Advantages: subtle, nicely packaged

Disadvantages: not good for cheeks, expensive.

Glamourous, somewhat overpriced, nicely packaged and pleasant makeup are a few words I would use to describe san fransisco based makeup company Benefit.

No, using their products will not change your life, and yes you probably are paying over the odds for a non essential item in your life, but hey sometimes we all need to be a little frivalous, and what better way to treat yourself than with Benefit's Benetint.

I have never really been into makeup. However, I was presented with this product as a gift from my more makeuped sister a few years ago for christmas. I didn't quite understand why at first she had presented me with a small bottle of apparently runny red liquid. I also didn't understand why she seemed to be acting as if she had bestowed me with some semi precious gem. I realise now of course, this tiny glass bottle costs around £21.50 and you get for that the said runny red liquid, a sponge and a brush which is attached to the lid of the bottle ( a bit like nail varnishes).

Anyway, my sister then went on to explain "you dab some on your cheeks and it gives you a subtle glow" and indeed it does. It does provide a very natural, non shimmery English Rose look. The bottle says you can also put some on your lips. I used to try this, but after a few nights out of people accusing me of being on the red wine and me being baffled I realised that the Benetint and and lip mix was not a good combo.

However, in all seriousness, I would recommend the cheek thing. You DO look subtle with it on and if you have a tendency to be pale, then this will blend nicely and won't leave you looking like Aunt Sally.

Since I was bestowed with this gem all those christmas' ago, I have purchased a couple of replacement bottles, it being my favoured method of colouring cheeks. A little does go a long way, a bottle should last you around a year.

If you want to feel glam, look a little less pasty and don't need £21.50 all that much, I would say it's definately worth the treat.
