I have recently discovered a fantastic range of nail varnishes by Barry M. Sorry, that should be'Nail Paint' folk, not Nail Varnish, though personally I don't see what the difference is.

They are not overly expensive and come in a fantastic wide range of colours to choose from. I recently bought myself three bottles from Boots as they were on special offer of buy two and get the third one half price. Not an offer I could refuse easily so I went ahead and bought myself a dark green, dark blue and Jet Black.

Barry M Nail Paints come in chucky funky square shaped bottle, each containing 10mls of varnish. The bottles are clear glass so you can see all the fab colours they have to offer. Some of the colours are a little vivid for me personally, I tend to go for the more subdued tones but these looked so outrageous I just couldn't resist. The selection available is massive however, and it actually took me quite some time before I was able to decide which ones I wanted to buy.

I work in a customer services environment and we are asked to keep our make up (including nail varnish) fairly subdues for work as we are coming into contact with customers face to face, so I wasn't too sure about the glittery green I bought, but for a night out it will be perfect.

I tried the black one first and I love the shape of the brush as it allows me to get right into the sides of my nails without going over the edges and getting the varnish onto my skin. The varnish is a good consistency - not too thick or too runny and I was very impressed by how quickly it dried. In no time at all I was able to go about my business without having to keep blowing on my fingernails as I usually do.

What I really love about Barry M Nail Paints though is the fact that they are SO long lasting. I couldn't believe it that after almost five days of wearing the black varnish it hadn't chipped at all. This is despite my daily using a keyboard and telephone etc at work. How impressive is that?

The varnish goes on so well, is streak free and I would say personally requires two coats (but no more) to get a good finish. I am really pleased I discovered Barry M Nail Paints and I shall be going out now to buy some more just as soon as 31st October arrives and I get paid again!
