Barry M Eyeshadow Trio Palette - Golden Goddess

Why Barry M?
A longstanding cruelty free company which produces a good range of appealing cosmetics. I have trialled some Barry M items with pleasing results so why not?

Why this particular palette?
The fact that I get my three favourite colours for blending together or separate use. And it is called Golden Goddess - isn't that reason enough?

On offer even better!
Grabbed this on a three for two offer at good old Boots. Not a bad price to buy alone when not on offer at £5.99 either but I really feel a sense of satisfaction when I have a reduced price for something that I want.

So - I'm a Golden Goddess then!
I could not wait for my make up session the following morning - as it was daytime wear I applied the silky soft colour to my eye lid and under the brow with light coverage. Light on the brow, gold to the lid and a smoky dark brown to the eye line. Fabulous effect! I applied with my own brush which is soft synthetic hair and kind to delicate areas. I do not tend to use the provided applicator brushes or sponges as I find them a little harsh. The one that is provided actually feels quite soft but not as good quality as my own - I shall stick to that.

Evening time came and the make up was still in place so I just needed to add some deeper and richer tones. This was quickly achieved. The design was the same only much darker brown to the lid to emphasise the smoky look. I was not expecting too much from this trio as the price was so competitive - I was very impressed!

Through the day and all through the night the eyeshadow stayed put - I do not like to have to be touching up my make up so this made me happy. No crease marks or smudges appeared. No fading was evident.

Removal of the eyeshadow was simple. I used my Aubrey organics Seabuckthorn soap (especially good for facial washing) and washed my face twice - concentrating on my eyes. Rinsed and all was removed.

Short talk about the compact case
Small, slim, well made, attractive and fit for purpose. Opens via a clasp - remains closed when snapped shut. Three ample sized colour squares which complement each other and can be used in a range of creative looks. Nice applicator is included which has a sponge for blending at one end and a relatively soft brush at the other. Easily stored away. Handy to take out and about should you wish to do so. Nice quality unit with an attractive design to the transparent lid.

A final word...
I am very impressed with this cruelty free, handy sized - sleek - compact eyeshadow trio. At £5.99 or less when on offer this is a great purchase which will last a good length of time and offers lots of creative options. Personally I love the smoky eye look that I can achieve with this set but you can also go for the less is more natural look which is very effective. The golden shade has a sheen to it which stays put throughout the day and I do not have to be re applying. Comes with an applicator comprising brush and blender - at this price it is decent quality but I do prefer my own higher quality softer brushes. This set is definitely fit for purpose and performs very well indeed. I can recommend this one - very nice.
