Advantages: Extensive range, good finish and cheap

Barry M nail paint is a range of around 50 colours that can be bought in shops throughout the UK ( boots and superdrug) or online at barrym.com. The range includes everything from modest pastels to vibrant neons to metallic shimmers and glitter polishes. The 10 ml bottle costs just £2.95 which for a decent nail polish is actually quite cheap.

I've bought 3 different shades over the last year and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I purchased coral, neon green and grey and was impressed with the first two and a little disappointed with the last. The coral and neon green were both vibrant, could be applied easily and have kept their consistency over time. I found two coats to be plenty and the polish dried relatively quickly between coats. However, the grey was less impressive. It was much thicker which made it much harder to get an even coat across the nail. Also, after about a month the nail paint went 'gloopy' and had to go in the bin.

I used the online shop for one purchase and was impressed with the efficiency of delivery. The cost of delivery in the UK is £1.95 which is for the package rather than each individual product. I however, used the european delivery which is more expensive at £5. As I was buying quite a few items this wasn't too bad but for just one product it's a little excessive. On the website it says that overseas delivery can take take up to 4 weeks but in truth it was more like a week which I think is pretty good. I find it better to use the online store as you can find all the nail paints which is not the case in many of the shops stocking the polish.

For any animal lovers (like me) it's good to know that Barry M is an animal friendly company that has never tested on animals. Also, the nail paint is suitable for vegans as are several other Barry M products.

Barry M nail paints are both unique and cheap and was voted the Best Inexpensive Nail Polish Range in Instyle's best beauty buys for 2009. I will definitely keep on using it and would recommend you give it a go.
