Advantages: Looks good, lasts a long time, it's Benefit
Disadvantages: More expensive
Welcome to the next installment of my series of Benefit cosmetics reviews. This review is about their 'creaseless cream shadows', of which I have one that I use daily. The shade which I have is called 'Birthday Suit', and is a sparkly bronzey colour.
*Use*
This eyeshadow is one of the best that I have found in terms of application, as it is very simple to apply. Personally I just open the pot and rub my finger in it, and then pull my eyelid tight with the other hand and wipe the eye shadow over my eyelid in a couple of swooping movements. This seems to be enough to give my eyelid smooth coverage, and looks noticable but not too heavy.
*How I look with it on*
When I decided I wanted a new eye shadow, I was careful to choose one that I knew would match my eye colour, which are a dark brown. I also have pale skin and reddish hair, so it's often hard to find makeup shades that suit me, and also as I'm not very brave when it comes to makeup, I didn't want one that was too bright. I was therefore delighted when i found the 'birthday suit' colour, as it was not too strong or ostentatious, but has a gentle glitteriness to it which makes it shine. I've found that it accentuates my eye colour and makes them look a deeper brown, which I like. It also nicely complements my gold eyeliner (previously reviewed) and the darkness of my mascara (also reviewed :P).
*Appearance of the product*
All of the eyeshadows in the range are presented in the same way. The all come in a little black box with white birds on it, as well as a picture of a doll's head wearing a scarf and sunglasses, which is seen on some other Benefit products. The pot inside is small and see through, through which you can clearly see the colour of the shadow. The lid is similar to the box - black with white birds on it. Like other Benefit products, it looks very attractive, and makes it worth the fact that it costs a little more than other brands.
*Price and availability*
As I've mentioned in earlier reviews (if you've read them) this can be found in Benefit stands in larger Boots stores and some Department stores, and there's also a few boutiques apparently, but I think that's only in London as there certainly aren't any up here. You can also buy it online from a variety of stores - just search for it on kelkoo. They cost £13.00 each for 4.5g.
*Conclusion*
This is a gorgeous eyeshadow, and like many benefit cosmetics I feel that it is worth the expensive price because it is of a superior quality and it lasts a long time: I've had mine for months and it's nowhere near empty. I would strongly recommend it, as even if my shade wouldn't suit you, there are 11 others to choose from.
Summary: Beautiful creme eyeshadow from Benefit available in 12 shades.

- 25/04/08 does it crease at all? I use quite a few Benefit things but not tried this, as I find that most eye creams crease and/or smudge |
