Being a big fan of avon and a sucker for lipstick and lipgloss i always try the new ranges and colors. So i was delighted when they brought out this. I love all the ranges, makes, cheap or expensive. So when i seen this in the book in a lovely honey pinky color i ordered it right away. It didnt cost much only about £4-5. At first it takes a couple of twists to actully get the lipgloss out but after the first use it very easily comes out. Its easy to use and its sticky enough to stay on the lips but not sticky enough to run or get everywhere i hate it when my hair gets stuck in my lipgloss! The color itself is silky and there all very mild so great for everyday use. Although, i must admit its not my favourite lipgloss from avon and i don't purchase it alot. I give this a 3 star rating simply because i've tried better and it doesnt last very long if you use it everyday But, itis easy to use and is great for the price.
I bought this lip gloss some time ago from Avon. I cant remember exactly how much I paid for it but I remember it was on some sort of offer so I paid about half the price that it usually retails at. I think it usually costs about £5. When it arrived it looked exactly as it does in the picture above, I even think I have the same colour. It came wrapped in film so to get into the product its a simple case of tearing the film off. To use, you simply take the lid off and twist the bottom of the lip gloss round until the product comes out. To begin with it took about a hundred twists to get to the product but now it only takes a couple. One thing I have noticed is that you must be a bit cautious when twisting and give the lip gloss a few seconds to catch up as otherwise the gloss all spills out over the top and there is way too much to put on your lips. Usually two or three clicks is plenty for my lips. The applicator is like a small piece of gelled plastic which is odd as usually its a brush or a sponge applicator. You simply glide the plastic over your lips to apply it. To begin with I found the feel of the plastic quite strange however I soon got used to it and thinking about it it is probably far cleaner than using a brush or a sponge all the time that can harbour bacteria. The applicator is easy to clean if you do get too much gloss on it, you simply wipe it clean with a tissue and it will be good as new again. The lip gloss itself looks so shiny and glossy. The colour is good and it stays on my lips for a few hours as long as I dont eat or drink. The colour which I have which is shown above is a nice enough colour to wear every day as it is not too strong. After the gloss has worn off I notice that my lips are still usually a nice pink colour. The gloss is not too sticky which is one thing I hate about lip glosses! When I rub my lips together it instead feels nice and smooth. The gloss leaves my lips feeling quite smooth and soft so it must also have some moisturising qualities. If my lips are cracked and sore I will always use a lip balm or vaseline but this is good to keep them nourished everyday. I like this lip gloss and would recommend it, it is a nice colour and feels nice to wear. It is not too sticky and it is a nice subtle colour.
My nan ordered this twist and glide lip gloss from Avon. But when it arrived it was not exactly the shade she liked. So I was asked if I could provide this lip gloss a loving home which I was more than pleased to do. This twist and glide lipgloss is quite genius in it's concept and design. I have to admit, I am very impressed with this beauty product and my hubby is far from delighted that I have found yet another beauty product that I can't live without! I am very much a lipstick girl rather than lipgloss as I like a more solid block of colour on my lips. I have lipstick on from putting the bin out in the morning and friends know if i'm ill if Im not wearing lippie! But this lipgloss in my opinion is different from others as it is much more intense in both consistency and colour. Making it a lot more obvious than other lip glosses available. This lip gloss is so simple yet genius in design. Instead of the wand applicator, this lipgloss looks more like a thick nibbed felt tip pen. On the top of the 'pen' is a winder which you turn in order to dispense the gloss from the nib. In fairness, it does take a few practices in order to correctly establish how much to turn the winder. At first I was over keen and consequently ended up with too much gloss oozing out of the nib. Which made me look like the local drag queen. The consistency of this lip gloss is very thick. You certainly know that you are wearing it as it is quite heavy and feels quite plump on the lips. I do find that it is really good at staying in place and does not have to be reapplied at regular intervals. It also has a pleasing but not overpowering scent. It is very subtle and I prefer this as half the time when wearing lip gloss I end up licking it off! I am impressed with the range of colours that are available in this lip gloss. There seems to be all ages and tastes catered for. From vibrant colours to more subtle shimmering shades. This gloss does indeed shimmer. I leaves a very proffesional sheen on the lips. I feel that it has the same consistency and finish as more expensive lipglosses such as chanel. I found that this lipgloss lasted quite a long time. It did not however last as long as an ordinary lipgloss.I was disappointed in one area regarding this product. It does not really offer any warning that it is running out. So I would suggest keeping a spare to hand just in case. These lipglosses are I believe around £4. Although my nan always buys mine as a treat so I am not entirely sure on the exact cost of this product. What I would say is that I think £4 is a very fair price for this lipgloss. I think it is well worth the cost as in my opinion it offers far more than a normal lipgloss. I also find that it does not dry or irritate my lips as some other lipglosses have. I would certainly advise anyone to try these lipglosses. Even if like me you are more inclined to use lipstick. I am very much converted by this product as it offers such a lovely shimmering finish which really enhances the lips. If there is a negative, I would say it is the same negative I have with all avon products and that is that you have to pick the shade of your lipgloss from a colour chart in the catalogue. I have often found (and so has my nan hence me having this gloss) that the shades on the products look different in reality or even if they are exact you can't sample to see if it suits you. Therefore it is a little bit of a gamble. All I can say is if you buy and you don't like drop me a line and Ill use it for you. Im sure my husband would be delighted as I relish in the prospect of a new shade I can't live without.
I'm a bit dubious about ordering some cosmetic items from Avon as I'm never entirely convinced that the catalogue will provide an accurate representation of the colour. I got this lip gloss as part of a free gift when purchasing another item that was on special offer. I couldn't find it on the Avon website, but it's available from Amazon and I'm sure you could easily track it down on eBay. The RRP is £6.00. I have this lip gloss in the shade named 'coral' which is an easily wearable mid-toned pink that would look good against most skin tones. It comes in a 7g tube with a plastic lid that you pull off. Lurking inside is a most unusual applicator! The gloss is in the base of the tube, and you twist the base to push the gloss out at the top. There is a flexible rubbery plastic tip at the end of the gloss tube, and as you turn the base the gloss pops out of a little hole at the top of the rubber tip! It looks very odd, and you only get a tiny amount of gloss coming out through the hole. Don't be too enthusiastic and twist too much, as otherwise the pressure will continue to push out more gloss even after you've put it on and replaced the lid. Next time you open it, it will have oozed out inside the cap and could get messy. You spread the gloss on with the rubber tip and I think it feels quite weird, as I'm used to the sponge or brush tip applicators. The gloss spreads easily but it can look uneven if you have not twisted out enough to cover your entire lip. It can take a couple of times of twisting and applying to get enough gloss for a really high shine look, and it can appear smeared on if you only use a little bit of gloss. I was pleased with the shade as I usually hate the colour coral, but over the natural pink colour of my lips it gave a bright pink finish that stands out but doesn't look too girly or fake. It's very pretty and there is a good amount of golden glitter which gives a lovely glow to your summer look. The glitter stays in place well and adds another dimension to the gloss. One thing I really liked about this gloss is its yummy sweet scent, it smells sweet and fruity. This is nice and can be smelt while you're wearing it. I quite like this as it's not too overpowering, but you can still smell it for a while after applying because obviously your lips are right underneath your nose! It also has a really nice taste to it, like hard candies and lollipops! This is really nice and reminds me of another lip gloss I had from No7 that was actually designed to have sweetie flavours. This does smooth on fairly easily once you get used to the weird applicator, and the gloss feels quite light and wet, without being sticky. It can get a little sticky as it starts to dry out through the day, but this is bearable and can be sorted with a quick wipe and a touch up. The finish is very polished to begin with, but as I am eating and drinking or whatever through the day the gloss wears away and leaves an almost matte finish behind. It still has some subtle shimmer and shine though, and after 4-5 hours it can still look good. If I am wearing it during the day when I will be out for a long time I take the tube with me and make sure to re-apply it when I can see it's wearing off. The colour and the glitter are my favourite things about this gloss, it looks very pretty and gives you a bit of glamour even as part of your everyday look. The colour is easily wearable and goes with almost anything, it balances out well if you have gone for a bright colourful eye make-up look and gives a pretty perky look even on my tired early morning face! I really like this gloss, I think it looks really effective and has good staying power. It is the perfect finish for most of my make-up looks, as I very rarely use a strong dark lip colour, I prefer to go for heavy eyes and more subtle lips. It took a while to get used to using it and settling on the right amount of product to apply, but once I got the hang of it I started to enjoy using it more. I would definitely recommend this gloss, just have a little patience and get to grips with the applicator tip properly.
