What a bargain (Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad)

Being an eyeshadow obsessive, I like to try different brands as often as I can. I'd always used Avon for the body lotions, shower gels and perfumes but kept away from the eyeshadows thinking they'd be bad quality.

A few campaigns ago, I saw the new look True Colour Eyeshadow Quads on offer for £5. Immediately drawn to the cheap price and classy packaging, I had to buy one. I purchased it in Mocha Latte which is a selection of neutral colours. A light beige shade (ideal for lid and highlight), a medium brown, a darker brown and then a lovely dark bronze shade.

The packaging is extremely sleek and stylish. Based on the Lancome Quad, it has shiny black plastic, with a huge mirror inside, domed shadows and applicator on the side. The mirror is great making it perfect for chucking in your bag and using as a compact mirror.

The colour pay-off on these shadows really surprised me actually. For £5, I thought I was going to be getting half decent shadows. It's really not the case. All four colours are extremely pigmented.

Lasting power, I'm unsure of as I do use a primer to ensure my shadow stays all day. I might experiment to see how long they last without a primer, and update this in the future.

Overall I do love this quad. I'm going through a neutral eye phase at the moment and use this pretty much everyday along with other brown shadows. Considering the Lancome quad which is similar retails at a lot more than this, it's really worth a look. Only thing I would say is, if there's any colour variations with lighter shades, I don't think they'll be as pigmented. Saying that, I can't wait to get some other quads from this range!
