Advantages: The packaging
Disadvantages: The unnatural colour, the price, the brush
This review is centred upon the Benefit's blusher called 'Hervana'. I have a few Benefit products in my makeup bag but I can't really afford to buy them with my student loan which is why I was extra greatful when my sister purchased this product and then realised that she didn't like it as the colour was too bright for her and she isn't used to wearing much makeup and found this blusher too overwhelming. I have the Texas Benefit face powder and use it all the time and it lasts for ages so I had high expectations for this powder also.
The blusher comes in such a cute blue/purple box. Underneath the lid is a handy compact mirror which is good for if you are applying this on-the-go! The blusher also comes with it's own brush. The style of the brush is a proper blusher brush but I find that the bristles are not the right texture to get an even amount of product to apply to the cheekbones. I also find that the bristles fan out too much and the powder ends up all over my face which is never a good look.
Inside, the powder is seperated into three different colours. One is a dark purple/pink colour, another is a peach colour and the final colour is a paler peach colour. The idea is that the colours can mix together to create a natural looking blush. I think that the paler of the three colours i.e. just the peach and the paler peach colour would make a much better colour without the deep pink as I think it is too overpowering and takes over the lighter tones instead of mixing with them and complementing them.
The powder itself is very soft and it not heavy so it does apply quite nicely when using the correct brush but in my opinion the colour just is not natural and is not worth the full price of £23.50 that my sister paid for it. I have had much better blushers for less than half of the price of this one which offer natural colour tones and even come with better brushes!
I'd say that the best thing about this product is the cute packaging complete with the halo graphic on the top of the box otherwise I'd say that this product is quite poor and that much better ones can be found for a fraction of the cost
