Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None at all I can think of!
I love the range that is Barry M however when it came to buying a glitter dust just the name of it put me off to be honest. I like when applying make up to be reasonably simple. I'm almost 35 years old and I feel that although I can be a little experimental with my make up I do need to be careful! So when I saw this in my local Boots for £4.40 a pot (in about 5 shades though I know more are available) I really thought it was time to give it a whirl and my... was I shocked by this product!
The Packaging....
Small glass pot with screw on/off lid to the top of it and on that in dark pink writing I'm told it is Fine Glitter Dust By Barry M and the website details are shown. On the bottom of the pot I'm simply told my colour is 15 and that's that. Simple pot, and I do like the small size although it contains alot of product and could last me years lol!
Using It....
Well when you first twist off the lid your met by your chosen colour of course. It sits on top of a salt cellar type of tray (holes) and is as promised a glitter dust that is really pearlescent.
Now although highly glittery and in a loose powder form this doesn't have any fragrance to it and is as soft as velvet to the touch so great on my really sensitive eyes and very easy to wear and forget it's there.
I was also chuffed to bits about how easy it is to apply. It's like this.... if you have common sense you will use a very good quality brush and gently dip it into the colour and apply where you want to and gradually and slowly add the colour till you achieve your desired effect. However if you splodge it on it's going to flake and create shimmer all over your face! So I advise you with this to take your time as the results are so worth it and of course although this is a eye dust really it is suitable to dab on your lips and on your cheeks etc too!
I find this really easy to use indeed and not one bit messy. If your worried about sprinkles going where they shouldn't then simply but a coat of translucent loose powder under your eyes so when finished you can brush it off with any extra glitter dust which may have flaked off! Simple.
If I want a reasonably sheer look I just don't apply too much and away I go. If I do I build the colour up or/and on top of a eye make up primer to give the colour real intensity.
The results are really great and in my view these dusts are suitable for women of any age to experiment with because with these colours you can be rather outrageous with odd colour combinations but if like me you just want a bit of sparkle then go easy and use it as a highlighter along with your usual eye make up products or dab a little on your lips.
This is just very easy to use, kind to the eyes (and skin in general) and can be used for a slightly sparkly day time look or for a really intense night of partying if desired!
Once on my face I find them to not fade or go patchy for about 6-7 hours so good for a night out! They remove easily when you want to however when on my eyes I find it doesn't smudge or anything like that. It's just a really hard working, sparkly shimmery and entirely classy glitter that I can't recommend to you enough. If your worried about a product such as this don't be. I've tried many similar offerings over the years and this really does show them all superiority...it's just a great, must have product!
Summary: I can't wait to collect more from this range!
