This a good quality product, but quite a lot to spend on a lipgloss.
One of my favourite things about this product is that it does not have a strong fruity scent/flavour like a lot of lip products. It smells vaguely make-uppy and tastes of nothing.
Despite the fact that this product is not designed or sold as a moisturising lipgloss, I find that my lips actually feel pretty good and soft after I have been using it for a couple of days. This is probably due it being a product from a more expensive brand than I am used to!
The lipgloss does not last for hours and hours, but I think that is just the nature of lipgloss, even the ones that are advertised as long lasting don''t really last that long, in my experience.
The lipgloss does look really good. The first time I got it, it was a free sample with a magazine, but I actually bought one after that, which says a lot about the quality of the product as I do not normally spend that much on a lipgloss. It has a nice sheen and is available in different colours, many are fairly neutral, so I think it is a product that could suit a lot of skin tones.
Overall, I have given it 4 out of 5 as it is an excellent product, but the price is just a bit steep for a simple lip gloss in my opinion.
I got this product free with a Women's magazine.
The product is okay for those who just want a quick gloss, but not ideal for those who want a long lasting lipgloss.
It has very little staying power and doesn't taste or smell that nice.
It does have a nice sheen to it when on, but this soon goes as it doesn't really have any longevity.
This is the first and only Benefit product I've tried and I've been assured that not all of the Benefit products are like this so I will have to try some more to review what I think of the brand.
The packaging, however, is very pleasing to the eye and I guess in some respects it feels like they spent more money on the packaging than the actual product.
Overall, this is a good gloss for those who just want a quick sheen, but really not good for a night out or for those who want something a little longer lasting.
Benefit offer a wide range of beauty and costmetic products at prices that I would say were high range. This particular lip gloss costs around the £10 mark which is a little steep for a bit of a glaze on the lips. However I find this lip gloss to be very extremely useful and without a doubt- my favourite lip product!
I'm not much of a lip stick girl, I find it really hard to get a shade that I like and that blends in well with my hair and skin tone. I also find when lipstick smudges it can leave you looking more clown-like than sophisticated, with lip gloss however there is not so much of a worry. I also prefer lip gloss as it's shinier and I think it makes lips look healthy and vibrant. 'Her Glossiness' definitely delivers in both f those areas. IT offers a lot of shine as it is think in consistency and has what I like to call the 'staying power' in that once you've applied it, you won't need to do so again for a while. Unlike much cheaper ones that can tend to rub off after 5 minutes.
I bought a very transparent but pink and sparkly shade 'LG22'. I find that it is not too obvious nor does it look like my lips are bare- it is somewhere in the middle which means that I can wear it during the day time as well as for a killer look at night. The tube is 3.0g Net wt but my gloss has lasted me for ages and now that it's finally coming to an end I am really upset! I would say I've had this particular gloss for a bout a year and though I don't wear it everyday as it is thick it has lasted longer as you don't need to apply as often.
The wand is easy to use, you unscrew the black lid and the wand is a long white stick with a small textured tip. I much prefer this design to ones that you have to squeeze in order to apply as I find that messy and sticky.
The lip gloss also comes in a range of colours, I purchased a transparent one but there are darker pinks, some brown and red colours too as well as some chades of pink.
This lip gloss can be purchased from department stores such as Debenhams found at the Benefit beauty counter for roughly £10 to £12. It can be purchased from very.co.uk for £12 and certain colours can be purchased from www.cheapsmells.com for £7.90. This is a fairer price but is still asking a lot for a stick of gloss.
If the product was cheaper by a few quid I would whole heartedly recommend it. It's a good gloss that's easy to use and adds a bit of dazzle to the lips. But the price leaves me rating it at 4/5 stars.
Benefit are a big-name manufacturer of affordable high-end cosmetics. They have a range of innovative make-up products designed to highlight and accentuate different aspects of your facial structure. Her Glossiness is a lip gloss available in a range of different shades. This is available from www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk for the price of £13.
Benfit say: "This irresistibly shiny lip gloss glides on smooth, not sticky, for A-list lips that will give 'em something to gossip about!"
I have this lip gloss in the shade named 'my people, your people' which is a candy coloured baby pink. It comes in a 3g tube with a screw lid containing a long sponge-tipped applicator. Recommended directions for use: Apply generously to lips...anytime, anywhere! Can be used over or under lipstick.
The gloss feels quite thick when you first put it on, but it spreads easily and you don't need a lot to give a good coverage. The shade is very pale and doesn't show up too much over the natural colour of my lips. The first thing I noticed is that although it smoothes on easily, the gloss left me with a sticky feeling on my lips and when pressed together it feels like a very gungy, gloopy mess.
The gloss has a sweet scent to it, sort of fruity like a summery cocktail. This is nice and can be smelt while you're wearing it. I quite like this as it's not too overpowering, but you can still smell it for a while after applying because obviously your lips are right underneath your nose!
To begin with this gives a lovely glossy look, and it contains glitter for a bit of extra sparkle. This gives a nice shimmery look that is quite subtle but very attractive. To keep the finish looking pristine I needed to re-apply several times and without using a lip balm underneath this really dried my lips out. I suffer with dry skin on my lips anyway and this causes my lips to become flaky by lunchtime if I've applied it in the morning. Not practical for wearing during an entire day. I was surprised by this as Benefit claim that it contains moisture-rich jojoba oil and my lips should have felt pampered to perfection!
The finish is nice to begin with, but as I am eating and drinking or whatever through the day the gloss wears away and leaves an almost matt finish behind. The glitter has good staying power and is my favourite thing about this gloss, it looks very pretty and gives you a bit of glamour even as part of your everyday look. The colour is easily wearable and goes with almost anything, it balances out well if you have gone for a bright colourful eye make-up look.
This product is not up to Benefit's usual standard and although it looks good after you've applied it, the effects quickly wear off and leave me with sticky yet dried out lips! I wouldn't buy this again and to be honest I have had a lot better results using regular high street brand lip glosses that cost a lot less. I love Benefit for their concealers but am a bit put off by my experience of this lip gloss, I had expected more from it.
Benefit Her Glossiness
Clearing out my make up drawers and I recently found this lip gloss. I bought it quite a while ago from boots. I have the 3g version (Which I think is the full size version) in the shade Didn't hear it from me, Which is like a nude pink colour in the bottle.
I am a big fan of the Californian brand (Based in San francisco). But I can't find this product on the boots website anymore, but you can buy it on www.asos.com (See my previous review).
It comes in a sleek clear, see though tube so you can see what you are buying and it just looks simple and the colour of the gloss inside is quite a bit stronger than the actual colour on my lips.
The nude pink on my lips looks a bit like a clear gloss with a pinky iridescent colour/shine to it, which does look really nice and subtle but not really the colour in the tube. But it is easy to apply and take off and it stays put for most of the day too!
*Easy to apply and take off
*glides over my lips really easily
*Simple, sleek see though packaging
*Nice size for traveling or to put in your bag
*The application wand is a bit small, so I have to go over twice with the wand
*Smell is a little bit like sunscreen, But not really nice
*Nice shimmery iridescent colour that lasts
*Good high quality brand
*nice and glossy - but not heavy
Thank you for reading my review
I'm glad I'm not a guy, I feel sorry for them that they can't spend ages making themselves look better with lots of lotions and potions. Well maybe some of them do, but my husband isn't one of them! I have an ongoing love affair with make up and my favourite brands are MAC and Benefit. So when I was offered the chance of some free Benefit make up I jumped at the chance. I received a free 'her glossiness' lip gloss when I took out a Glamour magazine subscription - wooo!
As many of you probably know Benefit is a brand started in 1976 by the Ford twins, Jean Ann and Jane Ann. They worked together and created a boutique in San Francisco with a cool and quirky vibe, much like the city itself! In 1999 a majority stake was bought by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (the name gives a clue of the kind of product they sell!). This allowed the brand to go mega globally and they now have around 2000 counters in more than 30 countries.
The gloss comes in a 3gm tube with a black lid. The name 'her glossiness' is on the front in black and benefit is written in smaller writing at the bottom. The shade is written on the bottom and this one is 'didn't hear it from me'. This is a great name and really fits in with the quirky, cool Benefit brand. The style of Benefit packaging and names are generally from vintage magazines and films and the names are all really individual. I think this makes you proud to have Benefit products in your make up bag.
Another thing that makes me proud to carry Benefit in my make up bag is their no testing on animals stance. This is a big part of their brand and makes it a lot easier on the conscience to use their products.
This product works like most good lip glosses. The tube has a wand inside it with a soft applicator. You pull out the wand and apply the product to your lips either on its own or over the op of other lipstick. You do find when you bring the wand out there tends to be too much product on and you have to wipe a little off on the side of the tube but I find this with most lip glosses.
I like a high gloss look and I find this good for achieving that as it is very shiny. I use it over my normal lipstick as this is a very light shade and any coverage is very sheer so if you like a strong colour you will need to wear this over or under something else.
The cost is £13 a tube although you can get this on many discount websites for a lot cheaper than that. So as always it pays to shop about, although I must say I usually buy any Benefit products direct from the counter for the first time as they do give you good advice about their products.
This is advertised as being a 'non-sticky' lip gloss and well, that just isn't true! As with nearly all lip glosses I have tried this is quite sticky. You can tell that straight away when you take it out the tube and it make a small, slurpy noise! So if it's windy and your hair is flying on your face it will stick to your lips. I have decided that is unavoidable if you want shiny lips!
Another slight downside is staying power. I know the shiny look when you apply is not going to stay put all day but I find that I have to reapply this quite a lot to keep my lips glossy. However a good point of this is the product contains jojoba oil so your lips are beautifully moisturised as well as shiny!
Overall, go for it - get glossy!
Benefit is a popular cosmetics brand created by twins Jane and Jean in 1976. Benefit started out in a boutique in San Francisco and now has over 2000 beauty counters in over 30 countries.
This is one of the Benefit lipgloss ranges. Benefit describe this as being an A List lipgloss. The lipgloss has being formulated with jojoba oil for luxurious lips. There are 8 shades available in the range.
I have the shade "Rave Reviews which is pretty, shimmering pink shade. The lip gloss tube is quite plain and is a tall, see through hard plastic tube with a black twist off lid. The lid also doubles up as the applicator holder which is almost the length of the tube and has a soft, slanted brush on the end. Information on the tube is basic and is in black writing. The Benefit logo, name and Benefit contact address is on the tube.
The tube is then placed in a cardboard box which is pink and has a image of a lady on it. The box has the Benefit logo, product name, ingredients and contact details. There is a black sticker on the top of the box stating the colour and size of the lipgloss.
*Availability and Price*
The lipgloss is available in 8 shades and comes in a 3.0g size. You can buy this from all Benefit retailers. You can also pick these up quite cheap on ebay.
www.ebay.co.uk from £4 + p&p
Benefit is a brand that I have not had much experience with. I have always seen it on ebay but even on there it is expensive. I do however like their packaging as think that Soap and Glory is similar in style.
I often buy job lots of mixed high end makeup on ebay and usually sell the majority on individually but I decided to keep a few bits and pieces for myself and one of these products was the Benefit Her Glossiness in shade Rave Reviews.
Now the box might look attractive and girly but I personally feel the tube itself lacks any character considering how much it costs! For 3g though you do seem to get alot of gloss in the tube. The little slanted brush on the end of the wand is soft and seems to dispense a perfect amount of gloss.
i don't normally go for coloured glosses but pink is pretty and sometimes a little colour is what my lips need. The gloss goes on smooth and has a distinct sherbet type scent which is very sweet and delicious! The colour is a true imitation of the tube when it is applied on your lips and has a slight shimmer making it suitable for both day and night time usage.
I have found that alot of lipglosses are extremely sticky which can be off putting but this is not the case with Her Glossiness. It is not sticky on the lips but can be a little sticky to the touch. As for long lasting, I applied this in the morning and even after breakfast at Wetherspoons and drinking some juice, the gloss was still evident but it is no problem to top up during the day.
At £11 I don't think I could justify it as normally I buy No7 gloss which is £8.50 and I buy it with my £5 off vouchers but I may purchase this on ebay.
Thanks for reading x
Disappointingly Her Glossiness lipgloss is only average. It has a great colour and although when applied it looks great, it is really quite sticky. I normally use it on top of a bit of lipstick or stain to get rid of the stickiness but it doesn't really work. However there are that many lipglosses that aren't gloopy but there are better ones out there.
The flavour of the lipgloss is ok. After application it doesn't last very long so needs to be applied quite frequently. The packaging looks good as it is styled just let all Benefit products with a funky edge. The casing is see through so you easily know the colour and can keep an eye on how much you have left.
Her Glossiness is also not the cheapest on the market so I wouldn't really recommend it, but it sometimes comes free with magazines and I would get it then!
benifit her lip gloss is the best lip gloss i have ever used. I got it free in a magazine once and decided to try it out. I was so impressed by the result i had the colour was brilliant and stood out, it also made my lips look really glossy and shinny which i personally like in a lip gloss, it made my lips look very plump which i also like in a lip gloss. I have been buying it ever since i first tryed it. I would rather pay a fair amount of money for a lip gloss that i was really impressed with and was the perfect lip gloss that i had been looking for, than pay 2 pounds for some lip gloss that does nothing for me. I am rating benifit her lip gloss 10/10 i can say i take it with me very were i go just incase i do need a touch up.
The lip gloss also stays on very well, say if you smoke for example after you have finished your cigarette your lip gloss still remains to your lips or say if you do not smoke and for example you had just kissed some one, the lip gloss still remains on your lips and doesnt smudge easy.
Benifit her lip gloss it not sticky either like some i have used.
I would recommend this lip gloss to some one whos looking for a lip gloss that shines, looks glossy and makes your lips look plump.
i give it a 10/10
This lipgloss is made by cool funky makeup & skincare brand Benefit, who originate from America, and have fun, quirky names for all their products. I was lucky to get this lipgloss free with a magazine, and only just rediscovered it as I forgot I even had it!
what does Benefit say about it?
"This irresistibly shiny lip gloss glides on smooth, not sticky, for A-list lips that will give 'em something to gossip about! Contains moisture-rich jojoba oil to pamper your lips to perfection."
It comes in 8 shades, and the shade I was allocated with my magazine is called "My People, Your People" (huh???) which is a soft glimmering baby pink colour. For someone who doesn't like dark shades, I was pretty lucky to be allocated a colour that I like.
It comes in a long slender see through tube with a black lid, and an applicator stick, which is quite bog-standard in shape, nothing fancy. I'd say the packaging is quite basic, and doesn't look like an expensive brand at all.
It applies pretty well, and has a nice subtle shimmer to it. As its description, its a lot less sticky in consistency than other lipglosses around, but like many lip glosses, and if you don't have a elfin hair style, you will still no doubt get the dreaded hair-stuck-to-lips predicament when you step outside (I HATE that!!!). However, it does look very nice and 'glossy' as per the description, with a subtle shimmer, and feels soft on the lips, and is fairly long lasting as long as you don't do too much with your lips...I eat my lunch and had to reapply some straight afterwards which is quite standard procedure for gloss I think anyway.
How much does it cost? For me, it was free, but for the paying public, you would need to fork out £13 (currently on sale on their website at £11) for a 3 gram tube, which is a decent size but there's only one shade available on Benefit's website, but it is available in the other shades from other websites like Debenhams. If you're not shopping online, you can get Benefit items from the specialist Benefit counters at many popular department stores, otherwise Boots also sell them in large stores.
Benefit do some amazing makeup in their range, so does this one live up to the name? That's a resounding no. Although it wasn't a completely disastrous make up item, I really don't think it does the brand name any justice, and you would do much better to buy a lipgloss from another big makeup house like Chanel or Estee Lauder for a similar price which would do a much better job, and look more expensive. The packaging and finish of this product are definitely not up to scratch for a £13 item. And if you don't want to spend loads of money, you could easily find something from a cheaper priced makeup brand which would be just as good as this product.
Benefit have a new lipgloss out which is quite boringly named "Lip Gloss" (surely they could have put more thought into that name?!) and it's a quid more at £14, but perhaps it is better than this let down of a lip gloss! If I ever try it, I'll let you know!
I've used this in the past and although I did quite like it, it is not the best out there. I used it until the end but would not buy it again.
The consistency is good, not too runny and not too sticky unlike many out there. I liked the colour as it looks very natural, however you will find that the lip gloss does not last for very long at all. You will reapply it a lot during the day which would get annoying but it does do what it claims, to give you an ultra shiney pout that glistens and really grabs peoples attention.
I did get some very nice comments when I wore it and that is the main reason I kept using it but I would prefer to carry on using the benefit tint in the day instead and keep this gloss for the evening for a classic starlet look and I won;t mind reapplying it.
I purchased this item as the colour looked lovely and as it was Benefit, I decided to treat myself! I am quite partial to a lippy so I thought it could look quite nice to give me a natural look. The colour is a dusky pink and applies well. The only quibbles I have is that it doesnt last a long time and the gloss isnt as thick as some of the lipglosses I already have. If you are looking for a long wearing gloss, I would not recommend this to you! I do think it it is well over priced for what youre getting. I love the colour and it does give you the au natural look, but not for the price you pay! I would recommend you spend that little bit extra to give you a thicker gloss which doesnt come off straight away with the sip of a cuppa tea! There are a lot of lipglosses out there which will give you a natural look, just dont be taken in, just beacuse its made by Benefit!
I think you can tell by the number of reviews on this product that this was given out free with Glamour a while back. I am a Benefit addict anyway and LOVED getting a full sized lip gloss worth £13. Quite expensive for a lip gloss but considering how well known a brand Benefit is and the huge amount of time that this has lasted for me I dont think this is too much to pay. A perfect gift also.
The colour when inside the tube looks a bit too garish, however when applied it lies over the natural lip colour to provide a lovely colour. With a tint of sparkle this product is also great for day or night wear. Benefit includes the classic lip gloss brush, unlike other brands who have been branching out into some of the newer brush shapes, however this is not a problem when applying and goes to show that if something isn't broken don't fix it!
Benefit Her Glossiness Lip Gloss comes in a long slim rectangular box which is pale pink in colour. There is a faint image of a woman on the box too. On the front of the box is the name of the product and brand plus the size of the tube inside which is 3g's. On the back of the box is the ingredients list and contact information. On the top of the box is the name of the colour. Inside the box you will find the tube which is a clear plastic with a solid black lid. It has the name and brand of the product and ingredients list on it too.
I got this lip gloss as it was free with one of my Glamour magazines and thought it was a great deal pay £2.00 for the magazine and get a high brand lip gloss worth £13.00. Now I was going through my makeup and forgot that I had this and so I decided to give it a go. The colour I have is my people, your people which is a very pale nude pink, which is one of my favourites. When looking at from the outside in it looks to be a very sparkly nude pink. I then opened the tube to find the white sponge applicator covered in the gloss but it looked more see through then what was in the tube. I had a little smell and it had a slight fruity smell and didn't have that horrible make up smell that you get with other products. I then proceeded to put it on my lips, it felt quite thick in consistency but not sticky at all. Looking in the mirror it isn't very pigmented; it gives you a slight colour of pink and a lovely glisten. I know some people would rather have a stronger colour but this works for me. My lips also felt moisturised and lasted a good three to four hours. If I did want a stronger a colour I put a lipstick of a similar colour underneath. I do think it is a bit pricey though and there are better cheaper alternatives. I would recommend this if you like a pale sheen and don't mind paying the price but if you like stonger colours this is not for you and like I said before there are better cheaper alternatives like L'Oreal or Max Factor.
Price and Availability
I have only seen this product online and prices start from £13.00. I have seen this on a cheaper website while researching the product but have never heard of it so I don't know what it would be like. You will also find this product on eBay.
I got this product free with a magazine a while back and even though it was free i still wasnt that impressed.
I think it sells for about £13 and i would never pay that much for it. I think that they are trying to make it like something a celeb would wear or something as iv heard the sales girls going on about an A-List gloss or something?
The shade i got was a really pale glittery pink, cant remember the name and i think there are only 4 different shades of it. It not actually that glossy when its on, more glittery, and i felt like it was more suited to really young girls because of there being so much glitter in it!
Its quite a nice smell though and the packaging is ok, but could have looked a bit better considering the price. The tube didnt seem to be totally full (unlike most lipglosses) and it looked as if it was only about 3/4 full. It also dries out really quickly and i had to throw it away way before it was finished as there was only glitter left and no gloss.
An ultra-shine gloss for very important people /
