I first purchased one of these eyeliners a couple of years back from my local Superdrug store, I must say that the price was one of the main reasons why I bought it, at £1.99 it's a bargain in my book and definately worth a try. These eyeliners come in a wide range of colours, I chose glittery black.
This eyeliner is applied using a little brush on the end of the long handle you see in the DooYoo picture, I found applying was easy and the brush was just the right thickness to give me the egyptian like flicks I go for. The eyeliner went on smoothly and didn't run or bleed, it took no time at all for my eyes to look perfect. The amount of glitter is just right in my opinion, it gives your eyes a nice glitz without looking like you've been attacked by a tube of glitter glue.
The colours are vibrant and bold (I have since been back to buy this product in gold and green) and they don't smudge easily at all. I can come home at the end of the day with my make up looking just how I'd applied it in the morning. This eyeliner "sets" so if you accidently forget and rub your eyes it shouldn't smudge much if at all, I have sensitive skin and unlike Barry M's eyeliner this doesn't hurt or make my skin sore in the slightest. (Though I did jab myself in the eye with the brush...that does hurt a wee bit lol) This eyeliner is simply removed, I just use normal baby wipes.
For the price this is an unbelievable product, in fact I'd say that it's the best glitter eyeliner I've ever tried and puts many other make up brands to shame! Really I can't fault it.
I have been buying various shades of Beauty UK's glitter eyeliners for many years now, I think it must be around four years to be precise. I currently own the eyeliner in gold, silver, black and green and usually purchase them for only £1.99 from my local Superdrug.
My favourites that I am sure never the be without from the range are the black and green liners. I constantly re-purchase both of these colours when I run out as I just love them so much. They are a staple essential in my make-up bag. However, there are many colours in the range and I am sure that there will be a shade available to suit everyone.
Each liner comes in a 6g pot and has a pointed lid, which serves as an applicator brush at the opposite end. This little brush allows for easy application of the liner and makes it much easier to sweep it along the lid and bottom of the eye. As the brush is so thin, this ensure that not too much of the product sits on it and provides for a smooth, sleek finish.
Often when I have tried to use alternative, more expensive liquid eyeliners, I have found that they went on very gloopy and left me with messy eyes. This means that I would then have to remove it all and start from scratch.
With the Beauty UK liners If you happen to apply it a little unevenly or smudge it, any residue can easily be dabbed away with a face wipe without leaving any marks or ruining the rest of your handywork. Another advantage of these particular eyeliners are that they do not sting the eyes, which can often be the case with cheap, alternative liquid liners.
The colours are very vibrant and the glitter is very noticeable. When you apply the product it really brightens up the eyes instantly. The black liner in particular looks great, as the glitter blends in really nicely with the colour and gives a lovely sultry look.
I always wear these liners when going on nights out - they are an absolute must for giving you party eyes that sparkle. I also like to wear them during the day, although I apply a little less to give a more subtle look. My favourites to wear to University during the day are the black and green shades. Frequently, many people compliment me on how nice my eyes look when I wear the green sparkly eyeliner and often ask what product it is that I use.
When I wear the glitter eyeliner during the day, I will apply it around 6.30am in the morning, just before I catch the bus to University. When I come home at around 6pm, the eyeliner is always fully intact and is in no way smudged. It looks just as fresh as it was 12 hours previously, and I think that this product performs brilliantly considering how cheap it costs.
In my opinion, these eyeliners are of a high quality and look in no way cheap when they are applied and one could be easily fooled into thinking that they are from more expensive brands such as Urban Decay.
For only £1.99 each these eyeliners are great value for money and I would recommend them to any girly girl who wants to spruce up her make up bag and add a little sparkle to her make-up, whether it be for a night out or just for popping to the shops.
This product is a beauty must for me and I award it an undisputed 5 stars as I cannot rave about it enough!
Thanks for reading!
Having finally mastered the art of applying liquid eyeliner, I decided to buy some other colours to go with the usual boring black on a night out. However, being a hard-up student, I couldn't afford much so when I saw these Beauty UK eyeliners I couldn't resist. They sell in Superdrug for £1.99 each, however the Beauty UK brand sometimes has a 3 for £5 offer on. I bought the silver and the blue varieties, however the product also comes in gold, black, pink and green, so there is a shade to suit any eye colour.
The eyeliner comes as shown in the picture. There is a long lid in the colour chosen, which I find useful for application as it means you don't block your eye with your hand, allowing you to see what you are doing more clearly! The eyeliner comes in a triangle shaped pot, which contains around 5g of liquid.
The brush is thin, but flexible. I find that brushes that are too static require a much steadier hand to apply, so it is easier to make a thinner line when the brush bends easily as this one does. The liquid from the tub comes out evenly on the brush throughout the length, however once you start to sweep on your eyelid you will find it is not enough to cover in one go. I think the main problem with this eyeliner is that it comes off of the brush quite quickly on your eye, so the initial point has more liquid on then the rest of the sweep. Having said that, the liquid is quite thin, so you are able to build up the colour as desired. I apply this over a base of black, as this defines the eye and then adds some sparkle!
I have found with other cheap eyeliners that it can chip off your eye as the night goes on, however I was pleased to find that this doesn't happen with this brand. It does however come off easily with make-up remover or facial wipes, so you don't have to be in fear of having glitter stuck all over your face!
Whenever I go out wearing this eyeliner people always comment on how nice my eyes look. Since I purchased mine, some of my friends have too as they think it looks really pretty. There is a danger of going overboard and looking glitter-crazy, but as long as you don't plaster the stuff on, it gives a really nice effect on a night out. And at the price it really is a fantastic bargain!
On a recent shopping trip I was walking around my towns market and got to looking at make up. Usually I only go for brands I'm aware of particularly when it comes to eye make up I'm really very wary of what I choose. I've had alot of problems in the past with eye infections due to cheap rubbish whether bought cheap or it is 'cheap'. A good example of this was a Ruby & Millie kohl Eyeliner that cost me £9.00 but felt like the cheapest rubbish in the world to put on my eyes and gave me an infection from hell! Sad as everything else Ruby & Millie I love! A brand I won't buy now in the eye make up stakes is Rimmel. My eyes hate me for using it full stop.
I suffer with really sensitive eyes though whether I'm wearing make up or not. Today I've worn no make up at all, nipped out and my eyes feel so sore, puffy and dry its unreal so you can imagine from that statement alone the issues I have going on in my eyeballs.
So when I saw this liquid eyeliner for £2.00 in a bucket of cheap products I really had to stop and think. Sure I could be bagging a bargain or buying a cosmetic piece from hell. My take on it was I wanted some eyeliner that was fun and glittery for evening use but I didn't want to pay the earth for it because it's not something I want to use every day and no matter how much I paid for it, it didn't matter as the chances are it was going to upset my eyes anyway. So in the end after careful deliberation I decided to buy one and try it and the only place I wanted to use it was along the rim on the top of my eye anyway so I thought it would be would a bash and would be no big loss at two quid if it was rubbish.
Exactly as depicted on the review photograph (for once!). The base where the colour is held is a triangle shape and see through. The top/handle is also triangle and in my case it's grey. On the front I'm told it's by BeautyUk and I'm also told it's Glitter Eyeliner and on the back in really small writing ingredients are listed with a bar-code. The lid screws off with ease to reveal a short plastic wand with a short brush on the end. Very simple packaging that doesn't look cheap when first bought but saying that after you've owned it for a while the plastic handle colour on the outside of the product does start to fade somehow!
Well my colour is black. Lots of other colours are available either in the glitter formulation (as I have, and am reviewing) in Fuschia Pink, Electric Blue, Jade Green, Black, Silver and Gold. They are also available in all the above colours without glitter as well.
Now you can use this free hand as eyeliner or as I do by using a light line of kohl pencil first and painting over the top with this. I do that for precision and as a guide as I find it so much easier to do and I do this just before I use mascara so all my other make up looks fresh and done before finishing off with them two items. It's not a good idea to use this and then use eye-shadows etc over it because as it's wet powders etc clog up in it and dumb down the colour and you can't see the glitter.
The colour is wet and the brush is easy to control. It's made up of hairs that are tidy and sturdy thought not hard and don't tickle the eyes as you apply which is good for me with sensitive eyes! As I said earlier I've owned mine a while now and every time I use it I get the same results. As I pull the brush out of the colour not once has my product clogged or I've ended up with bits on the brush. It's none drip and doesn't smell of anything and you can get to work and talk about that being easy!
I can use this freehand but because I have jittery hands I prefer a guide as I said and this goes over all make up that you have on whether it be moist eye-shadows or dry powder ones etc. It doesn't feather or 'bleed' and is great for resting over over any tiny lines or wrinkles without getting into them and showing them up more which means this isn't just a product for young folk!
The colour (with glitter as I own) applies on in my case as black under with sliver bits of glitter sort of on the top twinkling brightly. There isn't loads of glitter but well enough to be seen. The more of the product you put on of course the stronger results you get and you can put as many layers of this as you wish as it really doesn't get heavy or go cakey. It's none sticky and easy to apply however if you have droopy eyelids when you apply it you do need to not blink etc to let it dry which it does in in about a minute or so. When it does dry, it dries completely and the glitter doesn't flake off.
Brilliant on every level. Easy to apply, none agitating and once it dries it's none budging. It creates a real stand out look and is versatile to create a really sassy vampy look. It dries quick and it stays where you've applied it to till you remove it with no fading or flaking. I wear mine on a clubbing night and it stays perfect. Its easy enough to remove with cleanser and toner or make up wipes and you don't need a separate eye make up remover as it comes off easy but do watch to make sure all particles of glitter are removed otherwise it does agitate eyes if not careful.
For such a cheap product this is really great and me, well I'm definitely purchasing all the other colours for Christmas time wear! Recommended for eye framing with a difference!
