Advantages: Looks lovely, smells great, does its job well

Disadvantages: Expensive

I am a long timer user of Benefit products, and I am usually loyal to the same products from Benefit, but I recently was bought a tube of their new product, Girl Meets Pearl.

This is a cream highlighter and complexion illuminator. It can be worn over make up, or alone. I also found it to be a great product to use as a skin primer before putting on foundation. I usually use That Gal primer, but when I have run out, this is a good substitute.

Girl Meets Pearl comes in the same size tube as That Gal, and it has a twist and click release system. You twist the bottom of the tube, which clicks, and the product is released from the top in small amount. I find two clicks gives me plenty of the product. The tube is a dark blue in colour, and has a night skyline printed on it, which I think looks quite nice and it fits in well with the other benefit products I own.

The actual product itself is a light, shimmering golden-pink colour, which does have the sheen of pearl. It feels very silky and soft, but has a slight thickness to the texture. It has a lovely scent to it as well, but I do prefer the smell of That Gal, personally.

When I use this product on top of my make up, it adds a wonderful glow to my skin, and only a small amount of the product is needed too. It smooths onto the skin easily, and it melts onto your skin easily. I have used it a few times without make up, and it makes my skin look healthy and glowing, but leaves it looking natural and smooth all day. It feels light enough not to clogg my skin up and cause spots, but it is heavy and thick enough to make my skin look amazing and the look lasts too. It lasts me all day, and I do not have to reapply, which makes it so much easier to have good looking skin all day.

When I run out of That Gal primer, I will use Girl Meets Pearl in its place. This works almost just as well as That Gal, and it provides a good base for my foundation to glide on to, and it helps my foundation to stay in place all day without becoming patchy or dry or flaky.

Girl Meets Pearl is made with Chamomile Tea, Raspberry, Sweet Almond Oil and Sesame Seed Oil. These give the product a beautiful scent, which is fresh and gentle, and they also provide a great way to sooth and moisturise your skin whilst you look great.

Girl Meets Pearl comes in a 12ml (0.4 US fl oz) tube, and costs £24.50. You can buy it from Benefit Counters in stores like Debenhams or House of Fraser. You can also buy it at Benefit Boutiques and on www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk. This is an expensive item, and if used every day, this will last you about 2 months, so it is not too bad for the price. You may be able to find it cheaper online, but a lot of fake Benefit items seem to be in circulation at the moment so beware of where you buy them from, as you may end up with something that is not real!

I love this item, and I love the glow it gives my skin when I use it. I have sensitive skin, and this causes me no problems so I feel it would be suitable for most people to use. I give this product a 4 out 5 stars, as the price is quite high, but otherwise it is perfect.

Summary: A great product but it is expensive
