Advantages: Provides a natural flush
Disadvantages: Not great as a lip product
I had a small 4ml version of this product courtesy of Glamour. According to Benefit, this original rose-tinted stain is kiss-proof, see-through colour for lips & cheeks that lasts for hours. Naturally sheer & sexy on all complexions...it's innocent yet provocative. It was originally created for an exotic dancer in the 1970s, benetint has soared to cult fave status. It's loved by celebs, makeup artists and gals around the world. A 12.5ml bottle retails at £24.50 and is available from Benefits counters or online.
The bottle and the applicator mimics that of nail varnish with the glass bottle and the brush attached to the lid. The blush is liquid and deep red in colour and has a strong rose aroma. The applicator brush holds enough fluid to provide one application, so it helps to prevent messy over-applications or drips.
For my cheeks I apply two sweeps of the brush per cheek and then blend in with my fingers. Blending needs to be done within around 10 seconds to prevent it drying. The fluid blends well both on bare skin and over make-up. The result is a deep flush which looks natural and can be intensified with another application.
The colour is long lasting and I don't need to touch up my blush for around 4-5 hours. It doesn't slide of gather in the pores, it just starts to fade after a while.
I tend just to use on this on my cheeks. The odd occasion when I have applied this to my lips, it provides a just bitten, natural look to the lips. However, the colour does start to sit in the cracks of lips after around 30 mins - so I definitely wouldn't recommend this to people with dry lips.
The removal of the blush from the cheeks is problem free. It doesn't permanently stain and comes off with cleanser. As a little goes a long way, I estimate that a full-sized bottle would last around 6 months, so the price of this doesn't work out to be so bad.
Overall, this is a lovely product which provides a natural looking flush to the cheeks. I recommend this to all blusher fanatics - but not as a lip product
Summary: Looks natural and healthy
