***BARRY M NAIL COLOUR/VARNISH***
Barry M sells a wide range of nail paint's and other products. Their paint's range from every colour you can think of from Pastel's to Neon colours and also Glitter paints too. Their latest addition to their nail range was called Nail Effects, Crackle. These paints give a professional finish to your nails and create some beautiful effects. I came across their new nail effects range when looking online on their website for a specific colour. I am a huge fan of Barry M nail paints as I love their colours and I find the nail paints hard wearing and long lasting. I also think they are very good value, both on the website and in shops. A few weeks ago I saw a girl with some beautiful metallic looking nails which were silver. I thought this might be something Barry M does so started the hunt on their website.

***INSTANT NAIL EFFECTS - FOIL***
When I first saw the paints on the website I thought they looked great and I had to have the silver one. They currently only do silver & gold in this range, so I thought I may as well get both colours. They cost me £2.99 from www.barrym.com . I haven't yet seen them available to buy in stores such as Boots, how-ever I'm sure this is something that will be on the shelves in store soon and will probably retail at the same price. The nail paints come in a glass bottle with lid the match the colour of the paint. For example the silver colour had a matt silver lid and then the gold had a matching matt gold lid. When looking at the colour through the glass in the bottle, it looked more of a matt colour rather than the metallic coloured shine I was looking for; how-ever I was still sure that these would look great.

***APPLYING THE COLOUR***
I always apply a base coat before applying any colour; this is to protect the nail and to stop it from going dis-coloured from the strong colours you may use on your nails. I decided to go for the silver colour and gave the bottle a good shake ready to apply the product. I applied the paint to my nail and let it dry. The colour came out looking very Matt and applied to my nails very easily. Although one coat covered the nail very well, I decided to give all my nails a second coat, so it looked better and that the colour would last longer. I always find with Barry M paints that the smell isn't as strong as some other nail paints, yes there is still a strong chemical smell but not as much as there normally is.

***RESULTS***
After I had applied a 2nd coat to all my nails I held my hands out in front of me and looked at them. I loved the colour. The silver gave a lovely matt finish and looked really smooth on my nails. They weren't too metallic looking and would look great for a Christmas party or for a night out on the town. I kept the colour on for most of the week and I was very impressed at how long lasting this was. The colour itself didn't chip at all. After about 4-5 days the colour on the tips of my nails had slightly worn off, how-ever this could easily be touched up again. I had a few people comment on my nails and ask where I got the varnish from as they really liked it and had never seen a colour like it before.

***OVERALL OPINION***
Although this is only available in Gold & Silver, they are perfect for this time of year now Christmas is creeping up. They will make your nails looks festive and look great when going out on the town. I haven't yet seen any other brands stock nail paint like this one. There may be silver & gold nail paints, but they don't give a matt looking finish like the Barry M ones. I also think this paint is hard wearing and long lasting. I will definitely be using this again, especially over the Christmas period. My sister commented on the varnish so I'll be buying her some too.
