Advantages: The colours, the consistency of the powders, the price.
Disadvantages: Nothing, other than the mirror in the pallet is small.
A great bargain find with lovely colours in the palettes and good quality cosmetics!
The Company
-----------------
'beautyuk' is not exactly a well known company in comparison to other cheaper end of the scale brands such as Rimmel, or Collection 2000. However, they do have a website www.beautyuk.info which you cannot buy the products from but it shoes you their rather extensive range, the prices and lets you see the products close up to inspect colours etc.
beautyuk claims to be 'committed to consumer safety and product quality, and against testing on animals', which is never a bad thing! They also pride themselves on keeping up to fashion with new looks in their range at very affordable prices... I must agree!
The Packaging
------------------
This palette is set into a black plastic rectangle with 10 circles of eyeshadow in each one, and a strip along the bottom with a thin mirror strip and eyeshadow brush in it. The mirror is a waste of time as it is tiny and you can't see yourself in it, and the eyeshadow brush goes on top of the mirror, so excess powder gets dropped onto the mirror all the time anyway. The mirror fell out of mine pretty quickly anyway but as it was no use in the first place I wasn't particularly heartbroken. It is closed with a see-through plastic lid. There is no space wasted and the palette is a cute compact rectangle with all 10 colours fitted in well.
The product
---------------
The eyeshadows, surprisingly, were of good quality, they came out smooth and easy to blend. The colours were bright and didn't fade or run into each other. They have lasted me absolutely ages and haven't turned hard or gone a bit dry and impenetrable on the top, the way some eyeshadows do. I love the consistencies of the product because they can blend so well into each other I use a few at a time creating very interesting results!
You can buy the palette in any of four colours - bright colours; muted flattering tones; browns beiges and greys; metallic glittery shades. If you go to their website www.beautyuk.info and onto colour pallets you can preview them.
Price
------
The website says you can buy the pallet for £3.49 which is extremely reasonable considering you are getting a decent amount of 10 different eyeshadows. At the time, about a year ago I managed to get a pallet for £2 in an offer at Superdrug.
The range is available from Superdrug, Select, nv and internacionale - though I have only heard of the first two.
Summary: Well, well, well worth it - £3.49 for 10 great eyeshadows you wont have to buy any others again.
