“ Brand: Benefit „
Now, I don't usually like Benefit products. On the whole I've found them to be extremely disappointing. This product however really is a marvel.
I like to wear quite heavy eyeliner every day - I dress in a 40's / 50's style and fine eyeliner is essential to pull the look together properly.
When I bought this product it was the duo packaging - brown on one side and black on the other. Though I understand they now come individually. I bought it with the Get Bent brush, as recommended by the lovely lass on the counter.
I use the brown for day and the black for night. all I do is add a little water to the brush and mix the product to a thick creamy consistency, and then use the brush to line from inner to outer eye, adding a little flick at the corner for the vintage look I'm after.
This product lasts forever, I've had it for about two years (I know, I know I should have thrown it by now...) and i think its probably got at least anyother 12 months in it. It lasts all day (and all night on occasion) yet is easy to remove.
A wonderful product, my only wish is that the recommended eyeliner brush were a little finer.
Benefit Babe Cakes is one of the best products I have invested in - again Benefit deliver exactly what they say on the tin.
So what is it? Not a cake unfortunately but a dry block of eyeliner - it comes in a small round black case. Mine has half the block black and half brown which means this product can be used to create daytime or night time looks. It costs around £16 (as most Benefit products do) but lasts for ages. I have had mine for about three months already and it is showing no signs of being used up and I ise it every day.
The basic premise of this product is that you add a small bit of water to the cake of eyeliner thus creating a liquid which glides on. The one negative is that you need a brush for this and it doesn't come with the product, but i invested in the Benefit 'Get Bent' eyelines brush which has an angled end to really get a professional finish.
It's not to be applied in a hurry or on the train but it is surprisingly easy to do - you can acheive a natural result or by adding mor product to the brush and painting a thicker longer line a more vampish evening look.
I love this product, I wear contact lenses and it doesn't make my eyes itch like some liquid liners and it doesn't end up half way down my face if my eyes water or in the rain. It can be removed with normal cleanser. All in all another brilliant Benefit product.
Baby cakes is great at getting that perfect line. Better than a liquid liner any day! - Advantages: Glides on smoothly, good choice of colours, Lasts for a long time - Disadvantages: Not water proof( but dont hold that against it!)
A classic cake liner / Use with water for more staying power
