Advantages: High pigment, cute packaging, long lasting, smooth & blendable
Disadvantages: messy, no brush included, difficult for beginners, no matte colours
-Availability-
I get mine from Superdrug, Boots, even Topshop. Ebay, obviously for some killer deals and other cheaper makeup websites too I'm sure
-Packaging-
It comes in a very professional 'belongs in a makeup artist's bag' little pigment pot. I like it, it looks neat and it's small and compact to fit in any bag. The only trouble is it doesn't include an applicator and i suppose a sifter on top would be nice as well to make it less messy..
-Does it work?-
Yes!!! It's highly pigmented. If you use primer (I don't) it stays on your eye all day. If you use the darker colours as an eyeliner (which I do) it stays on perfectly for ages! The pigment is great, it blends, the powder is pretty smooth.
-First Use-
I first tested out a rusty gold colour, I think it was old rust. I swirled my flat, thin brush over the lid and tapped it a few times before beginning application.
I've never used mac pigments or any other pigments before so I was quite unsure. It was a bit messy and didn't go on very even- the colour was very intense at the beginning but faded as I dragged my brush. It's also a little difficult to control. Bits of pigment went on my eyelashes and down my face which I had to clean up afterwards.
The effect was really bold and nice and I liked it. I put my pressed eyeshadow underneath it so that the sponge applicators wouldn't get dirty and it worked well and was blendable. Overall I was really impressed!
-Advantages-
Versatile. Amazing things can be done with this (if only I had the skills...) Blendable, intense colour (high pigment), smooth, cute packaging, GREAT colour range available!
-Disadvantages=
Messy, requires extrenal brush(es) to apply, application difficult for beginners
I am aware that the name is dazzle dust but I wish they had some matte colours because I find those so much easier to work with!
-Conclusion-
I love buying these even though I'm not very good at using them... They're addictive! I own several pots and use them on special occasions when I feel like I should spice up my make up.
Although the vibrant colours are exciting I suggest you buy some more natural colours to begin with because much as they look lovely on paper they don't always go with your skintone!
Also, when purchasing brushes (esp eyeliner brushes) -if you don't own some already- may i suggest you raid your local craft store- much is to be unearthed! they're a lot cheaper than quality cosmetic brushes and do the job just as well! I'd check out some cosmetic brushes and choose some of the same shape.
The Mac 239 for example, is legendary: http://preview.tinyurl.com/5bfst8
And the mac 208, a small angled brush is great for using dazzle dusts as powder eyeliner:

Summary: Worth your money! Professional make up and drugstore price
