You have probably heard of the brand Benefit - it is very widely available and is one of the more high-end brands available in high street stores. I personally love their products - I think they are great quality and really fun, with attractive designs. They're quite expensive, but I think they're worth it.
This particular kit was given to me first as a birthday present, but I have since purchased another kit!
You get a small concealer for the eyes which I don't really like, as it is not the right colour for my personal skin tone, however this is a personal thing and shouldn't detract from the overall impression of the kit.
You also get three eyeshadows. Personally, I used the lightest colour as an all over shade as it is pearly and quite soft and subtle. I then used the middle colour as a contouring colour as it is a darker, bronzey shade. I do not use the darkest colour as the instructions suggest as I think this is a bit of a dramatic effect for my personality. However, I do use it as a subtle liner and also as an eyebrow filler!
The brushes which come with the set are not that great - they're a bit small to be practical. That said, they do mean that you can carry the kit around in your handbag really easily and it contains everything you could possibly need. However, when I am using the kit at home I tend to use other, bigger brushes.
You get a little instruction leaflet too - which is great if you need tips.
Overall, I recommend this product.
As you've probably guessed from my previous reviews I heart Benefit...I can't remember where I first saw this palette but somewhere along the line I figured I needed this in my life and it's one of the few palette's I've bought and used up without getting bored and I've since gone out and repurchased it. I'm in love with it.
Benefit is a high-end brand and it's available pretty much everywhere. You'll find it in any of the department stores and some of the bigger Boots stores stock it aswell. With it's colourful packaging and quirky titles it's very eye-catching, you can't miss it!
* This little kit is all you need to line, define and contour your eyes like a pro
* This kit contains: boi-ing medium, industrial-strength concealer, alabaster pink base shadow, cocoa shimmer contour shadow, rich chocolate brown liner shadow, two brushes for easy application and an illustrated, step-by-step professional makeup lesson.
The first thing that impressed me with the palette was the fact that it came with some idiot-proof instructions and pictures showing you exactly where to put the colours to get the right look. It also contains brushes that are labelled so this palette really is all you need. I don't tend to use the brushes that come in eyeshadow compacts I prefer to use my own but this is still handy for using the product out and about.
The colours in the palette are very pretty and soft, perfect for an everyday look. There is a soft pink shimmer, a pale brown shimmer colour and a darker chocolate brown for the liner shade. I would say they would look very flattering on anyone regardless of skintones, hair colours etc. I also broke the rules a little when I fancied a change and applied the liner colour in the crease and that works aswell so there's some versatility with it.
The texture of the shadow is smooth and silky and easy to apply. They are not incredibly pigmented but I think there designed to be soft, however the colours are buildable so you can always apply more if the colour doesn't feel strong enough for you. They do have a slight shimmer to them but nothing shocking, they are certainly suitable for daytime use. I applied the shadow without an eye primer and I found they stayed on very well and didn't crease.
If that's not enough for you there is also a concealer included, it's the Benefit 'boi-ing' concealer in the shade '02 medium' which is the best-selling shade in the range. This can be applied with either your fingers or a brush and covers brilliantly especially any dark circles underneath the eyes.
I love Benefit packaging, I'm a sucker for anything brightly coloured and quirky. The palette comes in a removable sleeve which slides off, there is then a flip-top on the actual palette which closes with a magnet so the products are well protected. Inside the palette there is a pretty decent sized mirror (again very handy if your out and about) Only thing that wasn't great was I found a lot of the eye shadow dust seems to get into the concealer. : /
VALUE FOR MONEY:
At £24.50 it isn't particularly cheap but considering everything included and the quality of the make-up I think it's worth it.
I loved this and I'm already on my second palette so I highly recommend it.
Santa knows that I have a bit of an addiction to make-up products and, particularly to the little kits that Benefit produce, so this year I wasn't entirely suprised to find 'Big Beautiful Eyes' waiting for me in my stocking - after all, I had been a very good girl (most of the time anyway!) I have now been using this kit for a couple of weeks, in rotation with another Benefit Box ('She's So Jetset') and this review focuses on my experiences so far.
* Product Information *
"Big Beautiful Eyes" is described as an eye-contour kit and comes in a mid-sized flip-opening box with an image of a beautifully made up eye, and two smaller eyes showing details of the contents. This box is inside a cardboard sleeve which matches the box. Inside the box, there are four products - the largest of these is the 'Bo-ing' concealer (1.8g size), and then there are 3 eyeshadows (0.8g each) in a base shade, a contour shade and an liner shade. There are also two small brushes - a single-ended concealer brush and a double-ended eyeshadow brush. There is a mirror built into the lid of the box, which is always handy for touching up your make-up when out, and a little instruction booklet which explains how to create the desired 'big, beautiful eyes' look.
* Application and Results *
According to the instruction booklet, you should start by filling both sides of your concealer brush with 'Bo-ing' and lightly draw a line on top of your dark circles, before using your middle finger to blend it lightly over the under-eye area. I don't always find 'Bo-ing' to be the best concealer - there are some days where it seems to do a good job, and other days where I find that I get better results by using Lemon Aid - maybe it just depends on how much sleep I've had the night before. Dark circle elimination issues aside, it is easy to apply the concealer and it does minimise the dark circles to some extent. The next stage is base shadow application which is a very simple process. The base shadow in this kit is a light rosy pink and this is easy to sweep across your entire eye area from lash line to brow bone. I like this colour and find that it warms the appearance of my face up slightly which, in this freezing weather, has got to be a positive thing. The third stage is to apply the contour shadow which is a mid-brown colour - again, I find this colour flattering and both easy to wear and to apply. The final stage is the application of the liner shadow, which is a dark brown. This has a different texture to the other two powder eyeshadows and instead is a lot more solid and chalky. It is relatively easy to apply, although I don't tend to use it in the way that the instruction booklet suggests as I find it ends up looking a bit messy when under under my bottom lashes. I use it more as a highlighter on my eyelids and stick with a more traditional liner on my lower lash line. Overall though, I find that this is a flattering eye make-up look which is suitable for work without overuse of the liner shadow and can be made more dramatic for evenings out by using the liner shadow. I always use a primer under my eye shadow and have found that this is a long-lasting product which still looks good at the end of a long day.
* Cost *
Benefit "Big Beautiful Eyes" costs £24.50 from Benefit stores and beauty counters nationwide. It is fairly expensive for what it is, although you do get the concealer as well as the eyeshadows which makes it a bit more worth the money.
* Final Thoughts *
This is a product which I enjoy using and gives me good results. It isn't my favourite current product (maybe because I am loving 'She's So Jetset') but it is one that I use regularly and will continue to use at least once a week for the foreseeable future. I really like the two 'traditional' eyeshadows and, despite my application issues with the liner shadow, I think this is also a good addition for creating drama and definition with your eye make-up. The addition of the Bo-ing concealer to this set is also a positive - it is ideal for slipping into your handbag for those emergency touch-ups and minimises the amount of products that I need to carry around with me. Overall, I would recommend it but I would subtract one star as I'm not convinced it is great value for money and the liner shadow could be a bit easier to apply.
Price - I purchased Benefits Big Beautiful Eyes contour kit off of the Benefit stand in my local boots for the price of £24.50. I find all benefit products to be expensive, but I think that this product is reasonably good value for money. Inside the kit there is a generous portion of Boiing concealer and 3 eyeshadows (a base, contour and liner shadow). There is also a concealer brush and double ended eyeshadow brush (one end is a brush, the other liner).
Packaging - If you remove the thick cardboard sleeve, the case is magnetic and holds shut easily on it's own. I personally kept the plastic eyeshadow cover to avoid contamination of the concealer, so if you don't do this then the shadows may get into the concealer and cause some problems. There is also a 'how-to' guide on the back on the palette.
Use - The concealer shade is perfect for me in the summer months as I am naturally quite pale in the winter. All the shadows are good, especially the liner colour and I find them to sit well all day. The brushes provided work well, and are not compromised by their small size. I finished off the natural brown smokey eye look using brown mascara.
Here I am reviewing yet another beautiful benefit product. The big beautiful eye, an eye contour kit is another one of my make-up favourites. The gorgeous little kit comes packaged in an attractive little magnetic box which makes transportation easy, as items do not fall out and it fits perfectly into your hand-bag.
The product contains the following items which help you achieve a glam wide eyed look:
* boi-ing 02 , industrial-strength concealer
* alabaster pink base shadow
* cocoa shimmer contour shadow
* rich chocolate brown liner shadow
* two brushes for easy application
* an illustrated, step-by-step professional makeup lesson.
The kit retails at £24.50 and can be purchased from Boots, Debenhams or can be dispatched within 24 hours from www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk.
I was first introduced to the product at a benefit make-up counter, I already had the smokin' eyes box set, which I loved and was looking for a similar daytime alternative. The big beautiful eyes provided me with exactly this. The stunning neutral shades look lovely on any skin type, and due to the neutral tones go with most outfits. I have found the pack to be rather versatile, because if I want a daytime look I apply the two lighter shadows and then apply the brown liner shadow to the outside of my eyes and for an evening look I put the chocolate liner shadow on my upper lids which I find creates a more dramatic look.
The kit is perfect for fair haired beauties as if you are not a fan of dark eye liner, you can use the dark brown shadow and liner brush provided to produce a defined but far more subtle look. So you can widen your eyes without using harsh eye pencils. The kit also comes with a boi-ing concealer compartment, which suits my complexion well as I am fair-medium skinned. The concealer really helps to finish the look and perk up tired eyes. I have read from other reviews however that the boi-ing concealer is not suitable for very fair skinned girls.
Overall I really loved this kit, I probably prefer it to the smoking eyes kit as I can wear it day and night and the colours are just so pretty and with practice you can really achieve that big beautiful eyed look! It's really helpful that the kit comes with a step by step guide to help you contour those eyes. I also think it is good value for money, £24.50 seems expensive, but when you consider you get the brushes, a mirror, 3 shadows and a concealer all in one convenient pack it's really not too bad.
The only downside to the product is that I found after a while the dark shadow started to mix a little with the concealer, which can affect the colour of the boi-ing O2. So I have to blow over the boi-ing to ensure I do not get brown streaks in my concealer. I also miss having the brow wax, which is provided by the smoking eyes kits; just because I think I eyebrow definition really finishes any make-up look. I however use the medium brown benefit eye pencil with this kit to finish my look. Apart from these minor flaws I absolutely love this kit and would not be without it!
*This review may contain bits & pieces from other reviews I have written. So if some snippets look familiar that is probably why!!*
Before I started writing for Dooyoo I hadn't heard much about the Benefit brand. I knew it was a brand that was quite pricey but I also knew there were so many products from the range that I wanted to try out - and so with my Dooyoo earnings I decided to do just that. But rather than buying every single product individually I decided on buying a few sets so I could try out sample sized products and see if I would buy them again in the future. I think I have now tried all of the Benefit sets and while they have all been amazing this 'Big Beautiful Eyes' I think has to be my favourite. It might not have as many products in it but the results and ease of use make it a must have for any woman's make-up collection in my opinion.
Price - This is priced at £24 on the Boots website - however I picked up this set for under £10 so Id say shop around!!
Stockists: Amazon (where I picked up my bargain!!), Boots, Debenhams, The Benefit website etc ...
Other Info: This set includes - Boi-ing Concealer, Pink base eye shadow, a Cocoa Shimmer contour shadow, a Chocolate liner/eye shadow, 2 applicator brushes & a step by step guide on how to use and apply each product for the finished effect - so you do get quite a bit for your money in my opinion.
- - - - - - - - -
The packaging for the products - as in the case of all Benefit sets I think - is really cute but this one is a little more toned down than the others - which is by no means a bad thing! On outside of the box is a beige cardboard sleeve that has the brand name on the front with pictures of eyes and little tips about application and then on the back is all the information: what products are contained in the set, the ingredients contained in each product and what each product does for your eyes. I like the fact that it has that sleeve as I think the box would fly open a lot without it and when the box contains eye shadow (which I normally break VERY easily) I think the box design is much improved with the sleeve. Inside the pull off sleeve is the box - that box also has a magnetic strip on the inside that makes sure even without the sleeve that the box wont fly open and ensures that all the shadows stay fresh and pressed for the next time you use it. The inside is clearly sectioned out for each product - the Boi-Ing being first and then the eye shadows in the order you are supposed to apply them - the base, the contour shadow & then the chocolate liner/shadow - lastly the 2 brushes are in a small groove at the bottom - so everything is organised and very easy to put back once you've used it, just how I like my make-up to be personally. Oh there is also a plastic cover for the make-up to make sure it stays fresh and doesn't smudge all over the cardboard on the edges and the manual on how to apply each product sits on top of that.
The case is actually very small - much smaller than I imagined - its no bigger than my hand in size actually but if anything that makes the design even better for me. It means I can take it out and about without it taking up tonnes of room in my bag and it makes it easier to use all the products on the go I think - bigger isn't always better girls!! The design is cute and practical, an all round winner!
- - - - - - - - -
So now Ill write a small section about every product (don't worry I wont post full reviews!!) just the parts I think are most relevant:
Boi-Ing Concealer -
Now although there is a small brush in the set for applying this concealer I personally find it much easier to apply & blend with my fingertips - its a very creamy and thick concealer and I find it tends to clog up the brush but everyone will have a different opinion on that I suppose. When I apply this to my skin it is very creamy and easy to blend but I do feel that it is quite heavy. My skin doesn't feel too clogged or anything like that but the areas that I do apply it too do feel slightly heavier than the rest of my face - its not a light concealer in the slightest - big disadvantage in my opinion.
I have to say I don't think the coverage is any better than most other concealers Ive tried - cheaper ones than this offer the same effects in my opinion although the don't last as long so there is good and bad points about this one. A good thing is that it does last all day which is brilliant for me as I don't get the chance to re-apply make-up while I'm at work so I know if I apply this before I go the spot/dark circle will still be covered by the time I leave and it doesn't smudge or leave patches at all - if this cost about £5 Id be buying it all the time but I don't think the price is justified in this case.
- - - - - - - - -
As I mentioned previously there are 3 different eye shadows in this set and when used all together you hope to achieve what I would describe as a daytime smokey eyed look - just what I was looking for when I bought this. Now the first shade is a base coat which is applied all over the lid and is a VERY light brown, 2nd is the contour shadow which is a medium brown and is applied along the creases of your eyes to create a slightly darker edge and more definition, lastly is the very dark brown shadow which is used as a liner for an extra dark and bold edge - not quite as bold as a normal smoky eye but it does awaken and add emphasis to your eyes. Now when used all together these eye shadows are probably the best Ive ever used - I am a massive smoky eye fan but like many others I find that look way too heavy for the daytime but not when I'm using these! These create the same look just more toned down - you get all the boldness and emphasis without looking like your caked in make-up or looking too OTT for the daytime - these eye shadows have become part of my everyday make-up routine. But obviously they can also be used individually for a very natural look and they look just as brilliant that way as well - I like to use the lightest of the trio for when I'm at work - I'm not supposed to wear make-up there and this helps me feel covered and a bit better looking LOL without my boss moaning so its perfect!
Also they are brilliant quality in my opinion. These colours last all day on my eyelids without creasing or fading and they blend together perfectly to create the desired look. I could gush about these all day but seriously if you can find these shades either individually or in this set buy them immediately and trust me you won't be disappointed!

Step-By-Step: This guide is totally amazing because it makes this set perfect for not only people who want the smoky eye look but also for people who want it but don't know how to achieve it. The guide is very simple and easy to follow - as it only has 4 steps! - and whether your amazing at applying make-up or not I think you will be able to follow the steps with ease. The instructions are very short and sweet and if you follow them I guarantee your eyes will look amazing - mine have never looked better since I started following this guide so the step by step tip booklet is a great added feature I think.
The Brushes: Now don't get me wrong I like the fact that there are brushes included in the set however ... they are the best. I find the concealer brush in particular became clogged up very easily and was a nightmare to clean (which is why I switched to using my fingers). Also you only get one eye shadow brush which means you have to clean it off after each colour (if your layering them up) which if your out and about applying this isn't really an option - having said that the brushes seem to be good quality and are very soft on your skin. I just don't use them THAT much anymore as they seem to make the process of applying the products longer for me.

Advantages [Of The Set Overall]
* Compact & cute design.
* The eye shadows are AMAZING.
* The products can be used alone or all together.
* Great overall finished look when applied with the tip book.
Disadvantages [Of The Set Overall]
* You don't get to choose your own shade of Boi-Ing (not a problem for me but for others it might be)
* The brushes aren't all that!

Yes this set does have a few minor issues but I don't think that really matters overall because everything else about it is amazing. This has become a set that I use on a daily basis without fail and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to everyone. Whether your a make-up junkie or a total newbie you will benefit from this and it has tips and colours to suit everyone - highly recommended a 4* set I think.
Thanks For Reading.

This is a great little kit with some really nice subtle colours.
It even comes with step by step instuctions for those that aren't confident applying makeup correctly. But if you are more confident you can play around and create subtle daytime looks or darker evening looks with the same eyeshadows.
The set includes boing concealer which gives good coverage. A base eyeshadow, and a contouring eyeshadow and a shadow liner. But you could also use the liner as a darker contouring colour.
The set lasts a long time and is in a really convenient,slim package that you can slip into your makeup bag no problem. the only issue is that it doesnt securly close very well, meaning I have at times had to keep mine in a small plastic bag to avoid making a mess.
The mini brushes are cute, but only worth bothering with to touch up and not to apply the product from scratch!
Benefit describes this product as follows: This little kit with BIG results is all you need to define, contour and enhance your eyes. We've included everything you need to "go pro" with the perfect shades and tools to create that coveted contour look that everyone loves. You'll thank us later.
A lovely little magnetic case with a sleeve and has a with a mirror inside.
I love this product! It's by far my favourite Benefit product.
This product does exactly what it says on the tin and creates big, beautiful eyes within 10 minutes.
The product contains 3 eyeshadows, a concealer (which also doubles as a base) and also 2 brushes.
The kit also contains a lesson which is very easy to follow. I would also recommend looking at some videos on youtube which explain it very well and show how it looks on real life. This will compliment the Benefit lesson.
The only downside is that 'Boing' (the concealer) is too dark for my skin tone and so this one goes unused. It would be better if Benefit did 3 sets, one with each shade of boing so that you could choose the one that suits you best.
Overall, Big Beautiful Eyes is easy to apply. It isn't waterpoof and can sometimes irritate my eyes but I put this down to the fact that I don't wear make-up much.
I would buy this again when it runs out and would highly recommend to friends.
Benefit is one of the most expensive high street make up companies that I have come across, although their price tag is suited to the products as they all perform to the highest standards.
This small compact kit contains big results! It helps to perfectly define, contour and enhance your eyes for a gorgeous finish! It contains some beautiful shades that you will love. The palette contains 'boi-ing' medium for use as a primer, alabaster pink eye shadow as a base, cocoa shimmer countour shadow and rich chocolate brown liner shadow. Do not worry if you are a first timer with eye shadow application like this as it comes with an illustrated leaflet that tells you what to do.
The kit comes in a small flat box with images on the front of eyes with 'Big Beautiful Eyes' on the front. Inside the colours are split into sections with a mirror on the top and two brushes to help you apply. I think this box is a typical style for Benefit but it catches your eye and appeals to all ages!
Benefit can be brought in some department stores, Boots, Benefit shops or the Benefit website. The kit costs £21.50. You can probably pick it up online for cheaper also.
In my personal opinion, this kit makes your eyes look fantastic! I did not know how to apply it at first, but the instructions are so easy to follow and your eyes look exactly like the one on the front (although yours are real not drawn obviously). It is a really good investment for your every day make up collection!
Big Beautiful Eyes Palette is an eye contour kit by Benefit. The set comes complete with all the shades and tools needed to line, define and contour your eyes in the style of a professional. It costs around £20 but you may find it cheaper if you have the time or inclination to shop around. It is available from larger department stores such as Boots and also online from sites such as Benefit and Asos.
As with all Benefit products, it is beautifully packaged. It comes in a casing that is small enough to fit comfortably in your handbag and has a flip lid in order to open the product. Inside the lid, you will find a mirror to enable you to apply the product when you are on the go. Inside the beautiful set, you will find;
1.8g of Boi-ing which is described as being an industrial strength concealer. In this set, it is to be used as a rich concealer to hide the dark circles and shadows under your eyes which leads you to looking tired. It promises to cover up all your imperfections without fading or creasing, and will make you eyes look brighter and more wide awake.
0.8g of Alabaster pink base shadow
0.8g of Cocoa shimmer contour shadow
0.8g of Rich chocolate brown liner shadow
Two brushes for easy application. One is to be used as a concealer brush and the other as a liner brush.
And an illustrated, step by step professional makeup lesson which explains clearly and in detail how to use the product.
You are instructed to use the concealer brush to sweep a little Bo-ing under the eye and then to use your finger to blend in the cream. The warmth from your fingers will encourage the product to blend better than if you use a make up sponge. Next, you need to apply the Alabaster pink base shadow by sweeping the rose powder across the entire eye, from the lash to the brow bone. This makes the eye look more wide open and also acts as a brow highlighter.
After that you are told to use the contour brush to sweep the Cocoa Shimmer shadow from the corner of your inner eyelid where your eyelid creases to produce a shadow effect. The Rich Chocolate shadow acts as an eyeliner and you need to use the liner brush to draw a line underneath the lower lashes and just above the upper lashes for extra definitions.
The overall appearance when finished is of a natural but wide eyed appearance and your eyes will be enhanced and defined beautifully. It's suitable for the daytime, as the shimmer is delicate and the powders are light. The pack can be carried with you and the shadows can be applied with a wet brush for a more dramatic evening look. The whole kit and instructions make you feel like a professional is holding your hand as you go and gives you the encouragement and confidence needed to try a new look.
So, the negatives. Over time, you'll find that the concealer will begin to dry out way before you're finished with the powders. This is because it is cream based and usually Bo-ing comes in an airtight container, whereas in Big Beautiful Eyes, it is exposed to the air every time you open the lid. I'm a die hard Touch Eclat fan though so I tend to use that underneath my eyes instead of Bo-ing as it achieves a more radiant look. I also prefer to use a liquid eyeliner of my own along the top lashes for further definition.
Apart from Bo-ing, the product is extremely long lasting on your eyes and it will last for ages. It will be a long time before you'll need to think about buying a new one, I've had mine for a year. The instructions make it simple to achieve the look and it does make a subtle but very definite difference to your eyes. If you're looking for Big Beautiful Eyes, you will have just found what you were looking for.

I have read so many amazing reviews on benefit eyeshadow i wanted to give it a go for myself! I just didnt want to pay the price in debenhams £23.50!!!! I managed to grab a bargain off ebay and purchased it at £7.99!
Unsure what colours to go for this small compact had it all!
I didnt need to worry about buying three different shades that harmonize with each other as this selected the right shades for me.
It also contains step by step instructions on how to apply-which is great. It teaches you how to acheive smouldery eyes.
It has the pearly pink for under eyebrow.
The shimmer brown for eyelids.
The darker matt brown which can be used in the outer corners to give that smouldery effect.
(The darker brown can also be used under the eye wet or dry and can be used to fill in eyebrows!!!
The brushes are good too-thicker blendy brush, smaller eye liner brush and the concealer brush........which brings me to the only fault with this product........
If you are very pale skinned like myself the concealer is way too dark, it makes me look orange.
Apart from that the set is really nice but i must add that i dont think you get enough of the shimmer brown colour as you tend to use that more as you cover youre entire eyelid with it where as the other colours are not used as much. Therefore i have run out of that colour but still have plenty of the other colours left.
I must stress though-the colours do stay on for hours, have a soft velvety texture and feel nice on and the fact that the dark brown can be used as an eyeliner and eyebrow filler is an advantage.
Would i buy again????
Definately not at the recommended retail price but if i can grab a bargain off ebay again then yeah!
** The product **
Big Beautiful Eyes is an eye contour make-up kit from the wonderful brand Benefit. It's a palm sized little compact that snaps shut with a concealed magnet, and has an outer sleeve. Inside it there is a decent sized mirror, and all you need to create 'big, beautiful eyes'. Benefit have included their under-eye concealer, 'Bo-ing', some base shadow in alabaster pink, contour shadow in a light brown tone and a darker chocolate hued liner shadow. It also includes two double ended mini brushes to use with each of the pallets. But the best bit of all is the nifty fold out instruction booklet showing you step by step how to apply each element to give you a professional look.
** Availability **
It's available in department stores such as Debenhams and John Lewis, as well as at some Boots stores and of course online at Amazon and EBay etc. It costs (brace yourselves...) £23.50. Once again a very pricey product from Benefit. Considering how little actual make-up this contains I think that's a lot to pay. But the packaging does make up for it a little and the quality of the product is high.
** My experience **
It's a wonderful looking compact, and as with all Benefit products a lot of thought has gone into the design. It's a pleasure to use, but the outer sleeve had to be dispensed of after a while as it was getting quite irritating to fiddle around getting in the compact when time is of the essence. The mirror is large enough to be useful and is covered by the instruction booklet so it won't get all dusty in between uses.
The brushes are really good quality, and feel nice and soft to use. The angled concealer brush takes a little getting used to, and I find it easier to just blend the concealer with my fingers. It's great to have a brush for each colour, as so many make-up kits don't think this through and only provide one which is pretty useless, needing to be cleaned every time a different colour is applied.
The 'Bo-ing' under-eye concealer is excellent. It covers dark shadows really well and doesn't have to be trowelled on - a thin layer will do. At first I found after a few hours it would sometimes build up in the creases under my eyes and need some blending, but now I tend to dust some powder underneath the concealer and this stops that from happening. The colour even matches my skin pretty well all year round, whether I'm pale or tanned. The concealer does not dry out, or crack and harden, even after a couple of years, which is impressive.
The base shadow is nice and subtle, with a little shimmer. It gives a good foundation for the darker contouring shadow, and I don't find this builds up in my eye-creases over time. The liner shadow is a slightly denser consistency so it stays put once applied, and doesn't go everywhere when I'm actually applying it.
The instruction booklet is a God-send; I don't ever look at it these days, but in the beginning it meant I was getting a better overall effect than I would have been able to figure out alone. It really is like having a professional make-up artist on hand. The booklet has diagrams as well as annotations so it's pretty fool-proof.
The effect can be as subtle or as dramatic as you like depending on how much of the darker hues are used. It's suitable for both day and evening looks. Teaming it with lashings of mascara gives a really bold effect and definitely lives up to the 'Big' in it's name, whilst keeping it light and with minimal other make-up will give a subtle definition to your eyes. I like it because I can get a fairly natural look, which is suitable for day to day wear.
I've been using this little make-up kit for about six years, and have purchased three replacements in that time. It lasts very well considering how small each of the pallets are. The other good thing is that all the different elements seem to run down at a similar rate. Benefit have put just the right size pallet in for each cosmetic, unlike other kits which leave you with a load of liner, whilst all the base runs out, or vice versa.

I'd recommend this product to any ladies looking for a compact and efficient day-time eye make-up set that they can carry around in their handbag. If you have tried other Benefit products, and like them, then I can almost guarantee you'll love this one.

Since I received this as a present, these sorts have Benefit products have become a make-up bag staple for me. They are easy to use, compact and so so pretty!
Big Beautiful Eyes does just what it says on the tin - it makes your eyes, well, big and beautiful. The kit contains an incredibly easy to follow illustrated guide that makes it easy to achieve great results that look natural and effortless.
What I love about these kits are that they are easy to pop into a handbag and can be used on the go without all the fuss of having separate brushes and different coloured eye-shadow pots. The Big Beautiful Eyes kit provides everything that is needed for a toned down, daytime look. The concealer covers dark eye-circles very effectively and blends in to a range of different skin tones. The two lighter eye-shadows to provide contouring of the eye cover extremely well, compared to some brands on the market, and the angled brush allows the darker shadow to be applied accurately to both the eye and the eye-brow.
In short, I think this is an incredibly well thought out product and is well worth the money particularly when you consider what all the different components would cost separately - it will last the whole day and has everything you need in one (very pretty) little box!
First things first, this product is not particularly cheap in store at £23.50 (Benefit shops, the larger Boots, Debenhams) but I bought mine for a steal on ebay, I suggest you do the same!
It really is fantastic. Inside the pretty illustrated paper packaging (typically Benefit) there's a concealer (Bo-ing shade no.2), a pretty dusky pink eyeshadow, a darker milk chocolate eyeshadow and a very dark cocoa shadow. There are also two brushes - one is a concealer brush and the other is double ended - one typical shadow brush and the a liner brush (with a thin flat edge). There's a small mirror on the inside lid of the "compact". You also get a slip of paper with instructions on.
The concealer is very useful. Even if it is not your perfect shade you can smother it on your lid where the powder is going to go and it holds everything in place. If it is your perfect shade then you can use it wherever, eyes or otherwise. The brush is super useful - a good quality brush (the other is as well). It's well designed so that you can be precise and hold the right amount of concealer. The concealer itself is solid and melts on the brush and when it gets hot.
The pink powder is to go right over your eye and to your brow. It's a very light iridescent colour and suits most people I would have thought. The milk chocolate colour powder is for contour - the instructions show you how to brush it along the crease and the tip of your eye. The liner is the best bit. The brush with the flat edge picks it up perfectly and you draw a little line around the outside of you eye. It really is lovely - softer than a pencil liner, it really does widen your eyes right up.
In short, this is easy to apply and I've been wearing it every day! Sometimes I just wear a small amount of liner for the day time and then crank it up with a thicker, heavier line in the evening. I can even add pencil liner to the inside of the lid to give a more dramatic look. The concealer works well in that it holds everything in place and the two shadows are perfectly complimentary and really give just enough colour and shape!
Another super useful thing about the pack is that the liner powder doubles up for me as a filler for my eyebrows. Just a tiny amount added to give definition.
I adore this palette; I'm using it almost every day.
This palette has 3 powder shadows that have been chosen to enable you to create the perfect smoky eyes look. The look is perfect for day, but you can then add more of the liner colour for a more striking evening look.
You get an alabaster pink shadow for the whole eye lid, a cocoa shimmer contour shadow and a rich chocolate brown liner shadow.
The final cosmetic item in this palette is a pan of Boi-ing concealer (02. The medium shade). Last, but not least are 3 brushes and a step-by-step 'how to' guide.
The brushes are a fantastic quality and they really do make the application easier and professional looking. The guide is so easy to follow; I only had to read it once. It is so easy to use everything in this kit.
The palette itself is a thick card, with a magnetic fastening. It comes with a mirror in the lid, perfect for touch ups.
The only issue I've had with this palette is with the concealer. I do love boi-ing, but the 02 shade in this kit is too dark for me. But that is only a tiny niggle compared with everything else this set has to offer.
