===Why I Got This===

As I always see the Avon brochures I was aware of the 24K Gold lipsticks but thought it was all a bit of a gimmick. However as they now seem to be selling them off on clearance I thought I would give one a try.

===The Product===

Comes packed in a black cellophane wrapper that has to be peeled open.
Made in Poland and contains Oxybenzone.
Matt gold colour case with a shiny band around the centre - the case is slightly fatter in the centre.
When you pull the top off the lipstick inside is twist up.
The lipstick itself is an inch tall and has a chiselled top for ease of application - AVON is cut into the side of the lipstick.

===Cost===

£2.25 on discount but the original price was £8.50.

===My Opinion===

Avon state - 'Rich and creamy lipstick infused with real 24K gold particles for instant sparkle. Lips look luminous, soft and smooth and feel moisturised. Glides on smoothly and stays colour true'.
I was not unduly impressed by the inclusion of gold in this lipstick but decided to order one when it was on sale for £2.50 as I imagined it would be in a nice case and be a good lipstick.
The case is gold - both shiny and matt - but I do not think it feels especially opulent to me.
The lipstick inside twists up easily and the appearance of the stick is very glossy and shiny - in fact the lipstick itself looks like it might even have a layer of plastic over it - which it does not.
The gold flecks in the lipstick are very small and just add a sort of shimmer to the lipstick- rather than them being glittery.
I must say I was disappointed with this lipstick. I had ordered Golden Peach - and I do tend to like many different shades - be they pinks, peaches or browns. However this peach was so subtle as to be more of a gloss covering and if it was not for the shiny effect you would not have known you were wearing anything. Not one I would really bother wearing as it did not give enough colour for me. Perhaps the darker shades give more coverage - but a shiny cheap lip gloss would have been just as adequate. Its supposed moisturising properties seem lacking as well.
I also did not really like the feel of it on my lips after a while - quite unusual for me as I tend to use may different Avon lip products.
This has now been discontinued from the Avon brochures and website but it may be brought back and can be purchased on Ebay.
I would not think it was worth the full price and personally I do not want it for the £2 discount price either so I shall be returning it.

===Star Rating===

1 star. Not worth the bother.

===Would I Recommend?===

No.

Summary: Gimmicky lipstick that does not deliver colour or moisture.
