When wearing eyeliner I prefer just a thin black line underneath my eye to add definition rather than a more dramatic look so I always opt for a black kohl pencil as I believe this style of eyeliner suits my needs best. The trouble is, I can never find that perfect one I can just stick to! I always seem to find faults with each product (usually about its staying power) and so am constantly buying and trying new and different pencils.

My most recent purchase in this department was this Barry M Kohl Pencil. I brought this from my local Boots store costing £2.99. Barry M products are also sold at Superdrug. As the picture supplied by dooyoo shows, these pencils come in a lot of different colours. These include black, white, grey, pink, green, blue and orange! So if you are looking for a more colourful look then these pencils may be of use to you also.

Appearance wise, the pencil just looks like your typical kohl pencil. The main body colour is the colour of the eyeliner, I went for black thus the colour of my pencil is black also. It also has a clear plastic lid which will stop your eyeliner from breaking and smudging in your make-up bag. It's about the same length as a typical biro pen and is thin enough to fit inside most standard eyeliner pencil sharpeners.

When applying the eyeliner I find I have to apply a couple of coats to get the dark colour I am after however the eyeliner does feel really soft and doesn't irritate my waterline so I don't mind doing this.
Once applied the eyeliner does look good and gives me that definition I want without looking too over done.

My main trouble with eyeliner is that it doesn't stay put for very long. Normally I'll catch sight of myself in a mirror a few hours after application to my thin line of eyeliner just below my eyeball is now a 3inch thick line of eyeliner which is very nearly touching my cheeks! Not a good look I think you'll agree.
Thankfully, I don't have this problem with this eyeliner. It pretty much stays put until I remove it. It doesn't smudge down my face or fade. It certainly has staying power!

I've had no problems removing the eyeliner with my usual eye make-up remover and, best of all, this product is vegan friendly! No animals were harmed in the making off my defined eyes.

All in all I would recommend this product, it's definitely one of the better kohl pencils I have tried (and I've tried a lot)! It's cheap, lasts quite a while, is applied and removed easily and has staying power.
