California Kissin' was the first ever Benefit product I bought and impressed me so much I'm now a little bit of a dedicated follower of the range. I first bought this in Winter when my chapped lips were bothering me so much that I just grabbed the first quality brand lip balm I saw- and it happened to be this one. The assistant at the time advised me it would give me minty fresh breath and a bright smile along with moisturising my lips; I didn't really care about that at the time. The lip balm comes in a sturdy cardboard box which is a lovely blue, summery colour just like the lip balm itself. It costs £14 for a 12.5 gram tube. The tube itself is squishable ... I'm afraid this product does not live up to all of its claims, mind you to be honest I never really expected it too given that for a lip gloss Benefit claimed it would brighten up my smile and freshen up my breath as the blue sheen that it is meant to add to your lips means that your teeth look whiter, well that proved to be a load of hock-em as far as I could tell as I could see not difference after applying it. Now you will not end up with blue lips when you use this product as the blue tint is very subtle but you will not end up with a whiter smile either. It comes in a soft tube which you can squeeze, there is an applicator inside and the gloss itself is a ... Read the complete review

California Kissin' is no ordinary lip gloss. At first glance, it can appear unusually weird with the aqua shimmering gel strongly resembling toothpaste which is not usually something that you would smear all over your lips. Initially, this sparkling blue lip gloss can look off putting in comparison with the more comforting red and pink shades you may be used to seeing. This bizarre trend continues when you add into the equation that the packaging also looks like a tube of mini toothpaste and is coloured with fresh, cool blues and greens. However, it is not a coincidence or crazy mistake that Benefit has chosen to design this product in this way. With this ... Read the complete review

Just after Christmas I got a load of vouchers for make-up at Debenhams so I decided it would be a good idea to get some items from ranges that I dont normally try such as Urban Decay, Too Faced & Benefit and Ive been using those products ever since but oddly never got around to writing about them but as today Im attempting to get all my lip product reviews out the way I cant think of a more perfect time to start and I plan on starting with this one "Benefit California Kissin'" which attracted my attention for loads of reasons but mainly because I was really interested in whether this would do as it promised - the claims just seemed way too good to be ... Im a massive fan of all Benefit products, but up intill I found this I wasn't that impressed with any of their lipglosses. I have used many blue tinted lipshines before such as an Estee Lauder and Lancome one as I like the finish it leaves, so when I saw Benefit had done one I had to give it a try. Dont be put off by using a blue lipshine, it doesnt make you look like a corpse, instead it goes on clear but with a very subtle blue tinge which apparantly makes your teeth looks whiter. It also has a bit of very fine glitter which combined with the shine makes your lips look great. I would advise less is more, if you squeeze your tube a bit too hard and end up ...
