My concealer recently ran out, and whilst looking online at what would be the best replacement I stumbled across the 'confessions of a Concealaholic' box by Benefit. I spend a fortune on products by Lancome, Clinique, etc, but Benefit has somehow passed me by. I haven't ever felt lulled by the products, so when I read some glowing reviews about this particular product, I decided to take the plunge and buy it.
At £28.50 it isn't the cheapest product around, but it is good value. Although the product size of each item inside is only small, you do get 5 different products within it, and as you only need the tiniest amount it will last a while. Given that most make up products only have a shelf life of 12 months, it's probably more worthwhile buying it this way than spending a fortune on the full sized products.
Previously I had been using the Body Shop concealer, which was a one stop shop for dark under eyes, blemishes, etc, however this particular Benefit product has the beauty of offering different products for different problem areas. I genuinely do not know how I haven't lived with Lemon Aid and Eye Bright in my life!
The kit contains:
That Gal" primer 7.5m
This primer is wonderful (although not the best one I've ever used) and really does make the skin look radiant in an instant. It can be worn several ways including on its own (my skin is far too crap for this!), under or over makeup. I prefer to use mine under my foundation as it allows my foundation to have more lasting power and it is non-clogging on the pores. I find that if I apply it over my foundation it feels quite heavy on my face and masking, but it offers more of a glow on the skin by using this way.
Erase paste (02) 3.2g
Having very pale skin, this colour is far too dark for me and I find this quite frustrating as it does seem exceptionally dark, however I dab the smallest circles under my eyes when I'm really tired and then blend gently and it does make the under eye look better. I find erase paste to be quite thick too, and seems to gather the skin under the eye a little. I'm only 30 so don't really have wrinkles yet, but this somehow seems to have the ability to gather my skin! This product is my least favourite out of the set.
Boi-ing (01, 02) 2 x 1.3g
When I first opened the box and saw the two different shades, I was again disappointed as one seemed far too dark for my pale complexion, however after reading the book that comes with it, I realised that actually the intended purpose is to blend the two colours together to create your own customised shade (which is a fab idea!). It did take me a little while to get the hang of this and now I can easily cover any spots with this 'industrial strength concealer' (in Benefits own words!).
Lemon Aid 0.9g
How I have not come across this product before, I've no idea, but I absolutely adore it! I'm a really light make up user, and prefer the natural look, so it's a rare occasion when I opt for eye shadow, however when tiredness has set in, I hate the puffy redness the lid area of the eye can sometimes have. This is where lemon aid comes in. Working as an eyelid primer, it can be used on its own or under eye shadow to prolong the life of your make up. The creamy soft yellow tint goes on subtly and blends like a dream to provide refreshed eyes and hide any discoloration / reddening of the eye area. Works wonders!!
Eye Bright 0.9g
This pinky cream is another little wonder cream for the eye area intended for the inner and outer corners of the eyes, dabbing the cream gently around this area will instantly brighten and lift the eye area.
With applicator brushes indicating which product it should be used for, everything you need is in this gorgeous little box.
By using all of these products together, will provide you with the best looking skin you've had in ages! I've yet to venture over to the Benefit foundation side yet, as I'm still on with my favourite Smashbox one, however I've no doubt that it will only heighten the appearance of the skin (ladies, let me know what benefit foundation to opt for please!!).
Not the cheapest product out there, but one of the best value make up items I have come across in years.
I brought this product when i brought the smokin eyes from the benefit counter, it is called confessions of a concealaholic and that is what it is, it conceals every blemish on your face its fab!!
The kit contains a face primer which is called 'that gal' and it really brightens up your face and you only have to use a small amount and rub it in your face and instantly you notice a difference, the kit has a product called 'erase paste' and it camouflages lines, blemishes and bags under the eyes but you can use it on the face also, ' lemon aid colour correcting eyelid primer' which brightens up the eye area instantly and this little nifty kit has 'boi-ing industrial strength concealer' which comes in 2 shades and you just put this concealer wherever you want to conceal on the face.
This product also contains a concealer brush and it also has step by step instructions. It is a brilliant kit but it is expensive for such a small kit at £28.50 but everything works really well.
I got this as a gift for my birthday and I must admit it's a very handy kit to have! I really like a lot of the benefit range and was really pleased to receive this. The kit is small and cute- and provides you with everything you need to get flawless, glowing skin no matter what. The primer I especially like and use this every day even if I'm not wearing make-up as it leaves my skin looking healthy and glowing (plus it smells amazing!). The eye brightener really works to take the bad look away from tired eyes. The concealers are very good- and I especially liked that they gave you the two different tones so you can blend to match your own skin tone perfectly. The only negative that I found is that I felt the concealers were very slightly heavy for my skin- however I do not like very heavy make-up at all so that was just my opinion.
In general, I love this kit- it is great if I have had a late night and after using this no one ever has to know as I look healthy and glowing again.
Oh my Godness i LOVE Benefit for bringing out this, it includes my favourite concealer in the world (boi-ng) in two shades, which i mix when i have a tan, eye bright which is fab, lemon aid, which makes my eyes appear wide awake and big, that gal is brilliant for brightening the face (it smell delicious too). Unfortunately the erase paste is a little bit to dark for me as i'm quite fair, but it does have a lovely texture to it.
The brushes that this little set comes with are really good to; they are good quality and labelled with what you should use them for, else i would never know! The mirror is also an added bonus of course, it's very good, big and clearly shows my skin. I would reccommend this to anybody who has heavy nights, sleepless nights, fine lines, or blemishes because this makeup set conceals it all!
Confessions of a concealaholic. When I opened up this gift as a present, I couldn't believe my eyes! I was so excited, because this tine last year I had suffered from very bad acne, and I would use concealer on daily basis. On first impression I thought the overall look of 'the product was great and the box was very sturdy. When you open the magnetic flap, there is a small booklet which tells you what each product is used for and how to apply it. Then there is a plastic covering to keep the products fresh. To be honest, I was afraid to use the eyebright and lemonaid, because the contents looked so nice and new! In the box you are given a mini glass tub of erasepaste, two different shades of boiing concealer (01 and 02), eye bright, lemonaid and that gal and two brushes with two different ends to apply the different products. Firstly, the erase paste is a camouflaging agent for your eyes and face. At first the paste may look orange but if you have a darker complexion, this would blend in well. If you are pale, the erase paste would only work with a darker foundation. The paste is smooth and easy to blend with your finger and is great for covering dark circles. The tube may look small, but a little goes a long way. Also there are two shades of boiing concealer, one pale and the other slightly darker. I actually use a combination of the both in order to get a match with my foundation. I use my fingers to apply, as the brush doesn't give a flawless finish. These concealers give brilliant coverage of spots and red marks that foundation won't cover. I use the eye bright in the morning on my eyelids and it really does brighten the complexion. Eye bright and lemon aid can be used together, under the eyes, just to cover dark circles and to awake your sleepy face. Again, a little goes a long way and these two products are lasting very well in my opinion. That gal is a face brightening primer, and it comes in a cute little tube. To be honest, the 7.5ml hasn't lasted very long and I haven't noticed much of difference after using it! On the inside of a lid is mirrored, but I didn't find it that useful. I think I would rather save my money and just buy the booing concealer!!
Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic set
I like benefit products, I have used a few in the past but I have not tried any of their concealers. I have heard that the benefit concealers are really good and have amazing coverage - so not knowing which one to get, I bought this set which contains two of their concealers and more.
*About the product*
This is a set of two concealers (one of which comes in two shades), a small "that gal" face primer, two small brushes, a "eye bright" and "Lemon Aid samples inside. It also comes with an instruction booklet, a clear protective cover for the set and it comes with a mirror inside.
*What benefit say about the product*
"Embrace your inner concealaholic! Why fight it when you can hide it, conceal it, camouflage it and cover it? This concealing and brightening kit has EVERYTHING you need to live happily ever after!" Benefit Cosmetics UK site
I quite like the packaging for this product, although it does have a downside. It looks really cute and in that respect I think it would make a great gift. It looks like a teen diary in the design, it is orange and pink and it does look like a little book/diary. When I received this in the post I was a bit surprised at how small it actually is, it is approximately 10cm by 11cm (LxH). But despite its small size it is fairly heavy, especially considering that there is not a large amount of product in the set. It comes with a mirror inside which looks really cute and all of the products fit inside the set really well. There is not lock or anything on the kit, it has a magnetic lid so it does not just come open.
The 'instruction booklet or step-by-step guide comes with a "product guide" on the back which has a diagram of all of the products in the kit and it tells you what they are and the shades on the product. Inside it has a page for each product in the set and it describes vaguely how to use it buy describing a situation you would need each product for. To compliment the text there is a small diagram illustrating how you should use the product and I find that the diagrams are a lot easier to follow than the text - which could have been a little more helpful in telling you, for example, the best way to use the product, where you should use it and how best to blend the product.
Behind the instruction booklet there is a clear see through sheet that fits inside the kit. It is supposed to protect the products inside and it says on it "Restore this clear cover to keep your kit fresh" and I think it is a good idea - without kits/palettes I have bought in the past they did not come with one of these and I do find that it protects the products such as the boi-ing concealers, eye bright and lemon aid from bits that fall on to the cover sheet.
*Products inside the kit*
"That Gal" Face Primer
Erase Paste concealer
Boi-ing concealer in shades 01 and 02
Two concealer brushes
*Erase Paste Concealer - Brightening camouflage for eyes*
The Erase Paste comes in a small glass pot which looks quite cute and it is quite small and light so it would be god to just take out of the kit and put into your makeup bag. In all of the kits the erase paste shade is 02 medium which is slightly too dark for my pale skin and inside you get 3.2g or 0.11 us oz of product in the pot.
I love the consistency of this concealer, it is a cream concealer so it has a soft creamy consistency and texture is really nice too. The texture is very smooth, soft and obviously creamy. Due to the really creamy, smooth texture the concealer applies really well and really smoothly. Also due to the creamy texture you only need the tiniest amount of the product, you just need to dab the brush lightly in the product to get more than enough concealer.
-Shade of the product and blending
With this concealer I find that it is too dark for me (although the 01 light shade of this product would probably match my skin tone perfectly) I find that even though it is too dark when it is blended into my skin it is a good match - not a great match but it is not obvious that it is a bit too dark. The shade is medium and it has a orangey/salmon pink colour in the pot but when it is on your skin it is a very orangey colour. Although with this concealer even though it is too orangey it blends well overall, it still has a slight orange look to the skin after blending but it is subtle - so overall when blended well the concealer is a good match for my skin tone.
-Coverage and longevity
The coverage of this product is ok, for me this concealer does not live up to its full coverage claims. I use this product under my eyes (in the booklet it only says about using it under the eyes as well) and I find that it is not enough coverage for my really dark circles. I find that with this product I ca still clearly see my dark circles - they are reduced a bit but I can still see them through the concealer. It does look a tiny tiny bit caky as time passes and it can settle into fine lines - although all I do is pat my finger under my eyes and it blends the concealer and stops it from settling in the fine lines under my eyes.
I have been using this kit for about a week now and overall I am not too impressed with the erase paste concealer. I have watched and read reviews of this product and it seemed to be amazing from the reviews but for me it was not too fantastic. I find that there are really good points about this concealer such as the creamy smooth texture which makes it super easy to blend, it applies really smoothly and evenly and you only need the tiniest amount of product - so it will last a while. Although the downside to this product for me is that it does not cover my dark circles very well and I find that after a while the concealer will look a tiny bit caky under my eyes and it does settle into fine lines (I have very fine lines due to eczema steroid creams).
*Boi-ing concealer - Industrial strength concealer - it comes in shades 01 and 02 in the kit*
The shades are 01 and 02 and both are really good matches for my skin. The shade 01 looks really light in the kit and it is a great shade for pale skins and the 02 shade is a bit darker (a medium beige colour) and it also matches my skin well. The best thing about have two shades in this kit is that you can mix them together, which means that you have a concealer for all year round - as you could use the shade 02 in the summer and 01 in the winter.
-Texture, Application and Blending
The texture of the product is similar to the erase paste, it is a creamy concealer but when compared to the erase paste it is not as creamy. It has a smooth soft consistency and it applies really well. I find that with this product I use it on my blemishes such as spots and redness (it says in the instruction booklet to just use it on blemishes - it does not say about using it under the eyes). It says in the booklet to apply with a brush and then pat with fingertips but I find just apply the product with a brush works really well and I don't need to blend or smooth our the product with my fingers. This concealer blends really well, it has a smooth creamy texture so it applies quickly, easily and evenly.
-Coverage and Longevity
I find that this concealer does have full coverage, it has a lot of coverage and it covers my blemishes such as spots and redness incredibly well. It is really cream and smooth so it blends really well with my skin tone, it has a velvet finish and it covers most of my redness - you can still see some redness but about 90% of the redness and blemishes are gone when I use this concealer. I find that when I use this on my blemishes it lasts all day and it it does not move - unless your rub the area you applied the concealer to, then it will transfer.
Overall, This is the best concealer I have used on my blemishes, I just dab the brush into the product (you again like the erase paste only need a small amount) and then dab it onto your blemishes and they are gone instantly! Well 90% gone but it does work amazingly well and it also covers my pores fantastically as well. A great concealer with two great shades for my pale skin tone.
*Eye Bright - instant eye brightener*
-Shade and Texture
The colour of this product is a lilac, light purple colour and the shade of this product is supposed to make your eyes look brighter and refreshed. The product also has small shimmery particles in it which help reflect light. Like the concealers in the kit this product has a creamy texture - although it is definitely not as creamy as the concealers. The texture is quite creamy when it is on the skin but getting it out of the kit and onto the brush is a bit difficult. It has quite hard and difficult to get out with a brush, unless you dab the brush into the product quite hard. So I just rub my finger in the eye brightener to get the product out.
-Application, results and longevity
The application of this product is ok, it is difficult to get out and onto a brush but it is really nice on the skin. I just apply it with a brush or my finger tip and gently dab it onto the inner corner of my eye and the outer corner and it does in my opinion my skin eyes look a bit brighter and more awake. I do like this product and it makes my eye look a bit brighter but the getting the product out of the set is a bit difficult. I find that this product can look a little bit powdery/caky on my skin if I do not use a eye cream or primer underneath and on its own is can crease slightly.
Overall, it is a good product, it makes my eyes look brighter and makes me look more awake but it is not a product I would buy on its own after using it up in this set. It is difficult to get out of the set and it is not really something I would really feel the need to buy.
*"That Gal" brightening Face primer*
-Shade and consistency/texture
The primer is a really bright neon pink colour and it does not feel right to put something so bright all over my face but it does not stay neon pink on the skin at all. Unlike all of the other products in the set this primer seems to have a scent (the other products just have a slightly plastic scent to them) but this one has a slightly artificial sweet scent to it, in my opinion. The consistency of the product is use thick - it does not run off my hand and the texture is like other primers I have used - it has a smooth silky texture. Although this primer is definitely not as silky/smooth in texture as the ELF (eyes lips and face primer I have).
-Application and Results
The application of this product is quite nice, it has a smooth soft texture so it glides onto my skin quickly and easily - although it is not as silky/smooth as other cheap primers I have tried. It does not make me pull on my skin when I am applying it and it makes my skin feel really smooth and soft. The main purpose of a primer is to help your make up stay on longer and I find that this product does - it keeps my make up in place for longer when compared to if I did not use a primer. This primer is also supposed to brighten the complexion and I find that it does make my skin look a bit brighter and makes my skin look like it is a nice healthy glow (not a greasy or oily sheen though) but it is quite a subtle effect.
Overall, I like this product, I think it is a nice primer. It keeps my make up in place for longer and it applies really quickly, easily and it glides onto my skin well - although other cheaper primers I have used work just as well. It does have a slightly brightening affect on my skin but it is quite subtle.
*Lemon Aid - Colour correcting eye lid primer*
-Shade and texture
This eyelid primer is a yellow primer and it is a light yellow (tweety pie colour) product. It is supposed to neutralize any discolouration on the eyelids, such as redness. It has a creamy texture like all of the products in this kit and it can be applied with a brush or your fingertips - I like to use a brush with this product as it is really smooth and creamy.
-Application, results and longevity
I find that the application for this product is really quick and very easy to apply as it has a creamy smooth creamy texture. It applies really well with a brush and it applies evenly. Like all of the other products in the kit, you only need a small amount of the product. I apply it with a brush and then I just pat the product with my finger and it blends really really well. I really like this product, it does get rid of all of the redness and discolouration on my eyelids (of which there is quite a lot from having eczema on my eyes - which has now gone). It just completely neutralize the discolouration and makes my eyelids even in terms of colour and it is a good base for my eyeshadows. It makes a great base for my eyeshadows as it is creamy it gives them something to adhere to - making them stay put on my eyes. It can be used on its own as a light creamy (off white) eyeshadow - although after a few hours it can crease slightly.
Overall, I really like this product - it gives me a blank canvas for my eyeshadows as it completely neutralizes the discolouration on my eyelids and it is creamy so it gives my eyeshadows something to adhere to so they last longer - although after a good few hours it can crease slightly.
I usually don't like the brushes that come in kits/set like this one but these brushes are amazing! They are small so they fit in the kit and they are great for traveling with. There are two brushes, they have names on each side for what product you should use with them but I find that they all work really well with any of the products. They are firm but flexible - so they don't feel harsh on my skin when I use them. They pick up the products really well (except the eye bright which is quite difficult to get out) and they are really easy to use. They are also a great size and shape, both the larger and smaller brushes are great for concealer and they are a great size for around my nose and small areas.
*Overall opinion of the products*
Erase paste - it was a bit of a disappointing product as it does not have a lot of coverage, in my opinion and it does not cover my dark circles - but it does reduce them and it does look caky sometimes and can settle into fine lines. Although it has a amazing consistency, it is creamy and applies really well and you only need the tiniest amount of product. But overall it is ok, just not enough coverage for me.
Boi-ing concealer - this is by far my favorite product out of the kit. It has amazing coverage - it covers about 90% of my redness instantly and it makes small spots and pores disappear. I would buy this concealer o it own after using it up in this kit. It has a creamy texture and applies quickly and easily and it blends really well. The shades are also fantastic for my pale skin and it does not crease very much at all.
Eye Bright - it is a good product but it is not a necessity and I don't think I would buy it when it runs out. It does make my eyes look brighter and makes me look a bit more awake but it is a subtle effect. It also works well as a light lilac eyeshadow (although not something I would really wear). It is difficult to get out and it it best applied with fingertips.
That Gal primer - I like this primer, it does make my make up last longer and it does make my skin look a bit brighter - but this a subtle. It applies quickly and smoothly and it makes my skin feel soft and smooth after application. Although cheaper primers (such as ELF's mineral infused primer) work just as well.
Lemon Aid - another product, along with the boi-ing concealer that I really like. It completely neutralizes the redness and discolouration on my eyelids and creates a great base for my eyeshadows. It applies really smoothly as it is has a creamy texture but it does crease slightly after a few hours.
Overall, I really like this set and I am glad that I bought it as I did not know which concealer to get and it works out a lot cheaper that buying the product individually. I would recommend this product although some of the products can be improved. My favorite products in the set include the boi-ing concealer, lemon aid and the brushes are amazing!
*Price and availability*
I bought this set from lookfantastic.com and it was £28.50 with free delivery. It can also be bought from boots.co, benefitcosmetics.co.uk ad debenhams for £28.50. I have seen these sets on ebay for a lot cheaper but there are fakes on ebay and I would not recommend buy this set from ebay as it may be fake.
Thank you for reading my review - this review is also posted on ciao under my user name labellavita1992 - check it out for pictures of the products, packaging and instruction booklet x
Benefits - but at a price
I have very limited experience of Benefit products but I have heard lots of good things about them and have friends that swear by the range. But to be honest, I am always a bit put off by the price. But recently when I was looking to buy a primer for my face, one of the products I was considering was Benefit's That Gal primer, as I had decided after reading a lot about it that this was a product worth spending a little more on. But as I did some research online looking for a good price, I came across this little set, which contained a small tube of That Gal as well as several other products. I thought this would be a great chance to try out a few different Benefit products so I splashed out. This retails at full price for £28.50 but it is possible to buy it cheaper online so do have a look around.
The kit contains:
That Gal primer - a face brightening primer (comes in a small 7.5ml tube)
Lemon Aid - a colour-correcting eyelid primer
Eye Bright - instant eye brightener
Erase Paste - brightening camouflage for eyes and face (comes in a small pot in shade no.2)
Boiiing - concealer in shades 1 and 2
Two small, double-ended brushes
Pretty as a picture
As you would expect from Benefit, the packaging of this product is really lovely. The box has a cardboard wrap-around (with the same illustration on the front of the box) and when you slip this off, inside is quite a chunky box which is designed to look a little like a diary, with a graphic of a padlock on the front to complete the look. It's feminine, pretty packaging that does look expensive and very special.
Open the box and inside the lid is a small mirror, and in the main section of the box you will find all your little products. There is also a mini booklet telling you what to do with all your new goodies, and a little plastic sheet to keep your products undercover, to stop the exposed products from drying out.
I couldn't wait to try these different items out, and the first time I did I got a bit carried away and put a few things in the wrong places! So the next time I was less cack-handed and did things properly.
The primer is an orangey-pink colour and I was surprised to find it was quite a thin consistency - almost watery - and applying it to my face didn't really do anything for me. The erase paste on the other hand is very thick indeed and I found that applying it with a brush didn't allow me to blend it, so I had to use my fingertips to blend this in properly. I noticed later that the cream had gathered slightly in the tiny lines under my eyes, so it needed another dab with my fingertips. However, the cream did seem to help cover the shadows under my eyes so it wasn't all bad and, as it is so thick, a little does go a very long way!
I found the four other products quite tricky to apply, and I tried using both the brush and my fingertips but it is difficult to get a significant amount up and I do worry that with time these will dry up further making them harder to use. But I have tried them all and, again, was distinctly underwhelmed. The pale pink eye bright didn't seem to make much difference to the appearance of my eyes, and the concealers - although they did work - were no greater than any other much cheaper products I've tried.
Half and half
I was really disappointed with this product overall but I decided to do the ultimate test and try the products out on half my face so I could make more of an honest comparison! I used a little of each product to make a very honest judgement, and then applied my make-up as normal. I looked at my face in the mirror straight away and could see no real difference at all. I also checked again a few hours later and - honestly - the products had done nothing for me. My foundation and eye make-up had not stayed on any better (so that's a fail for the Lemon Aid too), and the "benefited" side of my face was honestly no different to the normal half!
Overall I am totally disappointed and underwhelmed with the products in this set, especially as I've heard so many good things about Benefit products. The only one I feel really works is the Erase Paste but, as it is so thick, it tends to crease slightly under my eyes which is such a shame as it does cover my dark circles. The product I was most keen to try - the That Gal primer - has no visible effect on my skin, although it's pleasant enough to use.
After reading so many good reviews of Benefit products - including this set - I really wonder what I'm missing! For the price of these products I would expect a whole lot more, but as it is, although i'l probably use the products now and then just to get my money's worth, I think my flirtation with Benefit may, sadly, be over already.
I think I have probably tried almost every different concealer I can get my hands on and many of them just don't live up to the job. When I saw this "Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic" kit on Amazon for £11.99 (I think they are still around this price) I just had to buy it! I'm already a big fan of some of the Benefit products but I begrudge paying a large amount of money for something that might not work! It is definitely worth shopping around for this as I saw it in Debenhams not long afterwards for £28.50! Way more than I paid.
First impressions are of that it is a very cute compact little kit. As with all Benefit products the packaging is very girly, whimsical and almost fairytale like. It comes in a peachy coloured box and upon opening it has a really cute little mirror on the left (but not too small!) and the products are placed on the right. It opens and closes from an unseen magnetic strip. It's a great size that I can throw in my handbag and use throughout the day.
It is a 9 piece kit and all pieces feature in their permanent line so if you love something you will be able to purchase it again. I hate the kits companies bring out with limited edition items as I usually fall in love and then can never get them again. It comes with generous sized mini versions of concealers, brightners and brushes as well as a primer and a how to booklet which I think is a great touch. Here is a more detailed list of the products of which are included and my views on them:
That Gal Primer- It is a pinky colour and gives off a subtle glow. I apply it like a moisturiser underneath my foundation and it is very easy to apply. You can also use on top of your makeup throughout the day, I usually apply on my cheekbones and above my eyebrow arch to give me a bit of a glow and a more awake look. I would definitely buy this as a full sized product as it helps even out my skin tone like nothing else I've tried and gives a lovely glow that foundation alone just can't achieve.
Erase Paste in No.2 Medium - This is a light peachy pink concealer which is used to cover and brighten under the eyes. I've found that if my under eye circles are really bad it sometimes doesn't cover them 100%. You use like a regular concealer and dot underneath the eyes. I'm not sure I would buy this one again, maybe if I could find it cheaper than it retails for I may consider it.
Boi-ing Concealer in No.1 and No.2 - 01 is a pinky beige colour and 02 is a darker peach pink colour. These are very creamy and do need a good bit of blending power but this isn't really an issue as it covers and conceals so well. These are definitely in my opinion better for the dark circles and covering redness. It doesn't crease and I would buy this in full size again.
Lemon Aid - This one looks at a glance a quite scary yellow colour but it is amazing! It brightens and primes your eyelids and used alone it makes you look 10 times more awake. You only need a very small amount to cover the entire lid and I usually work it right up to the brow bone too. It takes away any redness and makes eyeshadows last a lot longer, even ones that have cost me just £1. A definite re-buy.
Eye Bright - One that I already own but any extra is a bonus in my eyes! It is a pale pink brightening pencil that I apply near my tear ducts and sometimes in my lower water line and it makes your eyes look more awake and refreshed. I usually apply after eyeliner but before mascara. Keep an eye out on eBay as I have found this for as little as £3!
The kit also comes with 4 little applicator brushes which are a good quality which is unusual for kits. It is great if you want to test items rather than buy full sized and then if you love it you can buy again and again! My only one major downside to this is it does only come in one colour way so it wouldn't be suitable for some skin tones such as the concealers which with a tan I think would be too light for me! All in all a great way to test out different products.
*This review will contain bits and pieces from other review I have posted over the last few weeks so if little snipets look familiar thats probably why!!*
Well with all the Benefit reviews Ive been writing lately you all should have known this review was coming shortly and this one will be about the set as a whole that I have been reviewing products from. I bought this 'Confessions Of A Concealaholic' a few months ago as I wanted to tyr out some Benefit products but I didnt want to spend tonnes of cash buying them all individually. I thought the best way to test them out was to buy one of these sets that are pretty cheap and see if any of hte products were worth buying full size. Now I cant speak for all of the Benefit sets but this one has been amazing and Im so glad I got to try out most of the products in here - of course theres always one your not so keen on LOL - it wouldnt be a fair review otherwise!
Price: Around £30 on Boots website - I got this for just over £10 on amazon though so Id definitely recommend shopping around.
Stockists: Boots, Amazon, the Benefit website, Debenhams etc ...
Other Info: This set includes: That Gal Primer, Erase Paste Concealer, Boi-ing Concealer, Lemon-Aid Correcting Eyelid Primer, Eye-Bright, 4 brushes for the erase paste, boi-ing, lemon aid & eye bright, a manual describing each product and how to use it & a list of ingredients for each product. So you are getting quite a bit for your money.

The packaging for this set is super cute - it reminds me of something you'd see in a fairy tale as its a very girly/cute design. On outside of the box is a cardboard sleeve that has the brand name on the front with a picture of a lock and key - a cute added touch I think and then on the back is all the information: what products are contained in the set, the ingredients contained in each product and what each product does for your skin. I like the fact that it has that sleeve as I think the box would fly open a lot without it.The box inside is in the same peach/beige colour and the front has the exact same design at the front sleeve and can be opened and closed with a magnetic strip that is on the inside of the box and not visible - if it was it would ruin the design I think.
On the inside is another nice touch as it has a small mirror with the words 'This Diary Belongs To:' over the top so when you look in thats who it belongs to - thats a lovely added feature I think and although I dont use this mirror while Im out and about it makes the design much nicer in my opinion. The inside is clearly sectioned out for each product: the primer goes at the top, below that the erase paste, the in the middle is the 2 shades of boi-ing, below that the lemon-aid & eye bright & then right at the end there is a long space for the 2 double sided brushes that you use to apply the various products. Its all sectioned out clearly sow even when you take the products out you can easily see where they belong when you come to putting them back so its all very organised - just how I like my make-up personally.
The set is a lot smaller than I imagined but now Ive had it for a while I think I actually prefer that its a smaller size. It means it is easier to carry around and use whilst your out and about - size isnt everything in this case ladies! Oh there is also a plastic cover for the make-up to make sure it stays fresh and doesnt smudge all over the cardboard on the edges and the manual on how to apply each product sits on top of that. Gorgeous packaging that is practical as well - so everything you need really.

So now I'll add a little section about each product - dont worry Im not going post the whole reviews on here as they can be seen anyway - just the bits I think are most important:
'That Gal Primer' - To use and apply this is very simple as you would apply it how you would a face lotion. You simply squeeze a small amount onto the back of your hand and then begin to rub into your face - all over - the an upward motion. This is very easy to apply and it can work in so many different ways - before make-up - to act as a base coat and primer, on certain areas to help reflect light & it can even be applied OVER your make-up during the day to help brighten up your complexion all day long. I like to use it all those ways to be honest but its nice to have a choice of how to apply this, depending on what other make-up your wearing alongside this.
I apply this now every morning without fail because it honestly does wonders for my skin. It looks healthier, more glowing and this helps even out my skintone loads which is everything I want from a primer. This also ensures that my make-up stays put all day long - the concealer, foundation & powder and after an 8hr shift my make-up is still pretty much perfect and I think it is definitely down to this primer. I love this and will 110% be buying it again.
- - - - - - - - - -
'Erase Paste' - To apply this is very simple and you only need a really small amount to get perfect results which makes the price a little more justified I think. A few small dots of this underneath each eye is more than enough for me to cover all the dark circles and then you simply blend it into your skin. As soon as I blend this around my eyes I look instantly more awake and the area around my eyes definitely looks brighter and healthier. Best of all this removes all trace of dark circles around my eyes - I apply this and all the circles vanish completely and that isnt an exaggeration at all the skin around my eyes just looks perfect. I dont look tired or stressed at all - on the outside anyway which I guess is the main thing.
I can say without a shadow of a doubt I will be going to buy a tub of this when my little one runs out! I love this and I get fantastic results from it so I will be going back for more.
- - - - - - - - - -
'Boi-Ing' - To apply this I simply get a dab of the 1 shade on my brush and dab it onto the spot or dark circle and then dab a dot of the 2 shade on there as well - I personally get the best results if I blend the two shades as that colour matches my skintone the best - and then you simply rub it in with your fingers. When I apply this to my skin it is very creamy and easy to blend but I do feel that it is quite heavy. My skin doesnt feel too clogged or anything like that but the areas that I do apply it too do feel slightly heavier than the rest of my face - its not a light concealer in the slightest - big disadvantage in my opinion.
I have to say I dont think the coverage is any better than most other concealers Ive tried - cheaper ones than this offer the same effects in my opinion although the dont last as long so there is good and bad points about this one. A good thing is that it does last all day which is brilliant for me as I dont get the chance to re-apply make-up while Im at work so I know if I apply this before I go the spot will still be covered by the time I leave and it doesnt smudge or leave patches at all - if this cost about £5 Id be buying it all the time but I dont think the price is justified in this case.
- - - - - - - - - -
'Lemon-Aid' - This is so thick and creamy you only need such a tiny amount each time you apply this - a light covering of this primer all over your eyelid - and up to the browbone if you want it that high is more than enough to apply before you start to blend it. This blends so well I sometimes wear this without any other make-up as this does a really brilliant job of covering all by itself - if your having a natural day this is one product you really cant be without as it does the job in a few seconds. And as you only use such a small amount one small compact will last a really long time.
This covers up those annoying little veins on my eyelids straight away and takes away an redness I may have on my eyes - especially when Im tired after a long day at work or before work. The effects of this are just as brilliant whether your wearing this alone or alongside foundation and other make-up, the coverage of this alone is enough for me to feel covered up - and it lasts all day long covering and acting as a primer so for me it does everything I wanted and more.
- - - - - - - - - -
'Eye Bright' - So to apply this I simply get a small amount onto the brush provided and put a few dabs of the pink cream onto the inside and outside corners of my eyes - concentrating on the inside as thats where I need the most coverage as the dark circles there never seem to be covered up enough for my liking. It might be worth mentioning that you apply this AFTER any other make-up NOT before!
This genuinely makes my eyes look more awake and refreshed - even if Ive had a bad nights sleep or a really early morning. This even helps cover up the dark circles in the very corner of my eye which never normally go away no matter how many products I apply to the area so that a massive thumbs up from me.

Advantages [ Of the set as a whole]:
* The products can all be used together or alone.
* Gives your whole face coverage without you looking like your caked in make-up.
* I like that there is 2 shades of Boi-ing to blend together for the perfect shade.
*Packaging - design, size and ease of storage & transport.
* Get to try out many Benefit products without spending loads of cash.
* Many of the products in this set have ow become everyday products for me that I will continue to buy for as long as possible.
Disadvantages [Of the set as a whole]:
* Some of the products are quite 'orangey' which doesnt bother me but this set wont be suitable for people with very light skin - you can pick and chose the shades. You get what your given in this case.
* The inside of the set gets dirty very quickly - or maybe thats just me as Im not the cleanest person when it comes to applying make-up. And it is easy to clean.

Which products would I buy again [seperately from the set] :
* Eye Bright
* Lemon Aid
* That Gal
(So basically all of them bar one!!)

I woudlnt hesitate to recommend this to everyone especially if you want to try out some Benefit products without spending a lot of money - you never know you might find you love a lot of them like I do. I dont recommend buying this set if you have very pale skin as the products in this set will be far too dark and will leave you looking patchy but for everyone else I think this will be a winner. I dont think Id pay £30 for it but you can get some really good deals on this and it is worth the money - lots of products for a bargain price!!
Thanks For Reading.

The first thing that put me off using Benefit make up products was the price. Compared to high street brands it can seem quite expensive for a similar product. However, after sampling a few bits in a department store I fell in love with this set. I bought it for £28 but I'm told it can be cheaper on the internet.
The woman at the Benefit counter was very helpful and picked the concealer shade that was right for my skin. The results after the first use were amazing. I have quite bad bags under my eyes, even when I am not tired, so when I haven't slept well my eyes look sunken. These products almost completely covered my dark circles. I even convinced myself I wasn't tired anymore!
The packaging is so beautiful to the point where I don't think I'll be able to throw it away when I am finished with it. It could make a nice box to hold other bits and bobs though. Even the names of the make up are fantastic. 'Confession of a Concealaholic' made me want to buy it before I had even opened it.
I now use it most days for work and look much more refreshed and add a bit more when going out at night. I have still not gotten to the bottom of the pots/tube but when it does run out I will have to really consider spending that much again.
Benefit have recently become a firm favourite brand of mine and I am in the process of converting my entire make up kit to be Benefit. I was unaware of the brand up until about a year ago I came across them in my local department store and I was instantly attracted to their vibrant stand, as well as their pleasant consultants that were ready and waiting to lend a hand. I have more recently discovered that they do some incredible products that always seem more like ways to correct your natural face, as appose to make up itself.
Although with a hefty price tag of £28, this product caught my eye. I often forget essential products for my make up bag when I'm in a rush in the mornings and end up with a half made up face - not a great look. This provides all the necessary products, but all in one place. The only issue I have with the product as a whole is that all the products inside do a similar job, however they all do it well. Firstly, you have 'that gal' which is a face primer that should be applied underneath your foundation to give you a glowing look. I can't say I noticed dramatic results from this product but this may be because I wear quite a heavy coverage foundation which probably masked it. Next there is Boi-ing which is where the products start to become similar for me. This is a concealer and although it is good and covers up blemishes and imperfections well, it is somewhat similar to Erase Paste which is also included as a concealer. Eye Bright is a pencil that supposedly brightens up the eyes, however I have quite a tanned complexion so I can't say I noticed a dramatic difference when using this product, but I know other people who have used it too and are addicted! Finally there is Lemon Aid which I must admit is my favourite. I often find that before applying make up, I have visible veins above my eyes which can be difficult to cover with foundation. Because of the noticable veins it gives an overall appearance of being quite red and sore. They aren't sore, but it doesn't look great. A small amount of this product is enough to correct my red eyelids and gives them a slightly yellow tint almost, but they are now a much more similar colour to the rest of my skin. This is the first product I have come across that actually works on my eye lids.
Overall this product is very ideal and comes in a pretty case with a mirror to apply your make up while you're on the go, but I think for the price I wouldn't by it again. I would prefer to spend a little more on the products that I prefer such as Lemon Aid. For those who travel a lot or don't have much spare time this will definitely be a great product for you because of the convenience factor!
This product is a fab buy for anyone new to benefit make up. As their individual items are quite pricey, this kit is perfect as you get to give 5 products a go! This kit includes that gal (face primer), lemon aid (eye colour corrector), eye bright, boi-ing (concealer) and erase paste. All items can be used under or over make up nd create a perfect complection. Theat gal is gorgeous and gives an even finish which is perfect for your foundation to go over, boi-ing is 'industrial strength' and covers all blemishess and redness. Although it is very thick, unlike many concealers it doesn't go 'crusty'. I apply 'eye bright' to the inner corner of my eyes and it really gives a fresh look, very celeb! In my opinion the lemon aid is the worst of the 5, but if you suffer from redness of the eye area it may be worth a try. It is a cream and best applied with a concealer brush, it is a little thick and keeps a slight yellow tinge when applied. Erase paste also good but seems a little un-necessary if, like me, you love the boi-ing! A great buy and good value compared to buying the items individually, definitely worth a try!
I use a lot of Benefit make up; not only is the packaging absolutely beautiful but the make up is always great quality and not as expensive as some other brands. I received this as a gift from my sister, as I'd been complaining about a recent outbreak of bad skin. It cheered me up no end :)
The box contains several small versions of popular Benefit products, and as is the nature of such things, I really love some of the products but am less keen on others. The "That Gal" primer is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I put it on underneath my normal foundation and it gives a really beautiful shimmery glow. It's subtle but makes a really big difference to my skin, which has the tendency to be very pale and dull.
The Erase Paste is for use under eyes, and is supposed to hide dark bags and lines underneath and around the eyes. As I'm fairly young, this isn't really a product I desperately need, though when I'm tired it definitely does its job.
The Boi-ing concealer didn't work for me. I loved the texture of it but I'm just so pale that it wasn't very effective in covering my spots, as althogh the redness disappeared it stood out on my pale skin. I actually read a review where somebody said the concealers were too light for them so if you have a light to medium skin tone i would definitely recommend them. The fact that I rarely use them is less to do with the product itself and more to do with my own deathly pale complexion...!
The Lemon Aid is for brightening/priming eyelids, and actually worked pretty well on my pale skin. I applied my eyeshadow after I used this product and I think it stayed in place longer than normal.
Eye Bright is a pink pencil used to brighten your eyes (obviously!). Again, it didn't really work with my skin tone, though my sister absolutely adores it.
Overrall this is a great kit. Although I wouldn't use every single part of it again, I will definitely be buying the full sized version of some of the products in the kit.
I love benefit make up its really good.I brought the benefit concealer kit and i found it was really good it hasn't let me down at all i am very happy with this product i would buy this product again no problem.I would recommend this to anyone this concealer is nice and creamy not to Matty just right stays on for ever doesn't fade at all.Its good for all types of skin even i would say oily skin which i have. And i always have problem finding the right concealer because of my oily skin and now i have found it wow.
i love the pencils too they do give a very good fine line very easy to use. its in a really nice presentable box which makes people buy the product because the way the box is designed. And not the concealer is brilliant their other products are just has good wont let you down when you buy.I do sometimes find benefit makeup expensive but its worth the money.
I bought this because I love Benefit cosmetics and wanted to try a new product and couldn't single out one specific product from their range as there were many Benefit concealers that I wanted to buy so I decided to to go for something which had them all in!
Overall this product is quite a bit naff. It has 6 of their concealer products in - Boi-ing (2 shades); lemon aid; eye bright; erase paste and that gal, so basically everything a girl could possibly need.
I will look at each product individually.
Boi-ing Concealer: This product has had some good reviews and I have to say I'm a little surprised. Although it does cover spots etc, I found the product to be thick and it was like caking on a second (and 3rd and 4th) layer of skin. It doesn't last all day which is disappointing considering its price. Neither of the shades were right for me as I have very pale skin which meant that after my first try I was unable to use this product. I did try mixing the shades but that didn't work at all.
That Gal: I found this to be a completely pointless product, it made the whole process of putting on make up longer and it would seem the extra effort was not worth it as I struggled to notice any difference after use. It did not follow through with what it promises as a product.
Lemon Aid- absolutely love this product. Fantastic for covering under eye bags and also good on eye lids. I tried this product as a concealer for spots also and found it worked a treat at dulling down any redness, so ended up using this all over my face (where needed) as it really is fantastic!!! It also helped my eye shadow go on smoother and look less liney which was fab!
Eye Bright: I really didn't like this product and struggled to understand how to use it or what it actually did so overall would not recommend this!
Erase paste: This product was a bit like Boin-ing in that it was thick and felt like caking the make up on. However it worked an absolute treat on eye bags and dark circles which was amazing! Unlike Lemon Aid I was unable to use this on the rest of my face as it was a bit too pink and a bit too dark
I think overall this product is a bit rubbish, you are paying full price for miniture versions of the products. The packing is pretty enough but quite bulky to carry around in your handbag with the rest of your make up. The product also contains brushes but I found this aspect to be useless as I already have these brushes in my make up kit. If this product had an alternative shade for paler skins it would be much better. If you have pale skin (like me) you are better off just sticking with Lemon Aid.
Overall i think you would be better finding an individual full size concealer from benefit to match your skin tone.
