The best foundation ever (Bare Escentuals i.d. Bareminerals Foundation)
Member Name: greysanatomyfan
Advantages: Great coverage, suitable for oily and sensitive skin Disadvantages: Can get a bit messy at times I have been using Bare Escentuals bare minerals foundation now for almost a year and cannot recommend it highly enough! I suffer from very oily skin with frequent breakouts, which is very upsetting at the age of 29! However since switching to this foundation my skin has improved a lot. The foundation itself comes in a wide range of colours, so I would advise you to go along to a department store with a bare minerals counter first to get your colour matched up. Selected Debenhams and House of Fraser stores have counters. I have quite pale skin, with blue eyes and dark hair. Left to my own devices I would have purchased the light foundation so I'm glad I went along to a bare minerals counter as my colour is actually fairly light. To use this foundation you also need some good brushes as there is a special technique to applying it. I would recommend the bare escentuals flawless face brush for light to medium coverage and either a kabuki brush or the bare escentuals full flawless face brush for medium to heavy coverage. You apply it using the swirl, tap and buff method. The foundation comes in pots, so take off the screw lid, tap a light dusting of foundation into the lid (like chocolate powder on a cappuccino), swirl your brush into the minerals, tap off the excess on the edge of the lid and buff the minerals onto your face in circular motions, starting from the outside pressing quite firmly. You can apply extra layers for added coverage. The foundation also has spf 15 which is an added bonus. Make sure your face is completely dry before applying it and that any moisturiser you've applied has soaked in first. This foundation is ideal for all skin types, in particular sensitive skin as it only contains pure crushed minerals from the earth. The foundation can leave you with a 'glowy' look that some people love. If, like me you prefer a matt finish it's best to use the bare minerals mineral veil over the top. As the foundation is mineral, it can be a bit messy at times, but I think the results are well worth it. For me, I find it's the best foundation for covering redness and blemishes and it lasts all day long. Although it may seem quite expensive a large 9g pot lasts me about 8 months with daily usage, so it's well worth the money. It doesn't go off after a set period either. It's so pure you can sleep in it so I don't bother taking it off at night! Summary: If you want foundation that's good for your skin and gives great coverage look no further! |
