I love love love Bare Escentuals make up to begin with but their blush is amazing! My favorite shade of blush is called Naughty, Naughty and it is amazing. I have so many of the Bare Escentuals blushes (because they come in a lot of the kits) but I have just bought a second thing of the Naughty, Naughty because I ran out. I love this blush so much because a little really does go a long way and the color looks great with my skin, I have used many other of their blushes and feel the same way about them too. The powder is so lightweight and is easy to blend. If your planning on buying any of the blushes I also recommend buying one of their brushes because they are some of the best in my opinion. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a good blush.
I wouldn't like to think how many blushers there are on the market at any one time, you can pay a small fortune for a good one or you can pay a small amount of money and get one that does an adequate job. I usually try to strike the happy medium, although I have quite a few pots of blusher I know that if I am careful and choose the right colour that the pot will be with me for many months to come.
I paid just under £13 for the small pot of Bare Escentuals Blush, the shade I chose was called `Lovely`.
I have pale skin, I need to wear foundation cream and then my already pale skin often looks paler than ever, if I went without any blusher then I would look completely washed out.
The small circular opaque glass pot looks very presentable and it has a matt black plastic screw top lid. Inside of the pot you have 0.03 oz of blusher powder made from 100% bare minerals.
Escentuals Blush powder is free from any harmful ingredients and is suitable for any type of skin.
I have dry skin which I moisturise well before I put any foundation cream on, then I brush my blusher on and it doesn't highlight any of the dry patches.
I usually use a large make up brush to apply blusher, it seems to work well. I just dip the top of the brush into the pot and then make sure that the excess powder is knocked back into the pot.
Then I start to work the brush in a circular motion around the apple of my cheek and maybe take the blusher a little higher up toward my eye.
The actual amount that I apply is next to nothing but it does make all the difference.
The Bare Escentuals Blush is really fine and satiny, it gives you a glow without making it too noticeable. The mineral blush has a hint of shimmer but I don't find that worries me at all, in the sunlight it just adds to the effect.
The light powder just needs to touch your skin and it adds just a hint of the palest pink. I have tried using bronzing pearls and powders but I always find that they look too hard.
The Bare Escentuals blusher is capable of giving you a fairly natural look and I feel that is because it only touches the skin lightly and deposits tiny amounts of powder whereas many blushers adopt that artificial look as soon as they are applied - they sit on your cheeks like a coat of paint !
I bought my Bare Escentuals blush from QVC but in fact I wished that I had done a thorough price comparison check before I bought it, it seems that there are some good bargains about at the moment.
Take a good look at the range of shades too, I think there are about fifteen shades to choose from, I know at the time I was torn between ordering the shade called `Lovely` and a shade called `Laughter`.
One thing that pleased me greatly was that Bare Escentuals assure their customers that the products are not tested on animals, I think that is so important to know.
The blusher is good, it is light and it blends well. It doesn't look artificial or caked on and it is easy to apply. I think that the price that I paid is about a middle of the road price and I have been more than satisfied with the product.
Bare Escentuals produce a whole range of cosmetics and acessories but if you consider buying make a point of doing a price check first of all, you may well find it a bit cheaper on other Internet sites.
If you haven't discovered this brand you have been missing out! Bare Escentuals is my favourite brand of make up, and cannot imagine life now without it.
Bare Escentuals uses 100% pure, finely crushed minerals and is so pure, you can even sleep with it on. They do a range of products from foundation, eye make up, lips and blushes. They also do a wide range of bruses and tools for those make up perfectionists out there. Almost all my make up is is Bare Escentuals after discovering the brand 2 years ago through their foundation. They use minerals which mean that certain skin types can cope with it. For example I have severe acne and this has been my god send. It not only covers it up, but also helps PROTECT my skin. I have spent around £250 on Bare Escentuals products so far, which sounds a lot but I consider it more investment.
All of the brand have very exotic names and range from 'laughter' to 'fruit cocktail'. There are no very excentric style shades but there are many. 13 shades in total which are from shocking pink to soft earth colors. Each has a slight glitter effect to make sure it really catches the light and is to exaserbate the blush beautifully. The glimmer is not overpowering at all which I was a bit worried about before buying. The powder is exceptionally light and air soft in the pot and on your skin.
I chose Dusk from the shades because it is just enough for me. I don't really like bright blushes and never have. I want it to be noticed but not be over powdered by it. This is probibly the most 'earth' color and natural while the others are pinker and lighter. However you have to pick the shade which you feel most comfortable in. Beauty Bay offers fantastic pictures which you can check out. From what I bought, it is a very accurate picture. If you have lighter skin, the bright pinks may be a bit too much for you or if you are darker skinned, then avoid the lighter colors. There is a great amount of choice, and Dusk was the right blush for me.
The pots are pretty small, with 0.85g per pot. This doesn't sound a lot however this has lasted me easily 6 months. Because the powder is so light, you will just have to use a little bit at a time which is easy to use and very economical. The pot itself is really light and is made up of a screw cap in which the powder is underneath a separator where you just shake the pot, and will get as much or as little as you need on the lid. You then dab into the powder and shake of the excess and apply. The only problem about the design of this is if you drop it, it will go EVERYWHERE. I dropped a bit from the lid and because it is just so light, the hoover will simply not pick it all up so if you have a carpet then it will be there for quite a while. However that does prove how well made it is.
Now there is a great natural color range which I was really happy with, but what was it like to apply? I found it really easy as I had already purchased a Bare Escentuals brush which allowed for easy blending. The color was exactly the same on my skin as it was on the pot, and did not loose its color at all. It is really fine and can irritate the eyes slight if you go to close to the eyelid when applying so watch out for that. It blended into the cheek area brilliantly and was easily controlled. If I made a mistake, it was exceptionally easy to correct using a wet cotton pad. I had an added bonus where I wearing the foundation as a powder which complimented brilliantly. After applying and touching up, I had to check how long it lasted...
The problem with my boots natural collection blush and block blushes is was they lasted for around 4/5 hours and then just gave up. Literally just faded away after the 4th hour and sometimes didn't even last until then. Now I needed something that was going to last me for around 6 hours for school/college. I'm not keen on re-applying and don't mind if it starts to go after 6 hours, as I should hopefully be home by then! I can safely say this has effectly kept going for more than 6 hours and have seen it last around 8 and then start to give up the go. It can survive general wear like me leaning against my face and generally just fading away. I was really happy about how well it lasted and how well it could easily be applied.
Now the price. I thought this was a good price at £13.99. Ok it is maybe a bit more than some would be prepared to pay but you are paying for real quality AND quantity. I bought mine from Beautybay.com where I get almost all my beauty products:
Now Boots, Superdrug etc won't sell this as it is still a small based company. It has been made so famous by the internet, reviews and on TV. You will regularly see the brand on QVC, which was where I made my first purchase of the Bare Escentuals make up. It can be bought from many different internet shops and on QVC. Now look out for cheap alternatives, don't go for the Maybellene, Bourjois etc copies. This is the real deal THAT works.
Now I cannot stress how much I love this. Bare Escentuals has changed my life and gave me much more confidence and the glimmer eyeshadow is just one of my favourite items in the range. It is noticeable and really flattering if worn right. It changes my cheeks completely and makes them much more defined. Now the color choice for me, may not be to anyones taste however there are many other colors from bright pink, to orange red to natural browns. Remember they are 100% crushed minerals so can be worn in your sleep. Obviously it would be advisable to not do this however it is perfectly fine to. It is chemical, perfume and solvent free and is what you get.
It is so light and works brilliantly for those with sensitive, acne prone, sore or any other which other blushes can't hide. The range has also be shown to be used by those who have been scarred as it can provide sufficent coverage. If you have acne or pigmentation on the cheeks then it will cover it delicately. It will not look like it is 'caked' on as you need very little for maximum effect.
I love this blush and will gleefully have to buy another shade as it gets to summer and my skin will get darker to compliment my skin better. Until that time, this every day blush can be easily used for night time and with the glimmer, makes it that extra bit special. If you own Bare Escentuals at all, then this is an essential item to have. If you do not own any of the range, I would check it out as you will NEVER go back!
Love It Love It Love It!!! Would fully recommend Bare Escentuals, you won't believe me when I say the entire range has changed my life...

Mineral make-up has recently becomepopular due to it's gentleness on the skin, it doesn't clog up pores as much and lets skin breathe. Bare Minerals specialises in mineral make-up and launched their first foundation in 1976, so it has been around a while. Bare Minerals mineal products contains 100% pure crushed minerals and i free from preservatives, this is great because other brands such as Maybelinne and L'Oreal also do mineral make-up but it's not 100% mineral, more like 75-90%. So, already Bare Minerals has the advatage over other brands.
This blush, like all Bare Minerals products, is ideal for people with oily skin as it get rids of all the shine. This is also good for people who sleep in their make-up which I know we shouldn't but it does happen, as it's comfortable and doesn't make you break out in spots.
This blush is a popular product from the range and Hint (browny/pink) is one of the most bought shades. The product itself comes in a little pot with a black screw top lid, it's small enough to fit in your make-up bag. When you remove the lid, there is a plastic seal over the blush (and it's the same with the foundation) with little holes in it. To release the blush, I turn the blush upside down (with the lid on) to get some particles on the top side of the plastic seal, I then take my brush and collect a few particles onto it. I shake my brush to get rid of the excess and then brush it onto my cheeks and cheek bones.
It is recommended that you use the Kabuki brush to apply the product, I find this a little too large especially with a darker colour as you need more accuracy unlike a light coloured bronzer or shimmer where it doesn't matter as much of it goes off your cheek bones.
I really love the texture of the blush, it goes on really well and evenly and once it's on you can't even feel it. It's light, not heavy at all but offers lovely colour all day without the need to re-touch or re-apply. Put it on in the morning and you're good to go. This is when used with a powder over your foundation or a powder/mineral foundation, when using liquid the blush sits on the surface of the skin and doesn't blend as nicely, so it's wort applying powder first.
The blush retails at £16 for a 0.3oz pot which is good value for a quality product such as this. You don't need much per appliation so the blush will last you a year minimum. You can buy the product from the official website at www.bareminerals.co.uk or alternatively, there's HQ hair, LookFantastic and Beauty Bay.
The sure sign of a great beauty product is when you start to notice copycats springing up all over the place. I'd seen it with the Stila lip glaze and the Benetint cheek stain, so when I started to notice all sorts of mineral makeup items popping up I knew there must be a great product out there I'd not discovered yet! Having tried the Maybelline mineral foundation and not been particularly impressed I wanted to try the 'original' range out for myself and I invested in a Bare Minerals starter set which included a foundation, the mineral veil, and the Mineral Blush in Hint.
Bare Minerals launched their first foundation in 1976, so mineral makeup products aren't exactly a new thing, just something that has only really become popular lately. Their selling point is that all their products are made from 100% pure crushed minerals and is free from preservatives, perfume, oil and any other nasties that could irritate your skin. Whenever you apply makeup to your face, rather than just sitting on your skin, 60% of it is actually absorbed into it, so it makes sense for your makeup to contain things that will be good to your skin and allow it to breathe. The minerals in it soothe and calm your skin and it's marketed as being "so pure that you can sleep in it". As someone who regularly goes to bed with their make-up on (shameful, I know!) this appealed to me a lot. Mineral makeup is great for all skin types, but particularly for oily skin, as the powder texture simply absorbs any excess oil on the skin.
Hint is one of Bare Escentuals most popular blush shades and is a brown/pink toned blush. It comes in a small pot with a black screw top lid. Once you remove the lid there is a plastic seal with small holes in - to use the product, you tap a small amount of the powder into the lid and then using your brush, swirl it around the lid picking up the powder, tap it to remove any excess, and then buff onto the cheeks. Bare Escentuals recommend using the Full Coverage Kabuki brush or the Taper Blush Brush to apply this - personally I find the Kabuki brush a bit too large to get the application I want from a blush, so I would recommend the Taper Blush Brush over this.
The texture is really lovely - like all Bare Minerals products it is lightweight, silky and feels like part of your own skin. I find to get the best out of the product it works far better with the Bare Minerals Foundation than with a liquid foundation, as the mineral powder textures work together. On a liquid foundation it works, but tends to look a little more like it's sitting on the surface of the skin, rather than blending in completely naturally.
The colour is nice - a pinky/brown which should suit most skin tones and gives a nice flush. It looks best applied to the apples of the cheeks as it's very much a 'just got in from the cold' type colour. My disappointment with the blush is the shimmer that is added to it which, to me, makes it look far from natural. If you like shimmer in your blush (and I know many people do, finding it gives them an extra glow) then you'll probably find this the perfect blush, but for me, the shimmer ruins the natural look that the Bare Escentuals Foundation achieves so well. I also find that it doesn't have too much staying power and will have disappeared from my face by lunchtime.
At £16 for 0.3oz, this is actually pretty good value, as you need to use so little of the product that a pot will last about a year. However, it's not one I'll be repurchasing as I'm really not a fan of the shimmer.
If you like your blushes shimmery, you can buy Bare Escentuals products from the Bare Minerals website at www.bareminerals.co.uk, Lookfantastic, Beauty Bay, and many other beauty websites.
