I have used Bare Minerals Clear Radiance for several months now. I think it's a great everyday product.
HOW TO USE
Apply it after your mineral make-up. It is a light pinky peach colour and comes in a jar. You apply it using the swirl, tap and buff technique. Unscrew the lid, tap a few of the minerals out into the lid (less is more) and swirl your brush into the minerals. It's important to use a decent brush. I recommend the Bare Escentuals angled face brush for this. Tap off any excess minerals on your brush into the lid and then buff the minerals onto your face ON THE REQUIRED AREA ONLY. I tend to apply it to my forehead, cheekbones and chin.
I have quite pale skin (I wear the Bare Minerals foundation in fairly light) and this product gives me a healthy, fresh, 'just been out for a long walk' look to the skin. I'm not convinced it would show up very well against darker skin tones. For me, it's ideal as I'm pale and you can't really go overboard with it and end up looking too made up. I also own the rose radiance and have to be really careful not to apply too much of it as it's so strong. I particularly like the clear radiance as it makes me look like I've had a really good nights sleep and gives a lovely glow to my complexion.
VALUE FOR MONEY
I've got a small 0.85g pot which costs around £14 on the web. I've been using it for several months now and still haven't run out, so I think it's good value for money.
I discovered the Bare Escentuals range of make-up in early 2008 and all I can say is that I'll never go back to using any other sort of brand - Bare Escentuals is by far the best range of mineral make-up available in the market. There are many brands introducing their own mineral cosmetics nowadays i.e. L'Oreal, Max Factor, Rimmel etc have all recently brought out their own mineral foundations ad blushers etc. but they do not even compete with bare minerals!
I use the Bare Minerals Clear Radiance on top of my foundation - on my
cheek bones, brow bones, chin, nose and a bit on the forehead to highlight these area's (where the sun will fall). It gives a lovely natural looking dewy glow to your face. You use the same swirl, tap, buff procedure as you would with the foundation to apply the clear radiance on your face. The best way to apply this is to take your jar, shake it and remove the lid. There should be a little product stuck to the inside of the lid. Then, take your brush of choice, swirl it in the lid, tap off the access and buff onto your face. Your face is left with a dewy, fresh look. Once it's all settled after a few minutes your face will look absolutely flawless and radiant. Even on an off day when you don't feel like going through the whole process of applying make-up... just by sweeping some of this on will give you face an instant bright lift leaving you with a dewy fresh look.
Although the Clear Radiance is primarily for the face, you can use this product in many other ways. I use a little under the brow line as it makes a great contour shadow and really makes your eyes stand out. You can also mix the Clear Radiance with Bare Minerals Warmth All Over Face Colour to leave your face looking sun kissed and beautiful, or alternatively with your blusher for the little 'pick me up' look. Another way to use it is to apply some over your favourite lip colour with a lipstick brush for a sexy little glimmer.
The best thing about this radiance is that it looks all natural - everybody keeps saying how radiant my face looks every time I have it on. This item has now become a 'must have' in my make-up bag.
About Bare Escentuals
Bare Escentuals BareMinerals is brought to you by a company called Cosmeceuticals, who also own the likes of Skin Doctors, MD Formulations, Vitage and many other brands but those being the most well known and popular.
Bare Escentuals first of all introuduced their BareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation in 1976, since then Bare Escentuals has created creamy, feather-light color for all over your face, cheeks and eyes. They have a complete line of loose, powder-like products which are 100% pure BareMinerals.
All BareMinerals products are made from 100% pure minerals and only use only the finest ingredients in their products. BareMinerals make up mostly comes in powder form and these are made with crushed minerals from the earth, 100% pure bareMinerals is free of preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other potential skin irritants; is free of fillers and binders; is weightless; provides adjustable coverage - from light to full and will improve the condition of the skin over time. BareMinerals products are suitable for all ages and skin types and conditions and BareMinerals can be particularly beneficial to those who suffer with skin sensitivities, allergies, scars, blemishes, rosacea, wrinkles and pigmentation problems such as vitaligo and chloasma - a condition suffered by many pregnant ladies. BareMinerals acts as a physical, safe, non chemical block against the sun's harmful rays and many of their face products contain SPF15, which is recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation. BareMinerals is actually good for your skin as they contain calming and soothing ingredients making them perfect to use when your skin is really sensitive. BareMinerals slogan is "so pure, you can sleep in it" and this really is true.
Although BareMinerals make up has been around since 1976 it is only in the last few years it has become more well known, and it still isn't as widely known about as it should be. It is America's number 1 selling foundation and also the number 1 mineral make up brand in the world, proving that it must be good. It is slowly coming into more salons and getting more of the deserved publicity it should in the UK. Quite a few salons, I have found mainly in the Midlands stock BareMinerals, and the salon I work in does also, and has done for several years - the customers love it! Since using Bare Escentuals make up on my face, I would never use anything else and I know alot of customers feel the same. I think it is the best make up out there by far.
What Bare Escentuals say about Clear Radiance '"Recapture the beautiful dewiness of a childs skin with translucent Clear Radiance".
Clear Radiance is an invisible powder that has special effects so subtle no one will know you're wearing any make up at all. You can apply under, over or mixed with any face colour for a soft, luminous glow. It is versatile, adjustable and universal.
Clear Radiance is a translucent powder, that buffs onto your skin like a soft cream. It will give your skin a beautifully soft dewiness. Clear Radiance is a shimmering rose colour and looks very natural.
Use & Effects
BareMinerals Clear Radiance can be used on its own or after applying foundation and after applying any colour to your skin. So to apply - using your preferred powder brush (I would definately recommend using Bare Escentuals Flawless Coverage Application Brush to maximise the benefits) swirl the brush inside the lid, absorbing a small amount of bareMinerals onto your brush. Tap to remove the excess powder and then buff onto the skin, concentrating on any areas that have imperfections. You can apply before foundation to create a matt, even skin ready to apply your foundation and after your foundation or colour to give a beautiful dewiness that looks so natural. I usually apply it before I apply my foundation and after my foundation but then I apply my bronzer ontop. It is really quick to apply, it only takes a few minutes an is easy to do.
This is great to dust on if you're in a hurry and just want a light barely there colour which will help the shine and give your skin a matt, even finish. Personally for my skin, alone this wouldn't give me enough coverage, but if you do suffer from quite oily skin and you have fairly good skin and don't like to wear much make up then this is perfect for you and will reduce the shine. Clear Radiance is sheer, you don't see it over your make up, all you see if a more flawless and photo finish to your make up, especially as it also keeps the oil at bay, if you only wear it on bare skin with no other make up, it looks so sheer and soft on your skin you don't notice you are wearing it. It also feels so natural too. It also minimises pores, making large open ones less obvious - this is typical on oily skin types. Although it minimises pores, it doesn't tighten then and make your skin then feel tight. It is light as a feather, so you don't even know its there.
Clear Radiance is a very pale shimmery pink and is great for the cheeks and around the eye area as it brightens your face. I think this is a great product to use on younger girls too, if you don't want your daughters wearing much make up but they want some coverage, this gives you just that. No one will notice they are wearing make up but it gives them the coverage they want and as it is so pure it is good for the skin and won't clog up the pores.
All BareMinerals products are suitable for all skin types - oily, dry, combination and sensitive as it has factors to suit all those skin types. As it is in a powder form it is great for oily skin, as it absorbs the excess oil without it showing, sticking and looking cakey on your skin. If your skin gets oily whilst on, you can just buff over and it absorbs the oil. Clear Radiance is a light weight feathery powder, which doesn't cling to your skin and doesn't highlight any dry patches, it glides over these areas and makes your skin look even and fresh. As it contains all natural mineral ingredients only it is suitable for sensitive skin, it doesn't contain any preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other potential skin irritants and is free of fillers and binders, which makes the perfect foundation for sensitive skin. I suffer from ecezma on my face and this is the only make up I can wear on it without it sticking to it and causing irritation and swelling. There is no need to reapply through out the day as I find this lasts all day.
BareMinerals cannot be compared to other mineral make ups that have recently come onto the market such as loreal, other products do not contain pure minerals, they still contain nasty ingredients so it's not good for your skin and they don't even look good on your skin either.
It is easy to remove, you can use cleanser, make up remover or facial wipes. As it is pure minerals, this is actually okay to sleep in - it won't bring you out in spots as it allows your skin to breathe whilst on and does not clog your pores. Obviously it is best to sleep with no make up on whatsover, but if you forget or don't have anything to remove it with then it doesn't matter.
Price & Availability
Clear Radiance costs £16.00 for a .03oz which I find with daily use will last you about a year. It can be purchased from any salon stocking BareMinerals products, from www.bareminerals.co.uk or from other websites. Even though this seems a lot to pay, it really isn't as it lasts so long. On the website you can purchase a starter kit, containing a foundation, bronzer or clear radiance, concealer, four brushes for these products and a how to guide for £44.95 with a retail value of £119.50, so if you are interested in this make up, I think that kit is really worth it.
I think this is great for people who don't like to wear much make up or for young girls not wanting to wear much but still want some coverage. It is soft and gentle to your skin and will give you a soft, natural looking sheer dewyness. It lasts all day and doesn't need to be reapplied.
