Advantages: Covers Blemishes, Great range of shades, Light feel

Disadvantages: Left a shine/sheen to my skin

I have read a few reviews about this product some good and some bad but I have also seen this product advertise on QVC, and I have to say that it looked great so I decided to try this product out for myself.

***ABOUT BARE MINERALS FOUNDATION***
You have probably seen many different mineral foundations advertised made by Maybelline, L'Oreal and other well known brands but Bare Minerals is the foundation that started the mineral make-up revolution. Bare Minerals foundation is SPF 15 and is free from oils, talc and other products which can irritate skin. This foundation is made with crushed minerals from the earth and provides great coverage from light to full, improves the condition of the skin over time, is weightless and is free from skin irritants and free from fillers and binders.

Bar Minerals foundation is like a powder which just buffs onto the skin and gives it a natural luminosity that stays put all day. All skin types can use this foundation and it provides fantastic coverage for every skin tone and colour. This SPF 15 foundation also carries the Skin cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation. This foundation comes in a great range of different shades including Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, Warm Tan, Deep and more colours.

***PRICE/AVALIABILITY***
This foundation is really big is the USA but is available over here in the UK from the following places.

* www.glowgirl.co.uk - They have 13 different shades on this website and will cost you £22.99.
* www.beautybay.com - On here they have 11 different shades and it costs £20.99 for a 9g pot of this.
* www.ebay.co.uk - There are many shops on eBay who are selling this brand new and sealed you may also be able to get this from there as well.

I purchased a 2g pot of Fairly Light foundation from eBay which was brand new and sealed and cost me £6.29 which was a Buy It Now Price. I didn't want to buy a bigger pot of this as I just wanted to text it for myself to see how good it really was.

***USING THE FOUNDATION***
This foundation comes in a round plastic jar with a black screw lid. As you unscrew the lid you can see a shaker thing in the jar which deposits a nice amount of the foundation into the lid when shaken upside down.

I also bought an application brush to apply this foundation as well as buffed it onto my skin. On a few websites they say you should dip the brush into the foundation so it sits well in between the bristles of the brush, then tap off the excess and buff onto the skin in circular movements. I did a technique similar to this but I would use which-ever technique you are comfortable with.

I was surprised at how dark the fairly colour looked in the jar but when dipping my brush into the foundation it looked a lot lighter than it does in the jar. After buffing some of this onto my skin, I noticed that there were less visible blemishes than before. I continued to apply this to my face and stood back to look at the finished result.

This foundation definitely covered up a lot more blemishes then some other foundations and it did feel very light on my skin and not as thick as other foundations such as liquid foundation which I tend to use nearly every day. I noticed there was a slight sheen/shiny look to my skin as well which I wasn't too sure about as this wasn't something I was used to, how-ever I kept this make-up on to see how it would last through-out the day.

***FINAL RESULTS***
Although this make up lasted all day and felt very light on my face and covered most of my blemishes I didn't really like the sheen/shine look it gave to my face. This isn't something I'm used to and I think this sheen/shine made it look like I had a lot of make up on than normal which I wasn't really comfortable with. I'm quite pale on the face and I went for a fairly light colour but I think I should have got slightly darker as I would have preferred a bit of a sun-kissed look rather than a pale look to my skin.

***OVERALL OPINION***
This foundation is something I will use when I can't be bothered to put all my make-up on, but I definitely wouldn't use this when going to work or when going for a night out on the town as I didn't really like it. This product is great as its very light and does cover blemishes and they have a huge range of shades available which is great for different skin tones and types. When I run out of this foundation I won't be in a rush to buy anymore of this. I would suggest you to try it as I have read other reviews and other people think this is an amazing foundation but it just didn't work for me. I was quite disappointed with this product.

(Review will also be on ciao)

Summary: A light-weight foundation that looks like a powder but covers like a liquid foundation.

Well the price you paid was definitely good, but as I'm very pale too, I'd steer clear of this. x

Second review I've read on this today and both offered very conflicting opinions. That's what's so great about Dooyoo. Excellent sum up :)

I thought the same thing about it giving a sheen to my skin. Expensive when I think there are better alternatives. Great review. x
