I feel like I've just about reviewed everything in my make up bag (sigh of relief) but there are a few more things to go (groan)! I realise I seem to have absolutely loads of make up. But what can I say, I'm a girl... I have already reviewed my liquid eyeliner and my kohl pencil but this is the last eyeliner I have to review, I swear!!
As I said I use kohl eyeliner most of the time, and liquid eyeliner when I go out. I tend to use liquid on my top lid and then one of these Barry M 'eyeliner pens' in the lower lid. I have a fair few of these now.
*Price and where from*
I think I got mine from Boots, but I can't remember how much it cost. Currently these eyeliner pens are around £3-£4 on Amazon, but as always shop around as you will find a lot of varying prices.
You take off the cap and twist the thing up to reveal the actual eyeliner pencil, which is soft, blunt and kind of creamy in texture. Barry M intense eyeliner pens give a nice soft line with some precision (though it could be better if the tips were sharper). The eyeliner is allegedly smudgeproof and waterproof. I haven't had to experiment with the latter but I can confirm I haven't had many smudges with these eyeliners that I can remember.
*Now the best part*
The reason I bought these eyeliners (I have 3) is the colours! I love different coloured eyeliner. I have these Barry M intense eyeliners in pink, silver and blue. The silver and blue are slightly metallic and shimmery, which gives a beautiful effect that was just what I wanted.
When I'm going out somewhere special or out of an evening I really do like to use a pen style eyeliner to give me more definition. Daytimes I tend to use a kohl stick to outline them but come party time I wanna really play my eyes up!
I went to use my trusty one the other day and noticed that it had dried up slightly and was dragging on my eyes so I looked on Amazon with no particular make in mind really, I just wanted something cheap and cheerful and that's when I stumbled across this Barry M one and I ordered it and it cost me a mere £2.67! I was thrilled knowing that I usually really do like Barry M products and felt that I had snaffled myself a bit of a bargain!
This comes available in a few colour options which are silver, pink, gold, kingfisher blue, royal blue, dark emerald, aqua green and my option....... black. No matter the colour you opt for the pen is long and rather thin and in the colour you choose and we are told down the sides of it what it is and who it is by and we are given contact details for Barry M and it has a long plastic lid to one end of it covering the nib of course and its a very smart looking pen this one.
This is absolutely fabulous stuff! Its an ink like product and all you do is frame your eyes with it! As I mentioned earlier I went for the black option which goes on wet and slightly glossy and it dries in seconds to a matte black. I can direct a thin line of the product on my eyes or build the colour up, create flicks whatever I want and all with complete ease and once its on it stays put for well over 9 hours. It isn't waterproof as such though a tear it can take and it isn't smudge proof either but again can take a very gentle rub and when it comes to removing it, it simply takes your usual make up removing routine!
This has never once agitated my sensitive eyes and it really does get the thumbs up from me and I love the product from the ease of application of it to the results it gives.
Available from all good chemists such as Boots and Superdrug and costs usually just under £4.00 but do Google or try Amazon first for a better bargain!

As a frequent user (and breaker) of eye liner, the retractable pen seemed like a great idea. The idea of never having to put up with sharpening my eye liner only for it to keep breaking was an absolute dream! This certainly lived up to my expectations in usefulness and I was able to use the eye liner until it wore right down to the bottom. The waterproof feature was particularly useful.
However, I did have a few issues with this eye liner. For one, it was a little bit "too waterproof". I found it incredibly hard to take off even with make up remover, and it was a real pain if I smudged it a bit whilst applying my make up as it would mean I'd have to re-do my foundation too. But this was a bonus on my luckier days when I managed to do my make up properly the first time as it would last all day without re-applying it.
The nib also became a bit too flat after a few uses so I was only able to use it for my waterline rather than my whole eye because I couldn't achieve the detail I needed for my usual winged eye liner. But perhaps that's just because of how much eye liner I wear (probably a bit too much).
Apart from those issues, I found the pen very easy to use as it was the same size as my normal eye liner and it lasted for a long time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
I have recently been using Maybelline's eye liner matic which is a cream based eyeliner that doesn't require to be sharpened and glides on softly and easily. When I ran out of this I went back to using another eyeliner pencil I already had but I realised it took longer to apply and also had to be sharpened every other day for it to go on neatly which I found a bit of an inconvenience, especially if I didn't have a sharpener to hand. Therefore, when I was next shopping in town I decided to look for another retractable eyeliner to use. I didn't want to buy Maybelline's version as although it was easy to apply and looked nice when on, I found it smudged very very easily and so wanted to try one from another brand in hope that it didn't smudge as easily as that one. I wasn't sure if it would just be that particular eyeliner or if it was all cream based eyeliners that would do this.
After looking at a few different brands and comparing prices, I decided to try Barry M's version as it was only £3.99. I recently also bought their marker pen 'wink' eyeliner for nights out and love it so I was hoping this retractable eyeliner would also impress me.
I originally found this in Boots but the only one left was a tester. The Barry M stand is very small in Boots and I could not see this particular eye liner in any other colours. I then went to Superdrug where I know the Barry M stand is much bigger with a wider range of their products. Sure enough I found the black eyeliner there and it was sealed. They also had a few other colours available as you can see in the image above. I was only interested in the black one though as this is the colour eyeliner I wear everyday, if I want a bit of colour then I opt for a colourful eyeshadow.
When applying this it glides on very smoothly and doesn't tug your skin or require a lot of coats which I think pencil based eyeliners do. It goes on very dark after just one stroke.
I apply this on a morning before I go to work and when I come home the neat dark line is still very visible and hasn't smudges at all, unless of course you go out of your way to rub your eyes then it obviously will smudge. I am very impressed with these results as I found the Maybelline eyeliner to smudge even though I went nowhere near my eyes, and I don't know how! As it stays put all day there is no need for me to reapply during the day and so I don't need to carry this around with me.
The retractable part of it works well and this hasn't failed to let me down. If I turn it too much it can easily be turned back down so that you don't crush the actual eyeliner when you put the lid back on. I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and I still have a lot of the liner left. I have found that these cream based retractable eyeliners do not last as long as the pencil based ones, but I much prefer them for how easy they are to apply and the actual look of it when it has been applied.
I will definitely be purchasing this Barry M eyeliner again when I run out, and at only £3.99 I think it is a bargain!
Barry M has been a bit of a revelation for me. I normally pay so much money for make-up and finding that Barry M does really good make-up for a quarter that I normally pay means that I have been trying as many of their products as I can get my hands on.
The intense eyeliner pen cost me £3.99 in boots and was also on 3 for 2 along with the rest of the Barry M range.
Alongside black there are another 6 shades you can choose from which are silver, aqua green, dark emerald, kingfisher blue, royal blue and pink.
The eyeliner works differently from a pencil in that it comes in a retractable plastic pen that you twist to make it come out and back in again.
The eyeliner is really easy to use and because of how it is packaged it makes it really easy to get a really precise line without it going off course and smudging. It is quite sharp and really solid and I find that the easiest way to soften it up is to hold the pen under my hairdryer for a couple of seconds as this just softens it enough for the pen to really be able to give me a pop of colour.
I was expecting the colour to be really intense but other than the fact some of the colours are a bit different from the normal black and brown it isn't really any more intense than any other eyeliner. That's not to say it isn't good though and it does give a nice dark line of colour around my eye.
The black is good but I especially like the aqua green. I was a bit wary of using a green eyeliner but the colour really accentuates my eyes and makes them look bigger and more open and it also looks lovely next to my eye shadow.
This eyeliner may not be quite as impressive as some of the other Barry M products but it is still better than 99% of other cheaper brands that I have tried and for that reason alone I would recommend it.
My favourite eyeliner is Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, but sadly times are a bit too tough at the moment for me to justify the expense of a high end brand. That eyeliner costs around £13 so it's a luxury I can ill afford right now!
I had read good things about the Barry M Intense Eyeliner Pen, so I decided to buy this when I was in my local Boots, and see how I got on. At £3.99 it wasn't too expensive at all, and I figured that even if it wasn't great, I didn't pay too much.
The eyeliner comes in 7 different shades: Black, Aqua Green, Dark Emerald, Royal Blue, Kingfisher Blue, Pink and Silver. I have only ever worn black eyeliner so that's the shade I bought.
The eyeliner pens aren't wooden, they are plastic as inside is a retractable crayon/pen. The pen is plain, simply being the specific colour of eyeliner inside, with gold writing down the side and the Barry M logo.
To use, you twist the top of the pen in order to make the crayon longer; a bit like an automatic pencil. When you are finished applying it, twist it again to make the crayon go back in.
On my first use I had to roll the crayon between my finger and thumb for a few seconds to help soften it. When it's softer it is easier to apply.
Retractable eyeliner pens, I find, are always good for drawing a precise line on your lid. This one is no exception, however I do like a smudgy eyeliner look and this was quite difficult to smudge - which is no criticism as this isn't kohl so it's not supposed to smudge!
When the crayon is soft, it glides on easily and leaves a smooth black line that doesn't flake or smear. I applied this this morning, then went out for a walk on the beach with my dog, so I was outside in windy weather for around 2 hours. When I got home, there was still a decent amount of eyeliner on my eyes so this is pretty damn durable.
To remove this, you will need a good eye make-up remover or cleanser as it is fairly hard to shift.
I liked this eyeliner; I have a Maybelline retractable pen which is very similar, but more expensive obviously. This is better than that one, not least because it costs so little.
I do prefer the Urban Decay eyeliner but I have saved myself a tenner by buying this Barry M eyeliner, so I think I will cope.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes to wear black eyeliner.
I love this eyeliner! I can't really fault Barry M products and this is yet another good example of how great the products are despite how cheap they are. I got this eyeliner from Amazon at the beginning of the month as I had a voucher to use up and I paid £3.75 for it which considering the flawless quality is a total bargain! It can also be purchased from places such as Boots, Superdrug, eBay, the official Barry M website and various other shops. The RRP is around £3.50-£5 which is very reasonable and much cheaper than equally high quality products.
There are 8 colours available including the usual basic colours such as black, blue and grey and also some more vibrant colours including pink, green and gold. I have this eyeliner in black as I like to have my eye makeup very goth-like and intense, as I feel it makes my light blue eyes more noticeable and insense.
The packaging for this is really unusual, it is not your average eyeliner and it comes in plastic casing shaped like a pen, this is a retractable eyeliner so to use it you pull off the lid and then twist the top of the pen and the eyeliner comes out of the casing. I made the mistake of twisting mine out too far and a bit broke off but that was my own fault and i'd reccomend only exposing the very tip of the nib to avoid it breaking due to how soft and creamy the texture is.
This eyeliner is waterproof and smudge resistant, it's amazing! It also gives an amazingly bold look which looks so effortless and striking. It's buildable, so I usually wear one layer for work/uni and a few layers for nights out. I use this mainly on my waterline but it also looks good for cat-eyes due to how accuarate it is and it doesn't smudge at all, even when i'm all hot and sweaty from dancing around like a looney in a packed club. With false lashes I sometimes put this eyeliner on my upperlid near my lashline and I find that it makes the lashes merge in with my natural lashes and therefor look more natural and subtle.
Applying it is easy, although as I said before it can break off if you retract it out too far. It doesn't drag on my skin as the texture is lovely and soft - seriously it's amazingly creamy but it doesn't melt or smudge like many other soft eyeliners do. It frames my eyes and really alters my overall 'look', it can look very sophisticated and subtle with one layer which I like and very sexy and bold with a few layers. The nib is quite wide so it does provide quite a thick line but obviously the angle you use will depend on how thick it goes on.
The colour is well pigmented (it looks amazing) it's not patchy or anything and when it dries it doesn't go flaky like some of the more creamy eyeliners do which is good. It can be smudged with your fingers but unless you deliberately smudge it, it doesn't budge. The lasting power is amazing - i'd say it lasts for 10 hours easily and removing it is easy, it takes just a few makeup wipes to remove all traces of it.
Overall I wouldn't be without this, it's so handy as it doesn't need sharpening, and it looks amazing.
==Barry M Intense Eye-liner Pen==
I have had the same cheap black eye-liner now for so long and a short while ago I felt it was about time I sorted out my pander eyes and invested in a good eye-liner. I really wasn't sure which one would be best to get as there are just so many different types from so many different brands so what should one do?? I checked on dooyoo of course. It seemed that this Barry M Intense Eye-liner pen was one of the top rated items and the price was still really affordable so I placed an order and it arrived in no time.
I purchased the pen from Amazon (mainly because it is linked up to my credit card and they do this really simple one click ordering that can even be done from my iphone! Good for getting things but not so good for the credit card bill!) and the price of £3.95 pence seemed really reasonable anyway with most places selling it for around £4 or even a little more.
What you get for your money is a lidded pen type piece of make up which has limited information on the pen itself although it does state that it is "a waterproof, smudge proof, super long wear eye line in a retractable pen" so I guess there really isn't much else to say. It does state on the pen how much of the product you get but on the Amazon website it says that the total item weight is 82 grams but I would think that this is the plastic container of the pen too.
The eye liner is simple to use and the lid of the pen comes of with a slight pull and is then secured back in place with a nice click so you know it is fastened tightly. The nib of the eye liner itself is shaped to a slight point although after one or two uses this does get a flatter area but I haven't had that much trouble with the line I am making being too thick I just work lighter with the pen. Once the pen nib is wearing down, a quick turn of the bottom part of the pen will push up some more of the product held inside. There really isn't that much of the stick eye liner inside the pen and twisting right up when I first bought it probably showed only about an inch and a little bit of the product.
The Intense black colour really is that and I find that working lightly with the eye liner gives the best results. The fact that it is smudge free means that once you have pencilled on the product unless you use proper make-up remover for waterproof mascara then it really isn't going to come off. The pen itself glides onto the eye area and I found it so much easier than using a regular wood type eye liner pencil for some reason.
By the end of each day I still find that this eye liner is exactly where I had put it that morning and there is no trace of it under my eyes or even in the corners of my eyes like what happens when I wear the cheap ones. The product really does live up to all it claims and still at that reasonable price! I can't quite believe it myself but it is true!
The affect of the eye-liner was really brilliant and I really told myself of for having used a cheap crappy eye liner for so long when this product is so good yet still affordable. I found it came of really well with my waterproof make up remover but not so good with my bar of Dove soap and a flannel or a No7 facial wipe which didn't seem to remove all of the liner.
All in all I am really impressed with this eye-liner. I don't think it will last nearly as long as a wood pencil type of eye-liner but the fact that it gives a far better look is worth having to buy it more often.
I feel that this product does all it claims and is a good price and I could really ask for no more. A top score of 5 out of 5 stars and a very high recommendation!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
many thanks for taking the time to read.
I'm a huge fan of mechanical eyeliner: I find pencils smudge too easily and liquid eyeliner takes far too long to apply!
After trying a variety of cheap mechanical eyeliners (all around the £3-8 mark) I stumbled upon Barry M's Intense Eyeliner, and for about four years it was the only eyeliner I would use. Long-lasting and a lovely strong black colour, this eyeliner is quick to apply and stays put all day, no matter what the weather throws at you.
Retailing at £3.95 this is a fantastic budget option, particularly as you will often find Barry M products on '3 for the price of 2' in Boots and Superdrug. It comes in a variety of colours, and although I (being rather boring in my make-up choices) have only used the black liner, the price means you could experiment with different looks without wasting a lot of money.
Had I been reviewing this a couple of years ago I would have given this eyeliner 5 stars without a second thought; however the last two eyeliners I bought have snapped when I twisted the product out a bit too far, a problem I've never had with it in the past, nor with my MAC Technakohl liner which has replaced this eyeliner in my make-up bag.
Nonetheless, I'd still certainly recommend this liner if you're on a budget or just looking for a good quality mechanical eyeliner, which is why I'm awarding it 4 stars.
Framing your eyes can make such a huge difference to your face but with a whole variety of eyeliners on offer it can be difficult to know which to go for. When I'm not going for a dramatic look or in need of something quick, I usually opt for pencils or pens as they're easy to use and softer, perfect for daytime. The main benefit of the pen over the pencil is not having to sharpen it and my main reason for trying the Intense Eyeliner Pen by Barry M (in black) was for it being waterproof, smudge proof and super long wear.
In the past I've usually opted for pencils e.g my last was a Korres Colour Pencil which although contained oils and Vitamin E always left me really disappointed melting throughout the day so the colour ended up 1-2cm below my eyes. I wasn't too sure about Barry M as I always imagined them to be a fairly cheap brand, this eyeliner only £3.95 compared to the £8 Korres but I was surprised.
The pen comes sealed and is thinner than a liner pencil with a very secure lid requiring a little force to click in back into place. The retractable liner is roughly 4cm long so it is likely to need replacing more often than a pencil. The pen, around 13cm in length, is very easy to use though. It's comfortable to hold with the users preference of how long they want the liner to be out (I usually opt for a few mm) which gives great precision for lining the waterline as well as the upper and lower lids. Even with pressure the liner won't retract into the pen unless being twisted. The liner isn't too sharp on first use the way a pencil would be and doesn't drag on the eye offering a good solid black colour. After the initial use the tapered end does become blunt yet will still work well even for softer winged lining.
When it comes to being smudge proof, I have to agree. There have been a few times lining my upper lid where I've hit the middle of my lid and it will come off by rubbing but it is quite stubborn. When it says it is waterproof and super long wear, I also agree. Applying to the waterline it will last even if my eyes water and I've been able to wear it for upwards of 4 hours before considering touching it up to ensure an intense colour. Colour wise, I always opt for black but there are 8 colours available in this range. The black is well pigmented but can also offer a softer black by applying it gently which I usually prefer when lining my lower lid.
When it comes to removing my eye make up, I do have a good make up remover so I'm not over rubbing my eyes. You will need something more than water for this liner but it's not impossible to remove.
While this isn't my favourite eyeliner, it is a good option and perfect for teens at an affordable price. It does work well but I was mainly disappointed by there only being 4cm worth of liner (I can't find the g listed) and how quickly it blunted so it may not be as cost effective as it first seemed compared to a pencil. The design of the pen makes it ideal for keeping in your bag if you're on the go as it doesn't need sharpening with good staying power, precision use and ease of use.
It's available to buy on the Barry M site £3.99 (excluding postage) as well as Amazon £3.95 free delivery so it's worth looking around.
I am going to sound really boring now as I am just writing about the black eye liner in this range rather than any of the colours.
Now, most people who use black eye liner would be happy with one that glides on easily and can be applied with precision exactly how thin or thick you want it AND stays put for a whole day or night out without smudging or running. With this eyeliner you get exactly all of that. With the slim pen style liner, it is really easy to apply a thin line or if you want a more dramatic look it is easy to draw a thicker line. The colour is really dark (unlike some eyeliners which need going over to make them look dark enough) and thick and doesn't budge once you have applied it. I have often had the problem of eyeliners which look great at the start of the day/night but then after a couple of hours have faded or smudged. There is no such problem to be had with this one, it really sticks.
The only thing I could fault it on is that it is quite difficult to remove. When you have used eye remover and washed your face and the rest of it, this liner still quite often can stick around a little bit.
I was looking for a new eyeliner recently and headed straight to the Barry M section of Boots, without even looking I picked this up without realising what it actually was. ARGH!
I think I paid around £3.95 for this eyeliner, which I am happy with. I usually pay around £6 for eyeliners so this was a little bit of a bargain for me.
The eyeliner comes in a black, pen shaped casing, with a plain black lid. It has extremely basic 'Barry M, Intense Black Eyeliner' written across the casing in gold.
The lid is a basic pull off and click back on lid. Once this is off, you simply twist the top of the 'pen', in an anticlockwise direction, to reveal the eyeliner. When I first did this, I was very shocked to find that the pen looked like a crayon, not a normal pencil eyeliner! But I gave it a go anyway.
So I pulled the skin under my eye slightly and began to draw just above my eyelashes, I also do under my eyelid so I did that before looking in the mirror. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. My eyes looked perfectly outlined in very fine, dark black. It looked amazing!
I twisted the top back round and clicked the cap back on.
I usually avoid eyeliners like this and stick the the basic pencil eyeliners. However, the only pencil eyeliner I have ever gotten on with was Barry M's eyeliner. Even with this, I didn't see the eyeliner staying dark all day.
With the Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner, I apply it before I leave for work at 6.30am and when I return home, at 6.30pm, my eyes still look just as dark and defined as they did when I left!
Also, it seems to last a while, my last eyeliner lasted just over 2 months and I only purchased a new one last week. I'm hoping this one lasts just as long.
Barry M have yet to disappoint me with their products!
Whilst on the look out for a bright eyeliner to make a change from the zillion black ones I own, I came across the Barry M Eyeliner Pen range. There are 8 colours to choose from, and as I have blue eyes I chose shade 5 in Kingfisher Blue. The pen claims to be a "waterproof, super long wear eyeliner in a retractable pen".
I was initially very impressed with how slimline this pen is, as it means it is great for putting in your bag as its literally the size of a real pen. The pen has a lid which protects the colour applicator, and is easy to remove yet also doesn't fall off. I was also pleased it had a lid, because eye pens which do not have a lid not only create a squiggly mess in my bag, but can also pick up bacteria and all sorts of horrors you wouldn't want anywhere near your eyes!
When it comes to applying the pen under my eyes, I was a little disappointed that it felt a little rough doing so, particularly as the skin around the eyes is so sensitive. I found myself really having to go over it to get a noticeable impact which in turn was a bit rough on my under eyes. Having said that, as I was testing it without foundation this may have been why it was showing some resistance as I was not working with a base.
The applicator is about 2-3mm in diameter, and when it becomes blunt you simply twist the pen to get more out of it. I would say for the amount you get, it certainly would last many months even with regular use. However there isn't really any way of sharpening this as it's far too small for a regular sharpener so you may consider using a brush to apply it for more precise requirements.
The colour itself is pigment-rich therefore is very vibrant, and certainly lives up to the claims that it is waterproof! After again testing the pencil on my hand, it isn't coming off with water alone which means it is more likely to stay in place after applying it. There is nothing worse than smudged eyeliner!
At £3.95 is this pen value for money? On the whole I would say so, however it really depends how much use you plan on getting out of it. I think the more neutral, everyday shades such as Black would certainly give you value for money. As I bought this in Kingfisher, it is not suitable for everyday use unless I was to use a small amount of it. It is also questionable whether you could achieve the same results by applying an eyeshadow colour under the eye with a brush, however this isn't as convenient, especially if you are on the go.
I am certainly glad I tried this product, as Barry M never fails to deliver quality, fun and above all colourful cosmetics. If I did purchase this pen again though, I would probably buy it in a more everyday shade to get the most use out of it. Nevertheless, it certainly is a great asset to any make-up bag, and what with its super lightweight packaging and gold font, it certainly looks the part too. Perhaps not my favourite ever eyeliner, but certainly not the worst either.
Barry M Intense Black eye liner pen
I was in need of a new eye liner and since I am the type of person who forgets to sharpen pencils and leaves the tops off, I thought this could be a good idea.
The product is marketed as an intense black eye liner pen which is waterproof and smudge proof and super long wearing.
It does look like the usual eye liners I tend to buy- black, pencil shaped (although slightly thinner) and with a pull off/push back on lid. The difference though is when I pull off the lid because instead of needing to be sharpened, the pencil is a retractable one. So, I twist the bottom of the pencil and out comes the eye liner- very black and with a nice rounded end for pain free non scratch application. To retract the eye liner simply twist the pen in the opposite directions and it retreats into the casing- or so the theory goes. This did happen consistently and smoothly when the pencil was brand new but after several uses I found that a twist or two got the eye liner out but retracting it was a different story. Perhaps it got a bit raggetty and rough around the edges with use, but whatever, it didn't retract. However, a gentle push got it nicely on its way with no harm done and the only evidence a small black dot on my right index finger.
When I apply the eye liner, I find it best to have only a short amount of the eye pencil out of the casing in case it snaps. It does glide on easily and needs very little pressure for me to definitely see the colour. The lines are not harsh and it also does not smudge unless this is done on purpose for the general effect.
The eye liner is made by barry m, www.barrym.com and is available at chemists and online sites. It seems to sell at around the £ 4 mark, which for the length of time it lasts, is good value for money.
I have the intense black but the eye liner is also available in: Aqua Green; Dark Emerald; Gold; Kingfisher Blue; Pink: Silver. If the colours are as intense and true as the black then they will be very definite colours.
The eye liner is easy to apply- just the same as my other eye liner pencils and the "end result" tends to be similar. The main advantage is that I now don't run the risk of it snapping and going blunt when I forget to put the lid back on or if the lid accidentally falls off. The few times I have put it into my make up bag without the lid, I found that the eye liner did survive as long as I had remembered to retract the pencil beforehand.
The eye liner is indeed waterproof and does tend to "stay put" but with my usual eye make up remover it can be removed without scrubbing.
For anyone who likes their make up to be perfect then it will have to be reapplied but for me it lasts for a night out (I don't wear eye liner during the day).
If you want a reasonably priced easy to apply eye liner then I would recommend this one.

INTENSE BLACK EYELINER PEN by Barry M Cosetics
I love eyeliner and feel I look half asleep without it now after wearing it for about 10 years. I've always stuck to black and usually bought the kohl pencil type. I had previously been using Boots No 7 amazing eyes pencil although I didn't find it amazing so I decided to try the Barry M Pen version as I love their eyeshadow pigments. I'm really excited to review my favourite eyeliner of all time!! so here goes....
About the product
Made by Barry M Cosetics. Their website is www.barrym.com if you want to check out their products. It is called 'Intense black eyeliner pen'. The description reads 'a waterproof, smudgeproo, super long wear eyeliner'.
Pen / Packaging
The pen comes with a clear plastic sealant which is great as you wouldn't really beable to tell if someone had used it otherwise. The pen I have is black as the colour is black, their are 8 colours in total, other colours are coloured accordingly. This is great as I'm thinking of getting the green so I will easily beable to locate which is which by the coloured shell. The pens case is a hard durable plastic. It measures approx 14cm in length so ideal for handbag or make up bag.
I bought the black as this is my every day colour. The lid is a pull off and can be a little stiff to open! You then turn the bottom pen case which twists the eyeliner pen up. The eyeliner nib is approx 2mm thick and is always rounded. With a pencil you can sharpen to achieve more of a point but I don't think it makes a difference to application to be honest.
I have always used eyeliner on my top inner eye lid and bottom to give a bolder effect but it is not really needed with this pen as the colour is soooo intense. It is very easy to apply along your waterline. The intense colour immediate sticks well. I used to have to run over my waterline about 6 times and it didn't look black black.
The finish that this achieves is incredible. The colour is rich and intense and really makes your eyes pop! I apply this at 7am and it still looks good when I arrive home at 7pm so you get at least 12 hours lasting wear with this product.
If you use on your eyes above lids or below waterline you should be prepared for a little smudging after time as it is really designed for the waterline. For other use try the liquid eyeliner by Barry M.
Price and Availability
I bought this product from ebay as I couldn't fidn it in store although I have recently seen it in Boots and Superdrug stores. It used to retail for £3.99 but has gone up to £4.99. I think £4.99 is a great price as I've paid more for a much poorer quality! The best £5 buy for your make up bag this summer!
This product is INTENSELY COLOURFUL with long lasting effect! Easy to apply, achieves fantastic colour with one sweep on your waterline!
