I love Barry M Glitter Nail Varnish - this is one of my favourite glitter nail varnishes. It is the best for the multi coloured sparkle effect rather than just a silver glitter. And it also feels smooth unlike other glitters which can feel very rough sometimes which is not what you want. But it also can have big bits of glitter for a slightly more unique look which i think looks amazing on top of pretty much any colour nail varnish possible!
There are so many different colours or effects to choose from i think there really is something for everybody.
Costing around £2.99, it is not an expensive brand but also lasts longer than some of the cheaper options out there. Most of the time, you can find it on offers such as 3 for 2 or buy one get one half price in Boots or Superdrug which means you can get many different colours from the extensive range that Barry M have!
Only main issue is that it is very hard to get off (as most glitter is) but i do think it is worth the pain of trying to rub off. But i have found that it peels off a lot more easily than using nail varnish remover!!
i always make sure to stock up as it does last pretty well and makes the colour underneath last a bit longer as well.
If you are looking for a glittery nail varnish, this is definitely worth a buy!

I like to mix and match my make-up and I have some premium make-up and some from much cheaper brands. With some things it pays to spend a bit more but sometimes the cheaper brands are just as good.
I love Barry M nail polishes as they are super cheap and come in a variety of different colours and effects. The glitter nail is one of my favourite party looks and something that I go for on a night out when I am expected to dress up like at Christmas parties because it just adds a bit of fun to my nails.
It also looks really pretty too. There are loads of different colours to choose from in the glitter nail range so you can find the perfect colour to match your outfit and each colour has loads of small flecks of glitter in it.
Glitter nail polish sounds a bit tacky but it actually looks lovely on and the glitter is small enough that it doesn’t look ‘DIY’ and it catches the light lovely and gives a really nice effect on my nails. Obviously I wouldn’t wear it to the office but It is lovely for a fun party look.
It is really easy to apply to my nails and it doesn’t take forever to dry. Once it has dried it is really quite strong and doesn’t flake or chip easily. I love the fact that it is so cheap too as I can buy myself loads of different colours without feeling guilty. Each glitter nail polish costs £2.99 and even better if you buy it in Boots they have 3for2 loads so you can get three of them for only £5.98 which is a bargain.
I am always a bit dubious about wearing anything with glitter. It isn’t that I don’t love glitter because I do and done well it can look so glamorous and pretty. Unfortunately done badly it can look a right mess.
The glitter nail paints from Barry M are fabulous and so inexpensive that you can afford to treat yourself to a few different colours. They are perfect for the Christmas party season as they are very festive and add a bit of sparkle to your nails.
The range of colours is great and they look so gorgeous on my nails. There is so much glitter in them that the first time that I used them I was convinced that they were going to be so difficult to apply but they were really easy and went on my nails fine and no more difficult than any other polish.
They dry quite quickly and when dry they look glossy and sparkly. Don’t be scared when looking at the bottle that there is too much glitter in it because it isn’t actually as glittery as it looks. The glitter spreads across the nail so it gives sparkle and glamour but it doesn’t look too outrageous.
You can of course build up the colour if you want by applying a few coats and this looks great too but then it really amps up the glitter. One coat is enough for an even coverage and loads of added sparkle but if you want your nails completely covered in glitter then you will need at least two coats and maybe even three. It just depends on what you want but the option is there to be as subtle or adventurous as you want.
The nail polish lasts an ok time but it does tend to chip after a couple of days but for one night it looks fabulous. I personally don’t want to be wearing glitter nail polish all the time anyway so I only want to wear it for parties and nights out.
It is such a good price too as they cost £2.99 and are often on special offer too so you can pick two of them up for £5 a lot of the time.
I have got loads of Barry M polishes, but one of my favourites is the gold chunky glitter Aquarium nail paint. It is a gold glitter suspended in clear and works fabulously in nail art.
Since owning this for a fair few months I have used it on nails and toes and done full manicures with it, accent nails, nail tips as well and then I found my favourite use... a leopard print nail!
I paint the nail with a base coat, then a couple of coats of nude colour and then dab with a gold foil, outline them partially with black or dark brown then using the brush from this bottle dab on some of the chunky glitter on the leopard spots, it works a treat and makes them look three D but not at all over the top!
Removal of this polish does take some effort, it has to be said. Your easiest option is to buy those pots with the sponge in and twist the nail around or do a soak off or just scrub away with a cotton wool pad, it works eventually.
I paid the full asking price of £3.99 for this polish. Barry M are such a reasonably priced range, often with a 3 for 2 offer on in the shops too if you time your trip right.
I highly recommend the gold glitter from Barry M, you get a great quality polish for such a low price and it makes for some really versatile looks.
I bought four of these Barry M Glitter nail polishes in the summer as part of a 4 for £10 Superdrug offer. There is lots of choice from this range when it comes to colours and I chose red, blue, purple and silver. All of the ones I have consist of a 10ml bottle of clear nail polish containing coloured glitter particles. The glitter pieces in the red, blue and purple ones are very small in size whereas the silver one contains a mixture of small and large glitter which makes this one a bit different. The glitter in the silver one also shines all different colours when it catches the light. I like the fact the glitter pieces are quite small as polishes containing larger pieces can look a bit garish.
The application of these nail varnishes is very easy as, unlike with a solid colour, it doesn't show up if you are a bit uneven or slow with your technique. The brushes are soft and the bristles don't splay out to wide when applying so the varnish just glides on. They are quick to dry and I haven't encountered any mushiness when applying more than one coat. And you really do need more than one coat if just applying these on their own. I would say a minimum of three or four is needed to get a decent glitter effect. You are also recommended to add a base coat first so this is a bit of effort that is required. I find it works much better to add a base coat of colour first and then use a glitter coat or two on top as this looks really effective and just as good. You can mix and match glitters too - at the moment on my toes I used solid red colour, a red glitter layer on top and then a silver glitter layer and they look fab and festive.
I usually only paint my toe nails and don't do my finger nails very often. On toes, these glitter polishes are great and last ages. I haves used the silver one on my fingers and it lasted about 1 day, max two days, before looking a bit shabby but this is pretty standard for nail varnish in general.
As with all glitter polish, it is a bit annoying to try and remove it. You have to give your nails quite a good scrub and the cotton wool sometimes catches in the glitter. Obviously the more coats you have on, the harder it is to get off again (another reason why a I like to add a base coat of colour and then only one or two glitter layers). I'm not bothered about this issue on my toes but it might bother people who like to paint their finger nails quite often.
In summary, I think these glitter polishes are a nice range of products for adding a little bit of sparkle - perfect for the festive/new year period.
I love Barry M nail varnish and wasn't disappointed with the glitter version. It looks amazing for a night out and stays on really well. It does feel rough to the touch and can be difficult to remove but it looks brilliant.
I made the mistake of buying barry m glitter nail paint in three different colours the last time i took a trip into town. They were priced at just under £3 each, which at the time i considered to be quite a bargain for such an eyecatching range of nail varnishes in these beautiful gem- like colours.
The glitter nail paints go on exceptionally easily and without mess, especially when layered on top of a plain colour and used like a glittery top coat. The downside is that after only one day of wearing this nail warnish to work it was chipped badly on every single nail. By the end of the day, my nails looked awful.
I work at a local school, so the job is not 'manual' and therefore my nail varnish always lasts well for days at a time. This was not the case with any of the three barry m polishes.
I ended up taking the three i bought back to the store. The colours ae beautiful, and your nails will look gorgeous right after application, but don't be fooled.
The Barry M Glitter Nail Polishes come in 10 shades:
They are available at Boots for £2.99 but are usually on offer as part of a 3 for 2 deal which is great if you're planning on picking up a few of the shades.
You can pick them up cheaper from other places such as Amazon too but if you're wanting to physically see the shades before you buy them, you can't beat a good wander of the Boots (or Superdrug) isles.
I personally own both Rose Quartz and Amethyst and they are both beautiful.
Rose Quartz is a pink based glitter with bits of silver glitter in and Amethyst is a black/very dark blue with silver and coloured glitters.
The nail polishes are made up of lots of different sized chunks of glitter an can be used alone or as a glitter topcoat.
Used alone, I have found that it takes about three coats to get an even, opaque finish. As a top coat, you can just give one quick layer to add a bit of something over a plain colour. It also looks pretty used on one nail as an accent.
The polishes last for about three days without chipping, so not the longest wearing but even then, the chips are not obvious due to the glitter finish.
I would not recommend using a top coat over the top of the glitter polishes because it has a tendency to make them peel off in one if you catch your nails on something.
On the removal front, they can be a bit of a pain to remove, taking quite a few cotton pas with nail polish remover on them, but I find all glitter nail polishes to be quite stubborn anyway so this doesn't bother me too much.
I'm hoping to pick up the Copper glitter soon because it looks lovely online.
At £2.99 or less, I don't think you can really go wrong with Barry M's Glitter Nail Polishes. For the price you pay, they are of impressive quality and I would definitely recommend them to add a bit of sparkle to any occasion.
Most of my nail polish collection are glitter colours so I knew I was going to love this one. I love Barry M glitter nail polish range they are affordable and have a wide range of colours. What attracted me to this nail polish in particular was the gold/green colour which sparkles and stands out when you wear it on it own or over another nail colour. Over the past few months I've bought this colour three times because I have become addicted to the colour and refuse to change my nail colour. The only negatives I find with the product is firstly that because this is a glitter nail polish it will take longer to remover so I would suggest a more high quality nail polish remover and secondly I've had to apply more than one layer of top coat to keep the nail polish from coming off too soon.
We all know that Barry M is a master when it comes to nail polishes. So it was no surprise when i brought this that it would not fail me. I am absolutely in love with the ease it has in order to apply nail polish.. I honestly believe this is the best nail polish I have ever encounter and i'm sure that you will ever encounter.
The pigmentation despite it being glitter in a clear solution is truly amazing. Applying it to your nails is an absolute definite that many people will be flocking to see what it is that's on them as it is an eye catcher for sure. You could also apply this on top of another polish to give it a glamorous effect. The longevity of this product is great as well, it has stayed on longer than some of my designer nail polishes such as MAC and Marc Jacobs.
For the price of it you cannot go wrong and I would encourage you to buy it as you will be pleasantly surprised.I have never known this polish to chip and so it is one of my most trustworthy nail polishes. There is a good range of different colors for the glitter nail polishes so therefore you are very like to find something that appeals to you. Here's a little tip apply twice to give the appearance of a full nail glitter paint.
I love Barry M nail varnishes, I have a large collection, and have four of the glitter types, as there are so many colours to choose from, and they are all so pretty.
These glitter nail varnishes are easy to apply, only needing two coats of the glitter for a full coverage; unlike other brands where you have to keep applying and applying to fill in the gaps. The even covarage makes your nails very sparkly, and thus is a great accessory for parties.
Also, Barry M nail varnishes dry very quickly, so you can start using your hands again without fear of ruining your nails or furniture!
However, there is the disadvantage of I find this glitter nail varnish very difficult to take off, even with a bottom clear coat applied. Nail varnish remover seems to take the colour off the glitter, and leaves half of the glitter stuck to your nails! So I normally have to spend longer taking it off, then I did putting it on and waiting for it to dry! Usually I end up picking most of the nail varnish off (which you aren't supposed to do!). But at least this shows you how durable the nail varnish is, and that it cannot be easily scratched or peeled off when doing daily chores.
Finally, the price is very reasonable for such great nail varnish!
Since I finally managed to stopped biting my nails, they have been able to grow and have now got long enough to be polished with some pretty colours! I am a big beauty blog following and what all the blogs have in common is the use of Barry M Nail Polish, so I knew I had to get some.
When polishing my nails, I like to be a bit different and not have all my nails the same, and one design I have really liked is using a glitter nail polish on the "ring" finger nail. After shopping around the make up isle in Boots, I found myself drawn to the pretty glitter polishes that were displayed on the Barry M stand, and it wasn't long until a gold glitter one was in my basket. The prices on these vary from store to store, but I bought mine on offer for 2 for £5.00 which I was happy to pay (I also bough a plain colour too).
On first looks, it looks like this polish is filled to the top of glitter, however when applied to your nail, it spreads and separates, leaving speckles but not totally covered as I had hoped. I had to keep applying it, and probably did a good 3/4 coats for my nail to be mostly covered, but it depends on how you want your nails to look. If you just want a little sparkle to your nails, then one coat would do the job.
I really liked this polish. It looked best over a coloured polished, which is mostly how I have worn it. It dries pretty fast and it didn't peal off which most polishes do, and came off easily when took off with nail varnish remover.
Nice for a night out!
I found this product in Boots and thought I would try it for going to a Christmas Eve party. The glitter itself is a gold colour with coloured bits mixed in.. they have various different colours to choose from in the shops but I thought gold would have been nice for christmas. I put normal polish on then the glitter on top of that.
It takes quite a few coats for the polish to actually show up.. I had to apply 3 coats for the glitter to be bright enough for me.
The negative thing about this product was ..when I came to remove it , it took me such a long time to get the polish off.. I certainly won't be using this product again in a hurry.. must have taken me at least 10 minutes or so to try and remove it. It was very hard to remove.
I am always attracted to the barry m selection when in boots and have bought 2 different colours of the barry m glitter nail varnish. It takes 3 coats to get the desired look, but that is fine as it dries pretty instantly. The only issue I have is that if you wish your nails to look good for an occassion, you pretty much need to paint them 5 minutes before. I painted my nails on 23rd december evening just before bed, ready for xmas day, and 36 hours later, I got up on xmas morning and they looked awful as they chipped and most of my nails only had half the polish left on them! To sum up, it looks absolutely fabulous for almost 1 day, but any time longer than that and theyve chipped A LOT! I will still continue to use and buy this nail polish, I just won't have high expectations for how long it will stay on my nails.
I have always got on well with Barry M polishes and the glitter ones are no exception. The brush is large enough for easy application but small enough that I don't end up painting all my cuticles too - I have a TINY nail on each pinkie finger so this is a big plus for me!
The colour lasted well - 2 days before chipping and probably would have lasted longer with a top coat. The glitter was a nightmare to remove but I think that is a common complaint with all glitter polishes. I recommend the tin foil method - wrap each nail in tissue soaked in nail varnish remover, hold in place with tin foil and leave on your fingers for 10 to 15 minutes.
I really liked the range of colours available. So far I have a blue, red and silver and I will be buying more soon.
