Barry M is one of my favourite brands of cosmetics & I absolutely love their range of nail varnishes.
There's a huge choice of colours available ranging from pastels and neons to metallics and I've tried most of them. I recently noticed that their was a glitter version of the nail polish in Superdrug, which I'd never noticed before so I am assuming that it's quite new on the market. I loved how sparkly it looked and decided to buy a couple to try.
There were quite a lot of colours to choose from including gold, pink, silver, black, red, blue & so on and I opted for one gold and one red. I will definitely be buying a few of the other colours when I'm next in Superdrug though! I paid £2.99 for each nail varnish and each one contains 10ml of product, which is excellent value in my opinion. The nail varnish can be purchased from a wide range of shops including Boots and Superdrug and websites such as ASOS and Amazon sell it too.
It is also available for purchase on the official Barry M website. The nail varnish comes in a transparent glass bottle, meaning that the gorgeous, sparkly polish can be seen through it - it looks amazing and really stands out from the rest of my nail varnishes! The bottle is very good quality and not at all cheap feeling/looking. The branding is quite minimal with just the brand and product name written on the front in gold writing.
The bottle has a screw-on lid which has the wand and brush attatched to it. The brush is a good size and the fibres are soft and very well compacted which ensures neat application. The nail varnish itself is just the right consistency - quite thick but not so thick that it feels heavy or like a thick layer. The glitter parcticles aren't messy or too chunky and there's lots of them, so the finish is extremely high shine and gorgeous!
One coat definitely isn't enough as it's sheer with just speckles of glitter and it looks washed out and quite tacky but after three coats it looks flawless and the finish is to professional standards. The nail varnish dries reasonably quickly - within a minute or so and the glitter stays in place with no fall out. The texture of my nails feels quite gritty when I've got this on, rather than being smooth but I find that a top coat helps minimalize the gritiness.
Both of the colours that I have are gorgeous - really vibrant and glitzy and I've had numerous compliments on my nails when wearing it. I especially like the gold shade as it's really Christmassey (not sure if that's a word!) and it just looks gorgeous. I've been wearing the gold shade since last Saturday (almost a week) and it looks a little chipped around the edges but not too bad so the lasting power is pretty good.
Overall, this is a really good quality & excellent value for money nail varnish. It's eye catching, long lasting and there's an impressive range of colours to choose from. I highly recommend it and I give it five out of five stars.
