I have the 4g tube of this mascara as it came free with a magazine (I only bought the magazine as I love Benefit cosmetics but like to try them before I fork out full price for them).
The mascara comes in a sleek black bottle with a silver lid that unscrews and pulls out the applicator brush. The applicator is quite full - more like a brush than a comb and is very easy to use. I don't find the mascara clumps at all and it reaches right into the inner lashes.
This mascara makes my eyelashes look much fuller and slightly longer. It's great for wearing during the day although I do prefer Benefit's They're Real mascara for nights out as it gives more of a dramatic look. Bag Gal is my 'go-to' mascara for every day wear as I find it looks quite natural.
Although I got this tube as a free gift, I would definitely be willing to pay for the larger size. The tube I have seems never ending. I use it almost every day and it still shows no sign of running out so even at full price I would say it is good value for money.
I have bought quite a few items in this range and found them to be really suitable. When I saw this one on Ebay for a fraction of the price for a brand new, unopened product I bought it to try and see if it was a mascara I liked.
The mascara comes inside a cardboard box. The tube has a screw off top which holds the wand. It is very easy to twist the top too. The wand has a nice length and the brush is quite large and has nice bristles which are a good length, soft and feel nice on my lashes while applying it. The mascara doesn't drip from the brush.
The brush feels nice on my lashes and it is very easy to apply. I have very long eye lashes and I use 2 coats most times I use any mascara, it is something I have always done and found it is more of a habit but some mascara's don't always need 2 applications. This one I could get away with only apply one but it is my preference to use the 2 coats. I only coat my bottom lashes with one application because I always think my lashes look unnatural when I apply 2 coats to the bottom lashes because I am in my 50's and I don't think the look is a good one for my lashes now I am older if I apply more than one coat. I find the one coat does look nice enough in my opinion for my age group.
It doesn't clump the lashes and separates them nicely in my opinion. My lashes fan out and look quite nice and appear to have a fuller, natural look. My lashes appear a little longer too and although they are really long anyway, they do appear far longer and look most of all natural looking and not like fake lashes.
It also doesn't take long for the first application to dry before I can then apply my second coat, it doesn't smudge and I have found if my eyes water at all while wearing it, the mascara doesn't give me panda eyes, so I think it is a really good mascara being not waterproof in my opinion.
This one is a black colour and it isn't waterproof, I actually thought it was the waterproof one when I bought it because I usually always like to buy a waterproof kind. Being not waterproof isn't a major concern though and so I was still pleased when I received it.
I find I don't need to top up during the day when I use this mascara, the one application lasts me all day long and from morning until I take it off at night time before bed.
I paid only £6 for it as I said earlier in my review I bought it from Ebay at a cheaper price than if I had bought it in a shop. It is priced at £16.50 in store and so I made a huge saving buying it elsewhere and at a bargain price.
It is a good quality mascara and is really easy to remove from my lashes using a good eye make up remover, I have found my cleansers remove the mascara without it irritating my eyes because this mascara dissolves really well to remove from my lashes and so doesn't make my eyes sore.
I do recommend this one if you are looking for a nice mascara which gives the lashes a fuller look but I would suggest looking around for a cheaper price because I think it is overly priced at £16.50 for the full asking price and it can be bought far cheaper on auction sites.
I am pleased I bought this one for the price I paid, I would buy it again in the future but only at a cheaper price and I wouldn't want to pay any more than around say £8 for this one because I think some other brands work just as well for this price.
I wouldn't say it is good value for money if you are on a lower budget and trying to save some money because it wouldn't be affordable for lower budgets. If you can afford to pay the price, I think you wouldn't be disappointed with the way it helps make the lashes look fuller and more natural looking.
One I do recommend and I am very happy with the look it gives my long lashes, if you have shorter lashes, I think this one would be a good one to help them look a little longer.

I give this one 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
Michael Jackson songs aside...
I love Benefit Make up and when I went into Boots recently and saw that they had little kits each containing three miniature for £9.50 I could not resist and brought the set which contains Posietint, Pore Professional and Badgal Mascara. I have tried and loved both the Posietint and Pore Professional but was keen to try the mascara.
However as I do no wear Mascara very often I did not want to buy the full size as it costs £17.50 for 8.5g and would be a waste if I did not like it. So getting to try the mini version was perfect for me.
I found this Mascara very easy to apply but found that I did need several coats to even look like I had any Mascara on. I did not think my lashes looked much different than before I applied and certainly did not think it was as effective as other much cheaper mascaras that I have used such as Avon Supershock, which I much prefer.
It is very easy to apply with the brush, and I did not find it clumpy even after several coats. However the mascara itself did not seem very thick in consistency compared to others I have used and I did not feel that it covered as well or that the brush was as effective at maximising the volume of my lashes.
I also found that it did not stand up to my very mild hayfever and I ended up looking like a panda even though my eyes never really water and tend to feel just mildly irrated.
I was really disappointed with this and feel I certainly would have been 'BAD' to pay the full size version. I really cannot recommend this, for what it is it is very expensive and no better than much much cheaper mascaras.

I had heard numerous positive things about this mascara and the Benefit range on the whole so I decided to get myself some of the products when I had a little more disposable income. Back in June I bought this Bad Gal Mascara in black. I paid around £7 for it from ebay but from Benefit itself it retails at £16.50.
Benefit produce a number of mid-range make up and cosmetics. They are well known for their funky retro packaging and the fun names they give their products. Currently across the UK you can find Benefit in Debenhams stores and there are also a small amount of actual Benefit stores in larger cities.
The mascara comes in a black tube with a mirror effect lid. Compared to the other products in the Benefit range I think this actually looks quite cheap and at a quick glance it would be easy to assume this was a cheap mascara. Maybe if they made the whole mascara tube mirrored or changed the black colour it would look a bit better.
To use the mascara you simply unscrew the lid which is very easy to do. You then use the wand to apply the mascara to your lashes. I found the wand very simple to use. To apply mascara I usually place the wand at the base of my lashes, give it a wiggle and then slowly pull the wand to the tips coating all the lashes with an even amount of product.
I find that this mascara coats my lashes really well and there is never a need for me to go back over the lashes to ensure even coverage. The mascara looks great on and I find that my lashes look much fuller and look longer.
When wearing this I usually need coverage for at least twelve hours. Benefit Bad Gal does live up to this and my lashes stay thick and full for a long time. By the time it comes to removing the mascara it does look a bit less intense due to the long amount of time its been worn for.
The mascara is not waterproof but there is a version that is waterproof. I find that this is not really a problem for me because I can wear it all day with the odd tear and I don't end up with mascara rivers down my cheeks. However, I do get a bit of smudging especially around the bottom lashes.
On the whole I think that the mascara looks good and it lasts well. It stays quite tidy around the eye area and I don't need to reapply it. It provides great coverage and gives thick full lashes. Recommended.
I've bought this mascara a couple of times over the years - usually when I feel like treating myself. I do think Benefit make up does err on the side of being overpriced for what it is but I often can't resist their cute packaging and fun products. I like this mascara a lot and though I know it probably isn't the best value for money I do like to pamper myself once in a while.
The mascara comes in a black cylindrical tube and has a silver metal coloured twist lid. The design is relatively simple looking but the tube is MASSIVE compared to the majority of mascaras out there on the market. It is very wide and this gives you a bit of an indication of the brush size. I love the design of this, the shiny black looks very classy against the silver metal and the oversize swirly writing really tips it over the edge. it's a very feminine and stylish looking mascara without being overly girly or frilly looking.
The mascara brush is huge. It has a cylindrical shape that tapers towards the far end into almost a point. The brush has evenly spaced bristles which are medium spaced apart. The mascara fluid is really great quality, it is quite thick and so evenly coats the brush without clumping it. It is a very deep black colour which is great as I like a really high impact look with my eye make up.
The mascara evenly coats eyelashes with a lovely deep black colour. It doesn't clump at all and doesn't leave lumps in your lashes. I find it is good at separating but even better at creating length. I love this look, it creates big lashes which are really high impact and look beautiful.
So my really big issue has to sit with the price. £16.50 is at least double what I would usually spend on a mascara. I do love the look it achieves but I do find it hard to justify buying this on a regular basis. I do tend to choose this mascara if I decide I want to treat myself to something special but otherwise it's just a pipe dream because it is too expensive to buy regularly.
Overall, lovely product horrible price.
I was bought this for christmas a few years ago and I have to say, I was not impressed. I love the look and the branding of the Benefit products so I was excited to try them, but since using this mascara I have been put off spending my cash on any more of their products.
The mascara comes in a black tube with a silver screw off lid. I found applying the mascara easy enough though the effect really wasnt as magical as I had hoped. It clumped up my lashes really really bad and felt very thick and heavy on my lashes, I also found it stuck my lashes together and gave them a very un-natural look. I like my lashes to look dark and black and volumised but not think and clumpy, I think its a really unattractive look.
I was really disappointed by this mascara, especially considered it costs around £16 to buy, I was expeciting some sort of miracle worker, or atleast a mascara that made my lashes look good in some way or another - which this did not.
I still have a browse through the Benefit products everytime I past the stand in Boots, and I still think they look amazing but I am reluctant to spend money on the products after being so disappointed with this mascara. Overall I wouldnt recommend it, you can buy better mascara's for a couple of quid!
This mascara was the first item of benefit make-up I had ever brought and since then I have purchased many products from this manufacturer. It is a very light mascara which meant I was very sceptical as to the coverage it would leave on my lashes and how long and dark they would look. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised and use this product all the time. It is suitable for everyday use and can also be worn (with an extra coat) for going out as well. I also suffer with quite watery eyes and although it does not say it's a waterproof mascara I have never had the problem of black streaks running down my face.
Benefit is not a cheap brand of make-up so there is a certain level of expectation associated with it, this mascara is quite expensive but definitely worth the money and would be brilliant as a gift for any girl/ woman in you life or if you just want to treat yourself.
