*** BOOTS SAYS ***
Barry M Instant Nail Effects is a simple to use nail paint that creates this amazing effect on your nails in one simple stroke.
£3.99
***THE PRODUCT***
The product is a small nail varnish available in Black, Pink, Blue, Purple, White, Silver, Gold and Bronze. The colours are all very bright and vibrant and product a very "matte" effect rather than shiny. The Bronze silver and gold are Metallic colours though and are very shiny and sparkle. You get a small leaflet with each bottle that explains how to apply the varnish.
***USAGE***
The idea is that you paint on an overall colour with another varnish, wait for it to dry and then apply the Instant Nail Effects varnish over the top. You paint it on as if it were a normal nail varnish but I would recommend using a generous amount of varnish and not scraping any off, then painting one coat. You have to do each nail pretty quickly in one stroke or two because it dries very quickly and you can achieve a better result doing one nail all in one go.
Once painted it looks like your nail has gone all that colour, within around 10 seconds the varnish dries and "shrinks" into a messy effect including streaks and blobs.
The effect has been seen and made popular by celebrities wearing them like this in movies and at events but in the paper. The effect can also be produced by using foils and sprays but this usually done in a salon and can take more money, time and effort (and skill!!!).
***MY OPINION***
I am very impressed with the product and the effect you can create looks like you've had some pretty good styles done by the salon. As said above it's best to do one coat with a generous amount of varnish to create the best effect. It's not everybodies cup of tea and it can look "messy" but really that's the idea! Some colours that go well together are black and white, black and gold/silver. Black more or less goes with everything but you can create pretty wacky styles like pink and purple or green and black. It's a lot easier than using foils or sprays and you can be very creative.
As well as mixing colours to create styles you can also create effects by choosng whether to apply a clear top coat or not. There are so many possibilities with these nail varnishes and for that reason I have to say it's a great value for money product.
As another note, they are usually only £2.99 in superdrug and you can get further discounts if you have a student card too.
The quality of the product is very good, it's very thick and the colours are very strong and vibrant. They also do not chip very quickly or easily and last a long time.
Summary: would definitely recommend this product.
