~Barry M Nail Paint~
Nail Paint is a range of nail polishes offered by cosmetics company Barry M. There is a massive selection of shades on offer in this range including pinks, oranges, blacks, greens and lots of glittery shades too. Nail Paint is described as being quick drying and are suitable for using on both natural and acrylic nails.
Nail Paint is presented in a rectangular glass bottle with a screw top lid. The shade selection is noted on the base of the bottle and the back of the bottle recommends that you shake this nail paint before using each time.
~Price and Availability~
Barry M Nail Paint is available from www.superdrug.com and instore. Expect to pay £2.99 for 10ml.
I bought my Barry M Nail Paint after seeing some glowing reviews about it. At the moment, I have shade 299 'Racing Green'. Green may seem like an odd choice of shade but I fell in love with it when I spotted it in my local Superdrug store. I have my eye on a few of the glittery shades when I plan on purchasing this weekend. I love the shades on offer and there is something to suit everyone in my opinion.
I like to take care of my nails and have wide selection of shades in my colleciton. I used to be restricted to pale shades when I was at school and worked in an office but now I can't resist the more 'out there' shades like Racing Green. In the bottle, Racing Green is a really dark shade of green which has a shimmer look to it. Personally, I find green shades to be perfect for the festive season and feel this would look good on every second nail and with a red shade in between!
I always ensure I use a base coat to protect my nail from staining and damage. At the moment I am using No7 Smooth Base Coat which leaves the surface of my nails smooth and ready to be painted. The bottle is well designed and the lid is shaped to be comfortable to grasp whilst applying this nail paint. The wand is average length and is complete with a soft applicator brush.
I normally find that most nail polishes can be applied in three simple strokes - one down the middle of my nail and then either side. The brush for Nail Paint doesn't seem to spread as well as other nail polishes so I do need to take a little more time during application to ensure my entire nail is covered. Nail Paint has quite a thick but easily spread consistency and a typical nail polish scent so best used in a ventilated area. It goes on smoothly and doesn't run or become overly messy. I always have nail polish remover and cotton buds at hand to correct any smudges made by my shaky hands.
Racing Green requires two coats but this is the case with most dark coloured nail polishes that I own. The first coat is nice enough but looks a little uneven around the tip of my nail mainly. It takes a few minutes for Nail Paint to fully dry and then I can apply a further coat. Applying the second coat of Nail Paint results in a much stronger and even colour across my entire nail. The finish is bold, smooth and I really like it.
Racing Green looks good on my nails but isn't one which appeal to all. It is dark and leaves my nails with a shiny coating. I sometimes add a top coat to make the colour last longer but if I am short on time I sometimes skip past this task. Whilst the main focus is on a deep green shade, my fiance said that my nails had a blue tinge to them when the light is shined over them.
Nail Paint is certainly more long lasting that some nail polishes that I own. I'm a busy Mum and housewife but find that Nail Paint doesn't chip as quickly as other nail polishes. I experienced 5 days of no chipping at all and even then the small chip that I did notice was easy to paint over without appearing uneven. As long as I apply a base coat Nail Paint doesn't stain my nails. I remove with cotton pads and nail polish remover and it does take a little longer to remove because of the dark shade.
I have been impressed by the high quality of Nail Paint. It is long lasting on my nails and looks good on my nails. For £2.99 it is an absolute bargain in my opinion and I am glad that I read positive reviews as I will be buying more from this range of Nail Paints.
Thanks for reading :)
Summary: I love Nail Paint!
