Advantages: high shine, chip resistant, economic, vast range of colours

Disadvantages: none!

The Barry M nail paint comes in over 50 different shades and is said to have a long-lasting, high shine formula. The RRP for this nail paint is £2.95 and it is available for online purchase via the Barry M website, www.barrym.com or at your local Superdrug store. As for the vital statistics, the nail paints are said to be quick drying and suitable for natural and acrylic nails. The Barry M Nail Paint range has been voted the Best Inexpensive Nail Polish Range of 2009 in InStyle's top 100 beauty buys of this year. That's me done with the official side, now to the opinions of this product!

Personally, I own 4 shades from this range; Bright Red, Shocking Pink, Red Wine and Raspberry, each to suit a different mood. As well as the traditional reds and pinks, they offer everything from bright white nail polishes to neon shades and polishes containing glitter - the range is definitely extensive. Initially, the price played a large part in the attraction to this product, at £2.95 a bottle living on a student budget, it seemed like a natural choice! Barry M also offers some shades that may be considered high fashion right now, such a cobalt blue and grey, which was big on the catwalks not long back and can look amazing when paired with the right outfits!

I started off just buying Red Wine as an everyday polish in the winter, but then as I bought more outfits for nights out, polishes had to be bought to go with the outfits - a woman's perogative!I now buy only Barry M Nail Paint because it has endless advantages.

For the initial application, it recommends you use a base coat before applying the polish. As with all polishes, this is a good idea because if you wear it constantly like myself, it can take its toll on your nails. It glides onto your nails beautifully, with a very high shine initially. It does dry fast too, not as fast as some but nevertheless I'd say maybe 4 or 5 minutes. Even when dry it has a high shine, wet look that we all strive for when it comes to painting our nails. You definitely need at least 2 coats though; personally I have found it chips really easily with one thin coat one and 2 is definitely the way forward, or 1 thick one if you have the patience for it to dry.

I'm currently wearing the Bright Red shade as it almost has an orange tint to it and really does lift your mood in these early summer months where the weather doesn't really do it for you...I last applied it 4 days ago, 2 coats and it is still absolutely perfect and still retains its high shine finish, which for the price, I think is absolutely fantastic. You may think this would be pretty easy with any nail polish if you didn't do anything manual, but I have a few jobs, one in a shop and one in an office, both of which involve using your hands a lot and the polish has still resisted any chipping at all, what more could you ask for for £2.95? I've recommended this product to a lot of my girly student friends and between us we should now own shares in Barry M!

Summary: beautifully packaged, an amazing choice of colours, cheap AND amazing quality!
