I am a big fan of Barry M and in particular of their nail paint so I was excited to see a new addition to the range in the form of 'Gelly' nail paint, which promises a high shine finish!

This costs £3.99, which is slightly more than their bog standard nail paints which are £2.99 each. However there was an offer on in Boots with all make up 3 for 2 so it worked out pretty well. Barry M often have their own offers on too so look out for them.

The colours in this new range are limited, maybe 4 or 5 (I think blue, green, purple, red and maybe another one), but they are lovely rich autumnal colours, perfect for the season! I chose the red one (called blood orange but basically just a very bright red) and the green one which is a lovely unusual shade of dark green.

As always with Barry M nail paint I found it easy to apply, it glides on easily, the brush is great and it is the perfect consistency. It definitely needs two coats but once you have done the second coat the colour is fabulous.

As for the high shine well yes I can say that my nails were very shiny indeed! I'm not convinced by how much more shiny than the standard nail paint they were as I always find it quite shiny anyway, but my nails certainly did look very glossy and I adored both the colours I have tried.

I actually also found that they nail paint lasted really well. I normally can only make any type of nail varnish look good for 3 days max, before it becomes really chipped, but with this I found that 5 days in it was still looking pretty good with minimal chipping and wearing.

Think I now need to give the other colours a whirl!
