it lasts all day long and you never have to reapply unlike some cheaper brands. I don;t find that it creases either and looks smooth, no matter how long you have it on.
The colours that have together all go well together, you get some brands where they slip a colour in that is not going to blend in or look right with the rest however these shades do.
They could improve this product by providing a decent applicator, this is only real downside that I had with this product as I never seem to have spare ones about.
Worth trying if it is on offer, which I paid £5, instead of 10, but because of how small the inner pots are I would go back for repeat purchase unless it was on offer again!!
