“ Brand: B. / Type: Blushers „
When it comes to make up I tend to vary the style depending on the seasons. For example I tend to wear slightly darker neutral shades i.e. brown hues during the winter and then during the summer months I tend to opt for pale eyeshadows. I tend to follow this rule for most make up items such as lip glosses and blushers. After my wonderful No.7 blusher came to an end I wanted a similar sort of shade but without a Boots which has a decent No.7 collection in my new town I opted for a visit to Superdrug.
What I like in a blusher is one that applies easily without giving that awful stripe along your face, you know the ones where girls have applied that much blusher they look like dolls. I like one that will add just a touch of colour without needing an industrial solution to get off. After browsing the vast range in Superdrug I ended up taking advantage of the 1/3 off offer Superdrug has on the B. collection of make up and opted for one of their 'Cheeky' blushers.
B. is a make up brand that I am not overly familiar with but I do find that there products are not only reasonably priced but very good quality. B. claim that their 'Cheeky Blusher' helps to enhance your natural glow as it has a 'silky soft' formulation which has a strong colour intensity making it easily blendable once applied. It also contained Vitamin E which is not only good for your skin but helps to keep it soft.
The shade I chose was 'Macaroon' which is a lovely dusky pink shade which is slightly darker than what I normally go for but it just seemed like the right option when I used the tester. There are quite a number of other shades to choose from so you do get a decent choice. The blusher itself comes in a small, circular grey plastic compact which has a clear lid with the 'B.' logo subtley on the front. B.'s packaging is not all singing or dancing, every item is grey and very minimalist not as exciting as some but I quite like it.
The blusher doesn't come with an applicator which for me is fine as I have a lovely blusher brush to use. Now applying blusher really isn't that hard just as long as you know where to apply it! Blusher only really needs to be applied to the apples of the cheeks with very subtle blending up towards the hairline. Not like those girls who almost seem to paint it on in a long line.
The texture of this blusher is not overly fine so when you do use your brush to apply you won't get a cloud of dust as some blushers are quite powdery and you end up with more all over you than on your face. This blusher does not give off any excess at all so you can easily apply it and blend as much or as little as you like. Despite the colour of the blusher you don't get a lot in one application so you do need to apply it several times just to get a lovely hue on your cheeks. Obviously it is personal choice just how much you use but I find two or three gentle applications of the blusher gives enough colour to be noticeable but also to be subtle.
I find that the Cheeky Blusher does last considerably well during the day and I don't find any real need to re-apply unless I'm out for lunch with clients as I just like to freshen up my make up but if I'm in the office all day I think it wears pretty well, it doesn't particularly fade or go patchy which is obviously a good thing! It is very easily removed as you would expect with a quick face wash or wipe it doesn't leave anything behind.
Overall, I think this was a great little find and I can't really find any fault with it whatsoever. The range of shades is pretty good also which makes a change from some brands. Definitely a great blusher to use so would recommend to all. I can easily give it 5 stars.
