Advantages: Beautiful colours and long lasting

Disadvantages: Not so easy to apply & get even coverage

If you haven't figured out by now that I love Lush and B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful then you will never realise!!! I have been using their products for years, not all great but certainly some wonderful items are stuck in my mind! I quite like B's make up but I do find it can be a bit hit and miss. Especially when it comes to their eye make up. A few months ago I treated myself to a few of the cream eyeshadow range. The cream eyeshadow comes in what looks like a lipgloss tube, its clear showing the colour with a black screw top/ handle with gold writing. To look at they are pretty average in comparison to other B items but don't judge a book by its cover so they say! At present there are 26 different shades and they are all vegan.

Beam:-

Though often appearing to be a softer golden beige in the tube (and entirely beige on B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful's website), Beam Cream Eye Shadow actually goes on as disco era 14 karat molten gold. Given this particular cream's thick, bright metallic finish, I wouldn't recommend it to those of a certain age where wrinkles and skin slackening have already started to occur, as Beam has a tendency to accentuate such flaws.

Though B calls their tubes of liquid colour "Cream Eye Shadows," they actually come with a brush best suited for lining the eye. And in Beam's case, I'd especially suggest that you limit this colour's use to precisely that, as blending it across the lid as an actual shadow can be particularly tricky given that it possesses a hard-to-smudge consistency combined with a bold finish that demands even coverage. And the more light that directly reflects off of it, the more it turns a metallic bumble bee yellow.

Hence, unless worn strictly as an eye liner rather than as a full coverage eye shadow, this is not necessarily a colour I'd recommend for those with olive skin (which is what I have!) or anyone else who doesn't look good in yellow, but rather for those with naturally warm golden complexions who are looking to achieve a complimentary eye-opening, eye-catching glow. That's not to say you can't wear Beam as a traditional eye shadow, it's just that it takes a bit of work to get it just right, and by the time this rightness is achieved, application is often heavy out of necessity, with subtlety generally not being an option.

As a liquid liner, however, I suggest placing a thin line over the eye and filling the lid in with a touch of B's five star Blessed Glitter Cream Eye Shadow (iris glitter in a clear cream base) or Butterfly Glitter Cream Eye Shadow (gold glitter in a clear cream base) for an elegant shimmer fronted by thick lashes decked out in sultry black mascara. (For those who haven't been blessed with fabulous lashes, instead of placing a pale line of Beam directly behind the lash line, simply front it with an ultra-thin smudge of charcoal so that Beam's golden hue doesn't leave your eyes looking washed out.) This allows for drama without being gawdily reminiscent of Austin Power's Goldmember. On the other hand, those who are indeed aiming for an excessive Studio 54 look can not only pack Beam onto their lids, but they can also use the side of its included brush to lightly sweep a dash of gold onto the tips of their lashes, this working to greatest effect on fake lashes which are all the rage at the moment.

Beezer:-

Ordering colour cosmetics online can be a tricky thing, yet if you don't live near a B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful boutique, you really have no choice! Photographs of cosmetics very often fail to tell a product's full colour story, and this is particularly true of Beezer Cream Eye Shadow.

Presented on B's website as more of a golden beige-brown, Beezer is actually a pined olive green with a metallic gold finish that changes colour output depending on how the light hits it. B's Cream Eye Shadows serve two purposes, they can either be spread over the lid as full-on eye shadows, or their slim brush can be used to simply apply a fine line of colour to the upper lash line. No matter how you opt to use Beezer, once applied, its rich colour stays put sans caking or creasing for hours on end. Yet when used as a darker hued eye shadow, Beezer can not only be difficult to evenly blend, but edges nearing colourless neutrality can show a bit of a greyed "dirty" look that comes off as a dark, tired shadowing.

And because its potent colour tends to go on with a heavier finish, I don't recommend that aged lids use this green gold cream all over, as it does tend to accentuate slackened creases. But as a mere liner, Beezer works particularly well to add colour and glow, especially to brown eyes offset by warmer complexions. A sophisticated autumnal shade, I recommend maximising Beezer's timeless elegance by applying a very thin line directly behind lashes (this being quite easy to do with the included high quality brush, making this "liquid liner" one of the most hassle-free you'll ever use).

With just a single line of Beezer being able to catch so much light (and compliments), shadow the lid and brow bone with little more than an ultra light dusting of B's Behold Blusher for a healthy glow, add a sweep of lengthening black mascara over your lashes, and for dramatic depth, apply a dash of B's black kohl liner to the inner shelf of the lower lash line. For lips, depending upon whether you want full coverage or transparent colour, go for B's red brick B Mer or Bellatrix Lip Creams or dab B's Bounce Lip Gloss across your lips for a moist red tint with just a hint of golden glitter for a shimmering, youthful smile.

And for evenings, don't forget a light dusting of B's Gold Glitter, which can not only be applied to the décolleté for a subtly sophisticated sheen, but also to the brow bone as a sheer but light reflective highlighter that brightens eyes to tireless perfection. I promise (cross my heart and hope to die) that this classic look will become a staple in every Mediterranean girl's colour wardrobe, to be called upon every autumn of every year.

Beleek:-

Of all the B Never Cream Eyeshadows, I find Beleek to be the most essential, versatile of the lot. It gives a pale pink shimmering glow that goes quite some way to opening the eye and "waking up" your entire face with a light application to the lid and/or browbone. You can also apply it lightly under the eye to brighten the lower lash line a bit, and when wearing pink lip colours and glosses, a touch of beleek added to the centre of your bottom lip will provide added three-dimensional shine.

The brush that comes with B Never's Cream Eye Shadows is actually a slim eye liner brush, which can make application to the lid or browbone a bit difficult. The best thing to do is
to simply dab this creamy colour to the lid and blend it with your finger. Partly owed to the brush which only allows for lines of application, and partly owed to this cream's denser consistency, it can be rather difficult to blend at first for even coverage, especially when used in conjunction with another eye colour. But once you get it just right, you'll realise the effort was well worth it in Beleek's case.

However, due to this very quality, it does have a tendency to cake in fine lines and creases as time goes on (especially as it increasingly mixes with the natural oils of your skin), so note that it's better to use a little rather than a lot and to check a mirror every few hours so that you can resmooth the colour as necessary. With quite a bit of staying power, there's no need to reapply when this happens -- simply give that which you've already applied a swipe with your finger once again, and all will be well once again.

Personally, I prefer the effect of wearing this eye shadow on its own, sans additional shades of shadowing. Fair skinned blondes will want to combine Beleek eye colour with any of B Never's lip tints. For a girly pastel look for spring and summer, also try Brazil or Bombay Lip Gloss or Belleflower Lip Cream, and for a more dramatic all-season look, give Belle, Blab, or Bonfire Lip Creams a go. For those with darker features, try combining Beleek with Bilingual or Blast Lip Cream for a fresh, natural, youthful look, or go for classical elegance by contrasting it with charcoal to black liner around the eyes and the movie star allure of B Mer Lip Cream at night.

What B say:-

"With a tempting array of subtle and vibrant iridescent jewel colours to choose from, our brilliant cream eyeshadows are guaranteed to turn heads. Formulated with spring water and almond oil, they glide on silky smooth with an easy-to-use fine tipped brush, drying to a feather-light crease free finish. We think they make fabulous eyeliners too!"

Each cream eyeshadw costs £11.75 which if they were all as good as Beleek then i'd say they were worth the money but in reality I find other cheaper brands give a better result which is a shame. Now on the B website there is an option to get eye makeup picked for your eye colour. All you need to do is tick what eye colour you have and it generates the results, however I didn't particuarly like mine! A great point about these cream eyeshadows is that they are vegan which is a plus! My overall opinion is that if you want to try them try and get to a store (London, Poole and Leeds) as buying them online is just far too risky.

Summary: Definately go in store to buy these
