Advantages: Quick, easy nail art for all skill bases

Disadvantages: Some patterns work better than others

Well, I do love nail art but have been a bit stagnant with idea of late... until I saw a friend wearing this. And the creative spark has returned with a vengeance!!
This is an excellent product, and a great price (as per most of Barry M nail products). Some of the colours work more effectively than others - I have had best results with the burgandy colour and the diagonal line, but the blue and starburst pattern are close behind! The colours are interchangable with the magnetic lids too, so you can chop and change if you have 2 or more.
A base coat works best on this varnish, in the colour you are treating. One thing layer, and allow it to dry completely. Then a second, thicker coat goes over the top and - now this is the important bit - the magnet needs to be held over the wet nail varnish STRAIGHT AWAY. Seconds make the difference!! When held steadily over the wet surface (without touching), a lovely magnetic pattern is created, as suggested by the pattern on the particular lid you have bought. The magnet is treated in this pattern, so that it attracts the metal pigments in the wet varnish, forming the styles.
The only negative I would give, is that the zigzag/grid pattern doesn't seem to work as well, as it's a bit too busy to effectively come out cleanly. Also, these may not work well on small nails, as you might not get the full impact the same as on longer nails with a bigger surface area. Lovely product, keep returning to it :)

Summary: Great intro to magnetic varnish nail art
