Advantages: Great coverage, works as a foundation, concealer and loose powder

Disadvantages: Expensive, might be difficult to get hold of unless you buy online

I bought this product after being enticed by the fact that it was mineral foundation. I had heard good things about mineral make-up and was quite keen to try it out for myself. I wasn't outright intending to buy this product but I was stopped by one of those girls who are selling products at stands in my local shopping centre. I was offered a free demonstration and thought I might as well give it a go!

I don't usually use foundation as I've never found one that a) matches my pale skin tone and b) doesn't look like it has been caked on with a trowel (note my poor application skills due to the fact that I don't use it much). If you are not familiar with mineral foundation, it is a lot like loose powder, which makes it a lot easier to apply than liquid foundation if like me, your application skills leave a lot to be desired!

As you can see from the above product image, the pot of foundation has some smallish holes in it so that you can tip just a little bit of the product out. I usually tip it into the lid and use a combination of make-up brush (to apply it across my face if I'm going for just a light coverage) and cotton bud (if I'm trying to cover up spots).

The overall coverage is pretty good but then it should be considering that this set me back £15 (I may have been offered it on a promotion basis so it may actually be more expensive than this). I wouldn't normally pay that much for a single item of make-up, but I've have had this for three months now and it is lasting a long time. It's not even remotely close to running out, even though I use it on pretty much a daily basis. Even if I don't need to use a foundation, I usually use it as a concealer to cover blemishes as it works just as well like that. I have had a lot of trouble finding the right foundation, concealer and powder for my skintone but the lightest shade of this has been a perfect match and serves all three purposes in one.

The big downside is its availability. As I mentioned earlier in the review, I bought this from a stall in my local shopping centre. The stall in question is no longer there, although the girl who sold the product to me is still there and informed me that I can still get replacements for the items I bought (when they run out) as they can order them in. Bellapierre have a website that you can order products from, so this would be the best bet if you are interested in buying it. They seem to be a European brand and the website mostly dealt in Euros when I visited it, although they did have a UK link off the main website. Their make-up does tend to be on the expensive side but I consider it worth the money as a one-off treat as it has done a great job on my skin.

Summary: This has been a godsend for me!
