Hervana is Heaven !
Member Name: MissKatyxox
Advantages: The design is pretty, Nice colour, The SMELL !!
Disadvantages: The new box style !!
Today I am reviewing beneFits new boxed powder - Hervana
I love the box design of this, it's very spiritual and heaven-y which I guess makes sense since its called Hervana. I got this in america and I'm not quite sure whether it is out in the UK yet, I'm pretty sure it is though so you can get it at any place that sells BeneFit cosmetics so, Boots, Debenhams and other department stores for the price of £23.50 which goes for all their boxed powders too.
Now I have a bit of an issue with benefit cosmetics as you will know if you have read any of my other benefit reviews. They have some AMAZING products, e.g tints, perfumes, creaseless cream eyeshadows etc. But they also have some products that are to be honest, totally and utterly useless.
Hervana is similar to beneFits boxed powder called sugarbomb because it has a mixture of colours in, to create one blended together colour for your face. Like all beneFit powders it does come with a brush. Now these brushes are OK normally, but I do not tend to use them as I don't like how they actually apply the product onto my face. But what is different about the hervana brush is that it is actually a lot softer than the other brushes that have come with previous powders. If you're travelling, it's handy because it fits neatly in the box and doesn't take up any extra room.
This powder is also one with the new style of box, I really don't like this style of packaging, I just hate it ! I wish they would go back to the original style of packaging, it was so much better !!
First thing is they have included a mirror !! Woo hoo !! I've never seen myself in a mirror before !! I'm joking. Yeah, it's fine they have included a mirror but to be honest, I don't need one that is this useless. It's tiny for a start and when you swirl the brush in the powder all flies up and lands on the mirror which is more than annoying. Also, wherever I am I generally have a mirror, I'm either at home in my bedroom, in the car, or out somewhere where I can go to the toilet and they will have a mirror in there.
Also, when you are closing it, the sides sometimes end up in the inside of the box and gouge really horribly into the powder, pretty much ruining it. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it so much !!
According to beneFit - 'Achieve hervana! Swirl these blissful shades together & sweep on your cheekbones for an enlightened flush.' Interesting description ?!
Whats also new is that beneFit have actually named the individual colours in the powder which is very surprising to me personally. Firstly is lucky shell which is a very sort of beige/white colour rather than a shell, the next one is divine peach which essentially is a very warm peach with some brown tones in it. Thirdly there is heavenly rose which is a muted rose shade and the last one is berry delight which looks more purple than berry toned. They all have shimmer and the shell colour looks to have larger pieces of shimmer but on my face it's pretty much the same. The pigmentation of these is very sheer and the overall effect is a very soft, slightly warm tinted pink. I really like the colour but I don't think it is uniue enough in an extremely saturated market. It's slightly different because it is not a straight up, solid colour but the actual effect reached, I can probably find a similar colour in the drugstore.
It's great for spring because the colours are light and soft and slightly shimmery. Another great thing is the smell, they smell like iced tea !! Overall this is a really nice glow giving powder but it's not something that when I run out, I am going to have to go and get a new one straight away. But I do really like it though.
Summary: A nice boxed powder from beneFit
