I have been a long time fan of Barry M nail varnish as they quite literally come in any colour you could imagine, they look great and most importantly they are cheap. So a couple of months ago when i read about the new 'Barry M Nail Effects' i had to try it out. And it did not disapoint :)

~Useful Info~

Colours: Black Magic, White Forest, Blue Print, Pink Fizz & Gold Glitter.

(I own Black magic and Pink Fizz so thats what this reveiw is based on)

~ How To Use~

Step 1: Clip, file and buffer nails and apply a basecoat evenly to avoid staining your nails.

Step 2: Allow basecoat to dry before applying your chosen colour of NORMAL nail varnish. (When using the black version of this i found that a bright basecolour looks the best however when using the pink it didn't look so great and i would reccomend using a darker colour like black. But it's best to experiment and see what you like)

Step 3: Allow the base colour to dry and apply the nail effects over the top using single strokes without overlapping. IMPORTANT: If you overlap the nail effects it wont work so make sure you take your time and use single strokes (it took me a few goes to get it right, so give yourself enough time to practice)

~What I Thought~

After using the nail effects as i described above, within seconds the nail effects did look just like cracked nail varnish exposing the colour underneath. My nails looked really funky and different and definitley made me stand out. As i mentioned above it did take a few practice goes for me to get it right as if you overlap it your nails just go black, but now i've got the nack its really quick and easy to use and i can get a proffessional looking nail art manicure in minutes. I would definitley reccomend the nail effects, particularly to young people who like really bright, different looking nails that will make you stand out.
