I got this as part of a set as a Today's Special value on QVC. You know what it's like, you're watching not intending to actually buy anything but they actually end up persuading you and before you know it your pressing that red button and you've ordered it!!! It came with a matching Bare Minerals Blush and I thought it would be nice to coordinate my blush and lipgloss for a change.
Bare Escentuals Buxom Lip Gloss is available on QVC and in Boots on the High Street for the whopping price of £18!!!! It's definitely at the high end scale as far as lip gloss is concerned. I personally wouldn't have bought just the lip gloss at that price. But as it was a TSV on QVC it worked out considerably cheaper.
It comes is a wide range of colours Amber, Dolly, Kanani, Dani, Brandi, Sugar, Katie, Trixie.
It claims to naturally create more fuller plumper lips by plumping what you've got! It comes in a long clear plastic tube with BUXOM lips written in silver along the tube. The lid is silver and and screws easily on and off. For the price the wand itself is nothing special or innovative. It's just your standard sponge applicator, no special shape like other brands offer these days.
When applied to the lips the colour is true to what's in the bottle but it feels very sticky. I hate sticky lip glosses, it really irritates me. As soon as you put it on you start to feel a fresh tingling sensation. This is supposed to be the plumping action taking effect. The tingling dies down very quickly which is good because I wouldn't wanna be walking around with tingly lips all day lol. I can honestly say though that I noticed no difference whatsoever in the plumpness of my lips. they looked exactly the same.
All in all I was very disappointed with the lip gloss. It's sticky, it doesn't plump and it's far too expensive. I wouldn't buy it again

I first tried Bare Minerals Buxom lip gloss in Lola (nude brown) after receiving it in a special edition kit. I've since gone on to buy Bambi (pink/peach) and some special edition glitter versions.
HOW TO USE
All the buxom lip glosses come in a clear tube, which is handy as you can clearly see the colour of the lip gloss from the outside. When you unscrew the lid the applicator pulls out. Some have a sponge tip applicator and some have a brush applicator. I find them both equally easy to use. Just apply the lip gloss directly to your lips.
As soon as you apply the product you can feel your lips tingle and can smell menthol. This is because there's actually menthol in the formula which is what gives your lips the 'buxom' effect. It's a bit like putting toothpaste on your lips! It's a strange but not an unpleasant sensation. As it's a gloss, it is sticky, but not overly so. I can vouch that your lips do actually look fuller, but you need to re-apply it every 2 hours or so. The colour it gives is quite subtle and sheer.
This product comes in a wide range of colours and as I've already mentioned, you can get ones with glitter in them which I find ideal for evening wear. Please note though that any you receive in kits may be limited editions. I received my lola colour in a kit and now it's running out I can't buy it separately to replace it.
VALUE FOR MONEY
I paid around £10 - £11 for a large tube that will probably last me several months, so I think it's good value for money. I used to wear juicy tubes by Lancome and they never lasted me very long.
As I wrote in a previous review, I'm a total Bare Escentuals convert, I absolutely adore all their products and they haven't let me down. The Buxom babes range is just as fantastic as the foundations!.
There's a series of glosses in all different shades, they're all very natural and beautiful colours to give you a perfect pout. They also contain menthol which leaves a tingly feeling on your lips and boosts them to maximum plumpness and gives you the glossiest lips around.
The main advantage of the Buxom babes lipglosses over other brands is how long lasting it is, a tube of this stuff will last you ages as you don't need to frequently re-apply it, it has great staying power. It also plumps your lips up naturally, without loads of harsh chemicals that other brands feature.
I adore all my Buxom lipglosses and wouldn't give them up for the world, I've converted so many of my friends over to the range and I can't sing its praises enough. Bare Escentuals make the best products out there and the fact that their lipglosses triumph (as well as the foundation) really stands as a testament to how great the brand is.
