Advantages: works!

Disadvantages: expensive, probably non essential

As a well-versed afficianado of Benefit cosmetics, Eye Bright has always been on my wishlist but not one that I had gotten around to getting. Therefore when it was given away with last month's Glamour I decided to jump at getting it. It typically costs £14 and is available online or from larger chemists and department stores

Essentially it is a chunky pink pencil. Its function is to be placed in the corner of the eyes to remove any darkness and as the title suggests - brighten the eye area.

It is really easy to handle and apply. Typically I apply it after I have applied all my other eye make-up so that I can blend it in easier with my existing makeup, particularly any eyeshadow that I have used. It has a sort of pink pearlescent quality but is easy to apply. Typically I apply it at the inner corner of my eye - where there is a bit of a recess in the nose which I where I have some dark pigmentation. I also put a dab on the outer corner of my eye. The pencil blends easily and gives subtle light-reflective coverage rather than anything overly noticeable.

In my opinion, the change it makes on application is definitely noticeable but can be worn during the daytime because it is not overpowering. The texture is smooth and non chalky and does not leave a powdery residue like concealers that I have used for the purpose previously.

A little does go a long way so i can imagine it lasting a long time.

As much as I am impressed with this product (in that it works!), I would be lying to say that it is an essential part of my make-up kit and unless you do suffer from darkness around the eyes then you definitely won't need it, or you can just use your run of the mill light reflecting concealer. In essence it is just one of those products in the Benefit repertoire that enhances rather than does anything dramatic like 'Highbrow' which is something that I like about the brand, especially as in my opinion, this is one of their products which really works.

Summary: Another good product from Benefit
