Advantages: Cheap, wide range of colours
Disadvantages: Chips fairly easily
Barry M Nail Paints are immediately eye-catching because of the vast range of over 50 colours including glitter finishes, neons, pastels and brights. The clear bottles allow you to see the colour within straight away, which I find appealing. The brush seems to be slightly smaller than most, this helps to apply the paint more accurately with less chance of making a mess.
The product applies evenly and has a smooth consistency. I find the best application method is to use 2 thin coats as this seems to last longer and has less chance of smudging than 1 thick one. However, make sure you leave plenty of drying time between the first and second coat, and after applying the second coat - this product takes a while to dry and is very susceptible to smudging during this time. There have been plenty of times when I've had to painstakingly re-apply the product to nails which have experienced smudging - very frustrating if you're in a rush to go out!
The nail paint is, however, extremely easy to remove with just a dab of nail varnish remover, and doesn't stain anywhere near as much as other branded nail paints have done.
My favourite shade definitely has to be 'Coral' and I like to wear it when I fancy a change. My one complaint would be that even when using a base and top coat, this product chips and peels far too easily. As such, I don't tend to use this product with the intention of keeping it on for more than one or two days.
At £2.95 per bottle, it won't break the bank to buy a few of those stand-out shades that don't feauture in other branded collections. If you're looking for a change and won't want to wear it for an extended period of time then I would definitely recommend this product.
Summary: Cheap and cheerful
