Advantages: Great looking skin, Banishes those lines
Disadvantages: Pricey
While I was wandering through Boots last month I was accosted by the Benefit lady and I 'allowed' her to try out some products on me (not that I need any convincing to buy their products but I'm never going to say no to a free make-over!) The product that impressed me the most that day was Dr. Feelgood (apparently Benefit's best-seller), a complexion balm which smooths out lines and imperfections in your skin. It is packaged in a small silver tin with a kitsch design (an ugly, frizzy haired woman who appears to be having her face eaten by a sleazy looking bloke- nice!) on the lid (which can be hard to open if you're as clumsy as me!) and inside there is an application sponge and the balm itself, which is a colourless wax. When I saw the wax I was concerned that it would feel greasy on my skin but I needen't have worried. It feels so light on your skin that you can hardly feel it and when you touch it, it just feels silky smooth! The smell is really gorgeous, fresh, subtle and lemony, hardly surprising as it contains Vitamin C to condition the skin. I love the smell so much that whenever I have a hangover (which isn't very often, really!) I put this on to zap me out of my zombie-like state! Applied lightly, it is just refreshing enough without being overpowering (though apply too much and run the risk of smelling a bit 'granny-like'!) The balm can be worn underneath make-up (to smooth out the skin), over make-up (to ensure that your foundation stays put) or simply on its own on those days when you just want a really light base and can't be bothered with foundation. As a poor student who is lucky enough to have fairly good skin, I wouldn't have thought that a complexion balm would be an essential item of my make-up kit (especially at £19 a shot!). However, this is one of the products that I use the most and I really think that good make-up should always start with perfect skin and this bal
m ensures that you will look absolutely flawless (as the song goes!). My Mum loves this product to do away with her lines (not that she has many!) and I find her 'borrowing' it all the time! Because it acts as a kind of 'filler', it seems to make lines disappear (of course, it doesn't claim to work miracles, but it's the most impressive product I've used!) It is the perfect product to take away the effects of those nights of partying and make you look a good few years younger (of course, if I start looking much younger I'll start getting ID'd everywhere I go, as opposed to half the places!) Apparently this is Benefit's best selling product and it's easy to see why. It does exactly what it claims to do and is such a luxurious product that it really makes you feel like a princess!
