Packaging and Availability
I have never really used Barry M products as I always thought it was an expensive brand. I am still not sure how expensive it is as a whole as I haven't looked into it and this is the only Barry M product I own (and I bought it in Blue Banana not from a stand). It costs £4.49 as standard and can be picked up on eBay for as little as £1.98 for some colours but the Cherry Glitter which I have is £2.90.
The Packaging is pretty simple a clear tube with a black plastic lid. In black writing on the side it says Barry M Lip Gloss.
The address and 2.5ml is on the other side. There is no other writing on the tube at all, it doesn't even say what colour the lip gloss is which I think is really silly I had to look up online to see what colour mine was, not very good if you want to go and look for it again.
This is really east to use and goes on well, it is a nice Cherry red colour and has a gorgeous fruity Cherry smell, it might even be the best smelling lip gloss I have tried. What I like most about this lip gloss is how glittery it is, most glittery lip glosses look great in the tube then you put them on and you can hardly see the glitter, whereas this is really obviously glittery and gives a really good party look (definitely not one for the office).
The major downside of this is that it doesn't stay on for any time at all, i ahve read other reviews that say that it is long lasting but I can't see how they are getting it to stay. I have tried it on it's own, on top of lipstick and it rubs off straight away. If I have a drink it is gone and if don't I can maybe make it last an hour or so. I guess if it's a night out and you don't mind re-applying it then it's not a big deal, at least you will look great in the start of the night photos.
Great colour, great smell and really strong glittery look but a bit on the pricey side for a basic gloss and not long lasting at all so all I can give it is 3 stars.

The product I am reviewing is a Lip Gloss Wand by Barry M. Although I am a huge fan of Barry M Nail Paint, I haven't really used their other products before such as make-up and other products. I recently purchased some lipstick from another range and I wanted a decent clear, lip-gloss to go over the top to make it look slightly glossier. The previous lip gloss I purchased was quite cheap, so I was looking to spend a bit more money on a better/more well-known brand. I browsed quite a few make-up brands before deciding to purchase this particular lip gloss. The price of this lip gloss seemed very reasonable and I also noticed that quite a few other brands don't actually have a clear lip-gloss in their range. This range of lip glosses provides shimmering, sparkling and solid colours that will suit everyone. The formula provides long-lasting wear without feeling sticky and they are all infused with an irresistible scent. The soft wand applicator ensures that the gloss glides on easily to the shape of your lips. The lip gloss comes in a clear tube so you can clearly see what colour the lip-gloss is. It also has the shade/colour on the side of the lip-gloss on a label as well which will be removed when you take the plastic packaging off. Barry M is printed on the side of the tube so you can clearly see who makes this lip-gloss. The top of the tube which holds the applicator wand is black and this unscrews easily to enable you to apply the product to your lips.

I purchased this from my local Boots store for £4.99. You can also purchase this from Superdrug and from the Barry M website. Prices are around the same where-ever you purchase the lip gloss from; how-ever different shops may have different offers on. The lip gloss comes in a total of 10 different colours including:
* Strawberry Milkshake
* Bronze Shimmer
* Cherry Glitter
* Strawberry Glitter
* Bubblegum Pink
* Pastel Pink
* Strawberries & Cream
* Coconut Clear

Although some of the other colours in this range looked quite nice I just purchased the Coconut Clear lip-gloss, as this is what I originally wanted to purchase to go over lipstick. I found the lip-gloss really easy to apply using the wand. The soft wand glided across my lips easily without dragging and coated them in a good amount of the clear gloss. The lip gloss wasn't gloopy when applying it and it didn't look sticky either. There was a nice, light coconut smell to the lip gloss. My sister hates coconut, but she didn't really notice the scent of the lip gloss. The gloss looked really shiny and didn't feel heavy on my lips. Although I had applied some lipstick before applying the gloss only a little of the colour came off onto the wand of the lip gloss. The lip gloss helped to make the lipstick stand out more and made it look shinier. I liked that the lip gloss didn't feel sticky on my lips unlike other lip glosses which I have purchased in the past. I did have to re-apply the lip gloss a few times during the night after having a few drinks, etc. which I expected I would have to go anyway. The lip gloss doesn't taste of anything. I have also used the lip-gloss on its own without any lipstick and I find that it looks really nice and it looks natural and adds a really nice shiny and glossy look to your lips. The lip gloss doesn't dry my lips out and doesn't make them sore either. If I do have some lip gloss left on at the end of the night, I removed this using a baby wipe or a tissue.

Although the Barry M Nail Paints are really good, I wasn't really sure what to expect from this product as I have never tried any of the make-up from this range before. I was hoping that this product was going to be good; otherwise I would have to try and find another clear lip-gloss by a different brand. In terms of applying the gloss it was really easy to apply and it was nice to see that the gloss wasn't gloopy or sticky. Due to the soft applicator wand, the gloss glided onto my lips easily. I loved the look that the gloss gave to my lips as it made them shiny and also look healthy. The gloss is perfect for a lovely, natural look. As well as wearing the gloss on its own it also works really well over lipstick without taking too much of the colour off. In terms of longevity the product lasted as long as I expected and I did expect to have to re-apply it again during the evening. In terms of value I think the lip gloss is very reasonable as its good quality and works really well. I haven't yet tried any of the other shades in this range but I am tempted by some of the lighter colours such as 'Strawberries & Cream'. I would definitely recommend this lip-gloss to others and I will be purchasing it again once I have run out.
(review also on ciao)
Generally I love all Barry M products such as the nail effect pots but in particular my absolute favourite has to be their eye shadow pots. The brand is well known for their eye catching effects in make up and nails but they also do more neutaral products which suit even the fussiest of people. When in Superdrug yesterday there was a 3 for 2 offer on which included Barry M - so after picking up my badly needed foundation and eye liner, I decided on a new lip gloss which I havent bought for a while after spending months living in lip stick. Unlike lip stick where I like to wear the brightest pinks and reds I can find mainly in the matte look, I do prefer my lip glosses to be more neutural due to the shininess of them. Upon looking at the Barry M lipglosses I found most of them to be too dark and colourful for my liking but I spotted shade "3" and decided this one would suit me better. Technically with the other two products costing more, I got this lipgloss for free!
The Barry M lipglosses all look the same and like basic lipglosses that you see in most ranges - your tube is made out of a very hard plastic and comes with a black twist top lid with a wand attached under to apply the gloss on to your lips as desired. Down the front of the tube in a sideways font you are told this is a Barry M lipgloss and on the back you are given further product information such as the address for Barry M (in case of any issues with the product?) and that the contents are 2.5ml and there is a total shelf life of 12 months. The tube is transparent which gives you a better idea of the colour inside which is pretty much the same as when its applied, and you have a sticker on the bottom of the tube giving you the shade number.
Unlike some other glosses which are not very well made the lid twists quite securely on to the tube as long as its used right so you wouldnt have any worries about spillages in your handbag. The total size is also quite compact and would fit happily into any normal make up bags.
Upon twisting the lid and pulling out the wand, the wand itself is a white stick and has a small slanted sponge on the end to apply the product on to your lips. The sponge absorbs the gloss easily dispensing a good
amount as you desire.
On application like all other lipglosses this is quite sticky against your lips which cant be really avoided due to this being a lip gloss and this is what lip gloss does! This particular shade comes out a slightly different colour to whats on the bottle as a slightly beige colour with a pink sparkly tint to it, but in my opinion the colour would suit most peoples tastes and personally I will be using this as a lip gloss for work so the colour isnt too daring or outrageuous!
Since buying yesterday I have been wearing it constantly since last night, in all opinion it has good putting power but due to overplucking and rubbing lips together you can expect to have to re-apply every 2-3 hours I would think.
On to the actual smell - if you are a regular user of lip gloss unless you buy horrible cheap brandless ones you will agree most of them have a pleasant smell to them - this Barry M one smells slightly fruity and a bit alchoholic to me (which isnt too bad if you take this on a night out with you!) - the scent really isnt bad on this one.
In all its a nice lip gloss however I prefer beige coloured ones that leave a bit more of a colour tint on your lips than just a slight colour with a bit of sparkle but I do think I will continue to use this until its gone as its a great one for day time and keeps my lips moisturised whilst working under constant air conditioning!
In total there is around 9 shades sold in Superdrug in the Barry M wand version - at the moment they are all included in the 2 for 3 offer - shade 3 which I have reviewed today is called "Strawberries & Cream" which is priced at £2.99 and the others at £4.49.
I am a huge fan of Barry M and especially their nail varnishes. I like the fact that they are reasonably priced and just a little bit funkier than the normal ones available in places such as Boot's. My all time favourite make-up product is lip gloss and it is something which I couldn't live without and wear every day.
I have so many different lip glosses but they really do vary on quality. The Barry M lip gloss wand is a good lip gloss but I personally don't think it is quite as good as their nail varnishes and it wouldn't be one that I would choose to wear all the time though I do buy it occasionally when Barry M is on offer.
The wands are available in quite a few different colours but they are all quite subtle and just give a little bit of colour to my lips which is actually what I want in a lip gloss as when I want a bright colour I usually wear a lip stick with a gloss over it.
I do particularly like the pink ones though as these seem to really suit my lips and just bring out the natural colour that I already have.
The strawberry milkshake one is probably my favourite as it not only looks nice but also smells amazing too.
The glosses come with a wand applicator which is easy to use and it does mean that I can get the gloss on accurately but I do slightly prefer just having a tube to squeeze out instead.
The gloss is supposed to be non sticky but this isn't that true as although it isn't as sticky as some it is still a little bit sticky and feels a little glue like on my lips. It isn't unpleasant to wear but I definitely notice it on my lips.
The glossiness of the wands are really good and they make my lips look glossy and shiny but again they aren't quite as glossy and shiny as some others are. I would wear this out during the day but I probably wouldn't wear it for a special occasion.
They are pretty reasonably priced especially when you compare them to my favourite glosses which are by Lancolme. These cost around about £4.50 which I think is fairly reasonable for these particular glosses.
I think I fell for the packaging (again!) when I bought this Barry M Lip Gloss Wand from Superdrug in the January sales. It came in a handbag shaped box with a bottle of impulse with it. The lipgloss is stated as 2.5ml on the box but 3ml on the actual tube so I think the latter is correct as the previous review, a year earlier to this one states that their lip gloss (from the same set it seems) was 3ml.
I don't use body spray much so it was mainly the lip gloss that appealed to me with this purchase. The whole set was £2.99 which I thought was a bit of a bargain for two products. The lip gloss is a pretty sparkly light-ish pink which is just the sort of colour that suits me rather than reds or corals in a lip gloss.
Once it was liberated from its cardboard handbag holder, the lip gloss had a giant white bar code sticker on it and this peeled of badly leaving me with white label residue over the body of the lip gloss. Not impressed with this and much scraping later I got most of it off. I am now able to see that the lip gloss is 'limited edition' which is a bit annoying if you really like it trying to find another one when this one is finished. There is no name or number associated with the shade of this gloss so it really is a one off!
The applicator inside the lip gloss is a slanted sponge which makes it easy to apply and the gloss smells quite sickly sweet and of strawberries. It feels soft and makes my lips feel really smooth and there is no discernible taste to the gloss. It gives a sheer shine to the lips with just a hint of glitter showing so it's not an overload on the lips.
The normal retail price for Barry M Lip Gloss Wand in Boots is £4.49 so I am pleased with my gift set price.
This lip gloss is lovely and definitely one that I will use a lot in the coming months. I am not overly keen on the scent of it but I like the way it looks and it stays on the lips for quite a while after application (depending on eating and drinking, as this shortens its life). My lips feel moisturised with this product and soft which is great during the winter months. I can happily recommend the Barry M Lip Gloss Wand and it is available in ten shades (including clear) on the Barry M website.
I received this lip gloss free with an Impulse body spray in Boots. I paid £1.99 for both the gloss and the spray, which I thought was excellent value.
My lip gloss is a soft pink colour with a gorgeous sweet scent to it. It's 3ml in size and said to be a "Limited Edition" Barry M product.
The lip gloss comes with a wand which is attached to the lid. The wand itself is lovely and soft and it feels nice when brushed against the lips. The lip gloss is pleasant to use. The soft pink colour looks nice with my blue eyes and the colour lasts for a decent length of time before needing to be topped up. The lip gloss isn't sticky or greasy. It actually feels nice on the lips and I would say that it is rather moisturising aswell. You want to keep licking your lips to taste the gloss as it really does smell that good!!!!
The lip gloss doesn't flake or come off your lips. It looks lovely and it gives a lovely shine to your lips without looking "too much", the effect is nice and subtle. You can buy the gloss in various different shades so there's one for everyone. They're lovely glosses and they're excellent quality too. I'm not sure how much they retail for instore as mine was a freebie.
You can buy them from Boots or online via the Barry M website.
Lovely lip glosses.
I have tried most of the Barry M range and am a big fan. Their products come in a variety of colours and shades and this really suits someone who is constantly changing their "look." These lip gloss wands are amazing, they come in so many colours so you can stand out or go subtle. The price of these lip gloss' are around £5 and rather cheap for a lipgloss of this standard. Due to its low price, I stocked up on quite a few and grew my Barry M collection.
I found that the lip gloss applied really well and you could vary the amount that you put on your lips easily with the wand. This was incredibley useful if you don't want to go full on glossy. The lip gloss container is quite small however it hold quite a lot of gloss to last up to 2 months if you are using it on a daily basis. The lip gloss resembles a wand and it's streamline appearance is very useful when slipping it into a bag or clutch when on a night out.
The lip gloss did not only look good but it smelt amazing. It's smell is very feminine and fruity : almost good enough to eat! I found that the lip gloss left my lips soft and not dry like other lip gloss' do.
Overall, this was a great all-day lip gloss that creates the perfect pout and a dazzling smile.
By the way, I bought this lip gloss on an offer with an impulse spray. I found that you could buy the lipgloss and spray in superdrug for just £3!!! Bargain! Or you could buy it in Boots where there was a similar offer. However I am not too sure if the offers are still standing!
Cheap and cheerful!
I have been a fan of Barry M products for a few years now, mainly due to there variety in colours, wide range and it being fairly cheap. I have had a few of there 'tube' like lipglosses before, but never one of their 'wands', so when I saw an offer on impulse (where you buy 1 can off impulse for £1.17 and get a Barry M lipgloss wand for free) I jumped at the chance!
I purchased mine in Boots where I *think* this offer may still be avaliable, however, the lipgloss wands can also be purchased in the likes of Superdrug and the Barry M online store. I think it most places it costs around £3/£4, so is definitley worth picking up the offer like I did!
The lipgloss that I chose was a very pale / nude pink colour. The lipgloss came in a clear tube so you could see the colour of the lipgloss, completed with a black lid. The lip gloss has the normal ip gloss 'wand' applicator which is similar to a piece of sponge and is slightly slanted so easier to apply.
The lipgloss itself is a very smooth, ever so slightly 'sticky' consistency, but not greasy. This makes it really easy and smooth to apply onto the lips. The lipgloss itself feels very light and not much different to a lip balm once applied. The colour that I had chosen was a really pretty colour, it was a very natural nude, but with an ever so slight pink tone to it. Due to it being this colour it was very versatile as it could be worn in the day time or evening.
The lipglosses are not overly shiny either, which I like, as it makes them look more subtle, yet at the same time they are able to add some colour to your lips. I found that the liogloss would last an hour or so before my lips started to feel dry and like the lipgloss needed to be reapplied.
Sometimes after I've worn lipglosses for a week or so my lips can sometimes feel a little dry as it they need moisture, however, with this lipgloss it was not the case and although I would not say it was nourishing or moisturising in anyway, neither was it dry.
Overall, I really like this lipgloss and would reccomend it, especially if you can get it on an offer like I did! They do a lovely range of colours that will suit all skin tones, though my personal favourite has to be the nude one!
I had never used any Barry M make up products before but when I recently bought some Impulse Body Spray in Boots it came with a free Barry M Lip gloss so who could say no to that. I think I had the choice of two shades and ended up going for a somewhat lightest pink colour, not too pink as pink lipstick or gloss of any kind really makes my teeth look bad. By looking on their website the colour to me looks like strawberry milkshake but here is the one reason why I am annoyed with the packaging as no where on the lip gloss does it tell me what colour it is. I really like this lip gloss and would like to get some more once i have finished it but I can't figure out where it tells me what it is. If any one can enlighten me that would be great but for no I just have to stick with colour matching it to the sample on the website. It has limited edition written on it so maybe it's just a special one they were giving out as a sample to entice you to buy more, well anyway the marketing ploy has worked for me as I am now a convert to these lip glosses.
What I really like about the gloss is that it's nice and light and goes on really smoothly. It almost has a liquid consistency but it is not runny in any way. I also like the fact that it is not sticky or gloomy as some other lip glosses are. It doesn't stay on as long as the gloomy ones though and I do find that I have to reapply quite a few times but when it is first on it looks great. The colour comes out nice and shiny or your lips and gives your face a bit of a lift. I really like this strawberry milkshake colour as it is quite light but not too pink and gives a nice glimmer to my lips.
What I also like about this lip gloss is that it has an amazing scent to it. Apparently according to the Barry M website each of their 14 shimmering and sparkling shades of gloss are deliciously infused with an irresistible scent. This one I have has a lovely cocoa butter smell and it's true, it's absolutely delicious. It make you want to apply it to your lips just so you can get the smell and taste of the lovely gloss!
The wand is well packaged and I like the design. It's a clear wand so you can see the colour inside and has the words BarryM written across it. The screw off cap which holds the lip gloss applicator is black. If you were to buy these in the shops or from the internet site they would cost you £4.49 which I think is a really good price for a well made lip gloss.
I have used a number of Barry M products over the last few years and I have been impressed by these products as they are generally inexpensive and yet really good quality. So when I saw Barry M Lip Gloss Wand I really wanted to try it - especially as one "wand" was just £4.49 from Boots - which I thought was a very good price and one that I was very willing to pay.
The lip gloss comes in a plastic tube with a screw top which has a wand attached to the underside of the lid. There are 7.5ml per tube, which isn't loads of lip gloss, but it is nice to have it in a small container which means I can just keep it in my handbag. I would have liked to have a little more lip gloss for the money as there are other lip gloss products which give you more for less. In addition to this, I found there was quite a lot left in the tube at the end of it's use when I couldn't get any more out, but it was coated around the outside and so there was some waste.
There are a number of shades to choose from and I opted for Strawberry Milkshake which was a very light nude colour lip gloss that was only very slightly tinted - which is lip colour. The lip gloss is quite translucent and as I chose a nude neutral colour, it didn't add much to my lips in terms of colour, but it did add a lovely translucent sheen to my lips. When I put it on, there is a very sweet almost candy floss smell which is very nice actually. The lipgloss does feel nice on my lips and it adds a layer of moisturiser and the effects lasts long after the lip gloss has been removed. I found that the lip gloss did need to be reapplied after about 3 hours if I wanted to maintain the sheen - and this seems absolutely fine in terms of last-ability. It can be removed just with soap and water and doesn't need any make-up remover to remove it adequately from my lips.
Overall, I recommend this product because it is high quality and it gives my nice a nice sheen as well as moisturising them at the same time. However, I do wish that you either got a little more in the bottle or that the price was slightly reduced. I am a Barry M fan though.
I tend to wear more lip gloss than the lipsticks which I save for occassions like going out or functions and do like to protect my lips in the windy weather by wearing lip gloss. I find that my lips are sensative to the cold weather and dry or flake in the wind and frost, sometimes I use vasaline if i run out of lip gloss but mostly i buy Barry M Lip Gloss Wand as they are cheap to buy at £4.49 and you can get them at lots of places. Superdrug, Boots and online at lots of sites if you google them.
The colours are from pink to reds and although they aren't dark shades they are very noticable and they do cover well without being too sticky. The thing I like the most about this product is the range of choice as you can get bubble gum pink that really smells like Bubble gum. Another favorite of mine is the Cherry glitter which is a deep red colour that smells of cherries.
These are very fashionable and affordable lip glosses and come in a tube with a applicator wand inside, as you pull up the wand the applicator gets the lip gloss on it and you can them smooth the tip over the lips to get a nice shine without having to put it on thickly and it doesn't sink in to the lips straight away, but lasts to give a nice sheen tot he lips and helps to protect it during the windy weather.
I like the lips gloss as you can also get a neutral one which smells of coconut this is great for it you don't fancy wearing a colour that day, they can be used everyday just for the lip protection or out on an occassion or dinner out.
I'm happy to recommend them to you.
Ive tried hundreds of lipglosses and the barry m lipgloss wands are definitely my all time favourite. these gorgeous little lipglosses come in every colour a girl could ever need and they look great on their own for a natural day time look or you can pop them on top of a lipstick and they add a gorgeous sheen. they also all have their own scent which is in relation to the shade, for example the brownish nude shade has a toffee scent, the coral one has a tropical scent and the baby pink one has a strawberry milkshake scent! they are perfect for women of every age and the best thing about them is they are not sticky, which it the worst possible quality in a lip product in my opinion. if you are interested in buying this lovely lipgloss from barry m i highly recommend them, you wont be disappointed!
The other day, I was in Superdrug and I saw this lipgloss on offer with Impulse body spray for £3. And, being as much of a BarryM fan as me I had to buy it. I was shocked that it only cost three quid but I wasn't going to complain. My first impression of this was how pretty the colour was. I got a very light/clear pink colour which is perfect for my skin/lips. It is a very simple, yet pretty design. With just the BarryM logo and some small copy about the product the tube is quite stereotypical of a lip gloss. The gloss is held in a clear plastic container with a simple black lid which you lift up with the application wand on. On the top of the container, in clear writing is the words 'Limited Edition'. I would urge anyone wanting to buy this product, to do it soon as you never know when this amazing offer will end.
The product doesn't have masses of gloss in it, but no more, no less than expected. BarryM is quite a well known cosmetic manufacturer, providing us with the wonder that is dazzle dust (which I happen to own over 15 different shades of!) Inside the wand, you get 3ml of gloss which isn't bad for the price you're paying, keeping in mind that you got an Impulse body spray in the pack too. On the back of the pack, there is an address and website for the Barry M company and other small print about the product and it's makers.
The product itself is sensational, expecting no less from Barry M. The lipgloss I have, as explained above, is pink, but is also available in a wide range of other colours and I'm sure is sold separately, unless under a different name and price. When I first opened the product, what hit me was the smell. So sweet. It smells almost like the strawberry version of Tutti Frutti, Frutina sweets. It has a very sweet, girls smell which only made me more fond of it. When applying, I found that it wasn't too sticky like most other glosses and didn't stick your lips together. It always puts me in a good mood when I wear it as the smell is so overpowering.
The easy shaped wand makes application thorough and simple. When applying, slide across the lips until satisfied then rub lips together for an even finish. I find, that when you are wearing dark eye colours this gloss stands out more. It leaves your lips shiny and bright. The colour isn't too vivid and looks as natural as your going to get with gloss. If you want a more natural look, I'd advise lip balms or beige lipsticks. The only thing that makes me feel sad about this product is the availability, it's not going to be around forever, so my advice, STOCK UP!
You can't buy this separately, but I would advise you buy it, £3 isn't bad for a lip gloss from BarryM, and you get a free Impulse body spray with it. I got the Very Pink body spray which I lovely. That may be under another review if I can find the time.
The coverage is excellent and lasts around 5-6 hours and even after that you will still have smooth lips. If you look closely at the gloss, you will notice that it has an almost glittery shimmer that looks just dazzling. You can smell it when you wear it and I don't know how I can recommend it more. This is one of my essential handbag must-haves and I feel that all women should have it on them at all times. This gloss keeps your lips soft and your purse full! You can't complain with a Barry M product, once again. The dazzling smell and the pretty pink look with keep you smiling all day long. An overall five stars from me, I seriously couldn't find any faults with this product, sorry! I hope this review has been useful to all of you who read it! Thanks :)
Lip glosses and lip sticks are things that most of us girls own plenty of, if not too many. I seem to have developed a collection over a number of years, all of which are different and half of them I don't even use! In saying that, I couldn't help but pick one of these up when I noticed them, they just looked like they needed some attention...
--- Barry M ---
Barry M is a cosmetic brand that is widely available on the high street and will often be found amongst its rivalry competition such as Rimmel and Maxfactor. They are one of the newer and more contemporary brands on the market who have been renowned for their bright and bold colours in recent years. I have seen some relatively innovative products from them such as their shatter nail varnish similar to O.P.I, although at a much more affordable price. Many people will recognise them for their dazzle dust eyeshadows which were strongly advertised and popular upon their release. Apart from that they have released a number of general day to day wear prodicts such as mascaras and foundations, all of which I have found to be of a high standard and very easy to use.
--- Lip Gloss Wand ---
The Lip Gloss Wand is similar to many other lip glosses on the market in terms of its concept. Barry M claims that their lip gloss range offers 'shimmering and sparkling shades'. An interesting twist on an original product is that each lip gloss is 'infused with an irresistible scent' and quite a nice flavour too which makes a nice change to other lip glosses out there. Barry M also claim that this lip gloss is an 'essential wear for a dazzling smile'.
In terms of its appearance it isn't particularly striking in my opinion - it is fairly standard looking with a transparent tube with a glass type feel to it and a black lid that screws on and off. The clear tube allows you to see the lip gloss through it, so you can stock up when you're running low! Its also quite a useful way to see how much of the lip gloss you seem to be using as some come off easier than others. The Barry M logo is displayed on the front with the product name, simply being 'Lip Gloss' as well as some information about Barry M on the other side of the spherical tube. The packaging is small enough to fit in your handbag as it is quite compact and at the same time it is light making it very convenient, a big plus sign for me! I would say the packaging overall is quite classy looking, despite it being quite plain. In a way that goes in its favour as it avoids an over load of information or colour which could make it took quite tacky.
--- Price and availability ---
When I purchased this lip gloss it cost me £4.49 from Boots and it can also be found in Superdrug as well as online at a number of websites that stock beauty products. If you think the price is a little cheap eBay might be worth a visit. Alternatively you could wait until Boots have an offer on (that way you can get some advantage card points too!) which will allow you to get more for your money. Currently Boots have a 2 for £7 promotional offer on Barry M products making it a little cheaper. In my local Boots store there weren't many shades of the lip gloss available as it is only a small local town shop. There was a light pink as well as a shade that was more of a browny colour, but I opted for a light shade of pink, assuming that would compliment my skin tone best out of the ones in front of me.
--- Putting it to the test ---
I came to use the Barry M Lip Gloss Wand shortly after purchasing it as I was keen to see whether it would live up to the quality of other products in their range. I found the lid of the lip gloss easy to unscrew and put back on which makes it easy to whip out for a touch up throughout the day. The applicator attached to the lid had nothing unusual about it and was the shape and style of a standard applicator that you would expect to find on most lip glosses. I noticed that it had plenty of product on the applicator brush when I removed it from the tube meaning that it didn't need to be pumped and could be applied straight away. I slathered some onto my lips and I was surprised at how light it felt. I have often found that lip glosses feel heavy and sticky on the lips making them quite difficult to wear for a long period. Once I had applied it and rubbed my lips together a little bit they certainly lived up to the claims that Barry M had suggested. My lips had a shimmer to them and the smell that I had initially noticed lingered on my lips slightly and smelt very sweet, a typical candy smell.
--- Wearability ---
Similarly with all lip glosses, the substance of the product means that they don't tend to last very long. That fact does not differ with this. Once on my lips, it seemed to have disappeared after a couple of hours. Initially it was because I had had lunch, so it was to be expected with food and drink in the equation. After being reapplied, it seemed to almost have just rubbed off for no reason but I think it is because of how light it is. Because of this it needs to be reapplied quite regularly which can be a little bit of a pain, however I expected it with a product of this kind. I have found that the product lasts quite well, despite it needing to be reapplied frequently. I have a good half of the tube left and that is after a fair number of uses so I would say the value for money is quite good in that respect.
--- Verdict ---
Overall I am very pleased with this lip gloss despite being a little unsure with the first impressions of the packaging being a little bland and almost too original. The shimmer in the product is great and the colour was a great match to my skin tone and the make up I usually wear, so its great for both day and night time use, making it very versatile for all occasions. It also offers good value for money as only a small amount of product is necessary for a satisfactory colour on the lips. It is then better still if you can catch this product while it is on a promotional offer, saving you more money but still allowing you to use a really good product! All in all it only seems fair to give this product 5 Dooyoo stars - I am very pleased with it and would definitely purchase it again in the future.
Recently I was doing some online shopping at Very.co.uk as I needed a dress for a special occasion, prior to checking out I decided to browse the websites in search of any bargains and came across the Barry M lip gloss wand. I'm a big fan of Barry M especially their nail polishes and eye shadows so I trusted that the lip gloss would be a welcome addition to my make up bag.
My Barry M lip gloss came in a typical lip gloss tube-tall and plastic with a screw top on which the applicator brush is attached. The tube is transparent so the light pink lip gloss is easily seen through the tube. The design is minimalistic with the Barry M logo on the front and 'lip gloss' printed upon it.
Inside, the light pink lip gloss is quite sticky and this can be seen as soon as you take the wand out of the tube as it looks gloopy and 'stringy'. The lip gloss has a slight sheen and glitter look which I like as this is unique from any lip glosses that I already have. The light colour of the lip gloss also means that you can use it as a soul lip colour or brush some lip gloss over a lipstick colour.
To smell, the lip gloss has a 'candy' type smell to it which is quite tacky and a tad childish but the scent soon wears off after a few hours of wearing the lip gloss. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste like candy when you lick your lips!
The applicator that you can with the lip gloss is a small sponge, I prefer these type brushes but due to the thick, gloopy nature of the lip gloss applying it can be quite tricky and I often have to use my fingers to aid the application process.
I also feel that the lip gloss is sticky whilst it is on my lips and my hair gets stuck in it when I'm walking outside which is annoying but I do love the subtly of the colour and shine as other lip glosses tend to be over the top with either colour or the shine element!
The lip gloss colour I chose was 'sugar pink glitter' which is a very light shade of pink and quite glittery but there are 14 colours in this collection including deeper and lighter colours. I paid £4.50 for this lip gloss from Very.co.uk but they are readily available in drug stores such as Boots and Superdrug and online at Amazon and other beauty suppliers.
