Barry M Blusher in Raspberry
Advantages: great price - lasts ages - 6 shades to choose from
Disadvantages: this one doesnt blend as well as the other shades if light skinned
I am a fond lover of Barry M products especially the dazzle dust eye shadow pots - I have loads of them to experiment with. What makes Barry M that bit different from other make up brands is the energetic bright colours they offer in a range of eye shadows, lip sticks, eye shadows and nail varnish. In particular I love their blushers which stands out a bit more than others.
The blusher I am reviewing today is the Raspberry one - which is the darkest pink one in my opinion.
The design of the blusher is very simple and cute - the blusher powder sits in the black container in a rectangular shape - and this is the perfect sized section to use with the tiny included blush brush which sits in its own compartment under this.
There is a transparant lid over the top of this which opens and closes over the black compartment by a hinge at the top. The transparant lid tells you the product is blusher and comes from the Barry M range - and is decorated in black swirls and flower patterns which looks great over the see through lid with the pink blusher showing underneigh.
On the back of the blusher it tells you the product has a total shelf life of 12 months and contents come to 7 grams.
This particular blush is the hottest pink in the Barry M collection and can be easily sweeped up using the included blush brush. There is a mild Talc scent with the product which kind of reminds me of old lady make up...
You don't get given any information on contents of this blusher but one thing I liked when researching the product was finding it contains vitamin E - which is great for keeping skin in great and healthy condition.
The actual ingredients included in the product are :
TALC, MICA, BIS-HYDROXYETHOXYPROPYL DIMETHICONE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, FRAGRANCE, METHYL PARABEN, PROPYL PARABEN, AMYL CINNAMAL, HEXYL CINNAMAL, LINALOOL, BUTYLPHENYL METHYLPROPIONAL [+/- CI15850:1, CI77891, CI15850:2, CI73360, CI19140:1, CI15985:1, CL77499, CI77492, CI77491]

I heard a saying once that darker haired people should go for the more redder shades and blonde haired people to go for the pinker shades... Me being blonde with that saying is what attracted me to the bright shades of Barry M. However I am very light skinned and didn't think about how much this particular shade would stand out on my skin when I purchased it. It stands out like a sore thumb... and due to the lightness of my skin I feel it doesn't blend into my normal face powder as well as I expect. However I have had a lighter shade from this range and had no issues so believe its just happened due to the darker shade so have no real complaints other than the fact its too dark for me.
The great thing about these blushers is they really can last ages before you need another one - I have had this 6 months and use sparingly maybe one a week and I would say I have only used the top layer so far.
Availability and price
Barry M is widely available now through Boots and Superdrug mainly as well as online outlets such as Amazon - the cheapest I have found the blushers is at Tesco.com at £4.59.
The Barry M blushers come in six colours - which are all different shades of pink.
Summary: great range try the shades before you buy
