Advantages: Looks natural and lasts a long time and is good for your skin
Disadvantages: Takes practise to master application
I was introduced to this foundation by a friend who used it all the time and said I HAD to try it 'cause it's just so fantastic. Eventually I gave in and bought a pot for £24 online. I also bought the brush to apply it with. It comes in a choice of 12 different colours from fair to deepest deep, so most skin tones are catered for. The one I have is the 3rd lightest shade which is called light, which was fine for during the summer when I had a bit of a tan, but I think for during the winter I could do with the next shade as this one has quite a yellow tinge to it which just looks wrong on my pale winter skin.
It's made of 100% pure minerals and is free from all the things in normal foundation which can irritate the skin or cause breakouts. It also has an SPF15 so if you wear this you don't necessarily need a moisturiser with sun protection in it.
The foundation comes in a little 9g pot with a black lid. Inside the pot there's a layer of plastic over the powder with little holes in it, so you have to shake a bit of powder out into the lid to use it. You swirl the brush round in the powder until it's picked it all up, tap off the excess, then buff it onto your skin with small circular movements.
The first few times I tried using this I thought it was rubbish because it looked really fake and obvious and didn't seem to give any coverage where I needed it. I told my friend who'd recommended it to me and she came over and showed me how to apply it properly, and it looked really good when she'd done it. It took a LOT of practice before I could get it to look good, but once I was used to applying it I was really happy with the results.
It looks really natural and no-one can tell you're wearing any foundation when you use this, it's great. It doesn't feel like you're wearing it either, and it doesn't clog your pores or cause spots or anything like that. I have combination skin which sometimes can get quite oily in the t-zone, but this foundation takes care of that and it stays oil-free all day. Once you get used to applying it you can get whatever level of coverage you need from it, so you can cover spots or eye bags easily, or if you have good skin anyway you can just put a bit on and have a really light coverage. It lasts really well and doesn't rub off or dry up or anything, you can wear it all day and it still looks as fresh as when you first applied it. I thought with it being a powder that it might look too powdery and matte, but it doesn't, it just looks like your skin only better!
Summary: A mineral foundation with SPF15 in it
