Oooooh Benefit products! Until very recently it was difficult to track this brand down out in the 'provinces'. Even now while its is available in Boots, its not available in my local branch, the only place local for me is House of Fraser. They do have a good selection. But for me Benefit products are that extra special cosmetic that i lust after.

This mascara was free with a magazine a couple of months ago. i often have more than one mascara on the go and had never tried this one before so i greedily snapped it up.

the packaging is gorgeous, striking hot pink, silver and black, it looks professional and classy. and the name is wonderful, in usual Benefit style. i couldn't wait to be bad...

i tried it as soon as i got home! it was quite late and the boyf thought i was mad, buti was very excited.

the brush was full and thick - quite traditional and i was pleased as i'm not too keen on the new plastic comb style. the colour is a full jet black. again perfect for me. any other colour ain't worth it! application was simple. my eyelashes became about 20% fuller, & 10% longer. the black colour was rich, the mascara was fairly wet, but with about 10-15 seconds wait was all dry. my lashes were nicely separated, and i was pleased. it was a fairly natural and pretty look.

so why the poor mark? longevity... there isn't any. at least for me... everyone elses reviews seem to be all positive and i haven't spotted anyone else with the same issue. but by the end of a day i have no mascara left on my lashes, cos its all under my eyes! this creates a unique look - zombie eyes! it makes me look tired and sluggish, not all bright eyed and bushy tailed.

i've stopped using this (it seems to have dried up quickly anyway) and will not be paying £14.50 for a full tube.

so 2 stars for all the good stuff, loses 3 cos it has no staying power.
